Thank you so much for your heartening post; it gave me hope. I've been on Tramadol 50 mg., 8-9 per day for colitis, which I'm sure I could probably get the relief I need from Bentyl, but my addiction gene lying within me caused me to eagerly start back on Trams about 15 mos. ago, following the death of my mother. I have prayed and prayed for the strength to walk toward withdrawal and I seem to be getting a little more resolved every day.
I never like the idea of Rimadyl for dogs. Carprofen (the active ingredient in Rimadyl), even though deemed safe for dogs, still can cause too many adverse reactions and side effects for my liking. But isn't it a cryin' shame that vets have to be careful what they prescribe for pets because the owners will take it?!?! Sometimes I wonder how the human race has come as far as it has with so many idiots here to carry it on.

How long has she been taking tramadol? I would suggest that you or your wife contact the prescribing physician of the tramadol and let him/her explain the situation to the physicians at the ER.
I wiened down to 2 a day in 2 months, The got some oxycodone and wiened down to 2 a day, Then got some hydrocodone and wiened down to 2 a day. I am now takin 2 50 mg tramadol to take the edge off the withdrawals ,am i gonna get addicted to the tramadol,am i screwin up here,or should have just cold turkeyed the 2 hydrcodone a day?????????

After 4 days at this schedule I am starting to get worse withdraws again, so i stepped it back up to 25 mg 2 times a day, for a total of 50 mg daily. ( 1 pill a day, cut in half) . I seem to be able to hold it here.....It's not real easy, but I can do it.....I guess this will take a long time since i have taken this stuff for a long time. Wish My Doc would have told me this, but I have the feeling he's oblivious to it.
