Avatar m tn I am 27, and have always suffered from premature ejaculation. I tried Fluoxetine in the past and found it useless, I am currently on 100mg sertraline daily. After 3-4 months on sertraline I've noticed a slight improvement that is still hit and miss, have tried all sorts of "start-stop" exercises and kegel exercises for nearly a year. I also have occasional anxiety-related ED problems which I take Levitra for. What is my next step?
Avatar f tn Taking Escitalopram for premature ejaculation is puzzling for me unless you haven't explained everything, since the drug is prescribed for treating depression and generalized anxiety disorder. And then it takes from one to four weeks or longer to become fully effective.
Avatar f tn This is a very common problem and unfortunately, there’s no medication for the same. The commonest cause of premature ejaculation is the anxiety of performance. The treatment of premature ejaculation is having a psychological session with the couple, stop-start or squeeze-pause techniques, desensitizing creams and SRRI(selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) in severe cases. My sincere advice is to consult a urologist.
Avatar n tn If you are asking about premature ejaculation, you should post in the men's health forum. Its not caused by an std.
Avatar n tn It certainly is possible since the underlying pharmacology is quite similar.
Avatar f tn if kegel exercises do not cause premature ejaculation thn do it cure premature ejaculation ?
Avatar m tn Every man is born with premature ejaculation, so having it is perfectly normal to start with. Controlling ejaculation is something you have to learn just as you had to learn to control your bladder as a child. We get taught to control our bladders but no one teaches us how to control ejaculation. The American Academy of Family Physicians confirms that: Behavioral methods are helpful for more than 95 percent of men who have premature ejaculation.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 27 year old male, been sexually active for 10 years and in a steady relationship for over a year. I have always suffered from premature ejaculation, which I think has something to do with my Anxiety and Depression. I ejaculate within 2 minutes (or substantially less!) 99% of the time. Have previously tried Prozac at 20mg, 40mg, and 60mg but this did not help at all. Am currently on sertraline 100mg, which helps for anxiety and depression but not PE.
Avatar m tn I read up on a book as well that is suppose to train you how not just to delay but improve enjoyment and basically give you total control over ejaculation and even be able to stay at climax for as long as you want, but the book is $40, which I can't really afford especially for something I don't know will work or not. The website for the book is http://www.****.

Avatar m tn I'm a 20 year old male and am healthy as far as I know. I'm still a virgin, one prominent reason being that I have premature ejaculation so every time I'm offered a ** I turn it down because I can see how embarrassing it would be if I reached climax in 10 seconds. I know I have premature ejaculation because when I masturbate I can reach climax in 20 seconds or so, and it's suppose to be 2-3 minutes for a normal guy. So what the hell to do now?

Avatar n tn This is shameful but I had masturbated for the past 8 years and finally I stoped, but while I was masturbating the time for ejaculation to occur decreased from 15 mins when I first started to almost a few seconds. And now that I have stopped masturbating, I find myself ejaculating alot just like that when I under stress or had a wet dream without much sensation. I never had sex with someone or something before. What is going on? What is the cure? What should I do?

Avatar n tn Practice makes perfect in this case. Seriously. The more he does it, or the more he "relieves" himself (to put it lightly), the more it'll pay off. Just make sure you let him know he's not a failure. that'll crush his ego if he feels that way. Here's an excerpt from an email from Men's Health that I received that may be of use: "Most experts agree there is both a biological and a psychological explanation for PE.
