could any of you tell me how long I should be off of tramadol before j can safely take Zoloft please. I'm a mom of a new baby and want to be safe and not hurt myself or him since I'm nursing.
Interesting. Anyway.. thank you ALL on the advice in regards to tramadol. Who knew? I do take zoloft and suuposedly there is no interraction between the two meds. Now I'm just terrified!
Switching over to Vicodin from Tramadol and tapering off the Vicodin seems to be working, and I am getting some sleep. I'm down to 9 Vicodin today. Monday I'll go down to 7 a day, and right now the Anxiety isn't so bad. By the end of the week I should be off all Vicodin, and on the road to getting my life back. MadTram, you've been through alot, and I'm sorry to hear of your suffering with this same horrible Sleep Anxiety. The CBT has been helping me over the past few days.
Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Ultram (Tramadol) and SSRI’s like Paxil, Zoloft, etc. All drugs mentioned here can easily be googled for detailed information.
Interesting...I'm taking tramadol for my back pain (50mg 3x/day) and also take zoloft and klonipin, occcasionally. Thanks for that info. I hope to be off the tramadol in another couple weeks, but I think I'll call the doctor. Oh, he also gave me soma which turns me into a zombie when combined with tramadol.
I have been taking zoloft and tramadol for 3 years. I want to Stop the tramadol but even after one day, I feel Horrible. Have tried several times!! Hello, I am 30 days off of tramadol ( 2pills 3x daily sometimes more) they were prescribed to me for fibromyalgia and I was on them for 2 years. I was on hydrocodone for about a year before the tramadol and I wanted to get off the narcotics so I was put on tramadol since its "non narcotic"...!!! Yeah right! I quit taking the hydrocodone cold turkey and the withdrawal from those was way easier than the withdrawal from tramadol! Anyways...
I am scared to get off completely because I have tried before and feel completely like crap and fatigued beyond belief. Nobody knows about my Tramadol addiction and I want to detox without any of my family knowing, without it affecting my everyday life. Is there anybody out there that has detoxed from Tramadol successfully and if so, what advise do you have to make this as painless as possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Even though Tramadol is not considered a true narcotic medication and is relatively easily prescribed for pain by some physicians, it is as you have found out quite addictive and difficult to quit. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves. I would only guess that if are successful in doing it at home you don't end up in my clinic.
You should call your doctor back or better yet call the pharmacy. Tramadol is catagorized as an NSAID, but I researched it on line and it says that it is a synthetic narcotic. Your w/d symptoms shouldn't last longer than a week in my opinion. You weren't taking that much for that long. The worst of the physical stuff is usually over in several days. Day 3 was the worst for me. Stay on here, lots of people can helpyou. I've read that some other people on here had problems with tramadol.
How long does Tramadol withdrawals last? CT after 2 years and 15 pills a day. Day 3 and deathly ill.
What a great and soothing feeling, that there is one doctor so concerning about this horrible and silent chaser of tramadol, I admire your concerning about this medication addiction.
some Family med Docs may not be aware of the dangers yet but I would be willing to bet most, if not all, ER's have seen Tramadol Overdoses and Tramadol related issues. Obviously, some people have jumped off c/t at high doses like you and ended up ok, but Im just telling yiou from MY experience (and I was on a little less than you) It was pure hell! I relapsed a week later back on Norcos because I couldnt take the withdrawls anymore.
I been on Paxil and kolonopin for the past month and a half and so far so good. Zoloft always made me feel numb and I didnt like the side effects. The even put me on buspore and that really didn't work for me. It made my panic attacks worse. Lexapro was a bust also but now the meds I'm. Taking make me feel great and I can still function through the day. Prayer helps to because no matter how many pills the doctor can put you on only God can make you and take you through anything.
So I'm hooked on tramadol, without which I can't really walk with my back and the detox is hell, and living in a country where I can get them cheaply, without a prescription, at about 50 locations within a 5 minute walk to my house. Good news: they do have AA here! Bad news: NOT IN INGLES, and my lazy butt hasn't learned Spanish yet. I've tried quitting cold turkey a few times and haven't made in more than 2-3 days. I'm still not drinkin though.
I would like to substitute Zoloft as a replacement for the SSRI component of Tramadol. I have read that Effexor has a very similar chemical compesition but i have a recent Rx for Zoloft. Will that work as well and help as I discontinue the use of Tramadol? Any suggestions for an assisting med while tapering off the tramadol to lessen the withdrawal from it?
flashing , I have been clean from tramadol for almost 90 days now . I have gone both cold turkey and tapered off the withdrwal from the taper was so much more bearable.
Around day 10 I didn't think I could handle the feelings anymore and the dr promised the Zoloft was not addictive and now I'm also reading it is?? And does have wds?? So confused?! Seemed like last night was the worst yet and from side effects of Zoloft rather than wds....
then last november, i suffered my first panic attack, went on ativan (4 mgs) and upped my prozac which made me super agressive. dumped the prozac and went on zoloft. ativan stopped the panic attacks, teeth pain, i felt GREAT (or at least totally anestithised). only problem? i am now an addict going through horrible withdrawl. in a month, i tapered down from 4 mgs a day to half a mg each night to help me sleep along with 50 mgs of elavil.
I weaned myself of off Zoloft without any problem but the same system I used for Zoloft don't even come close for Tramadol. I've just got a refill and really want this to be the last refill. I haven't told my doctor about wanting to come off the Tramadol because I'm afraid he'll just stop giving me refills. He is a very young doctor and not sure he really knows all there is to know about Tramadol. I really want to get back to where I was before the Tramadol.
So total for yesterday (Saturday) 0 Tramadol 2 hydros (10mg total) 1 Zoloft (50mg) 1 Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) It's noon on Sunday and I'm feeling pretty wonky, but ok. Haven't taken anything yet today, but probably will in a bit. I'd have to say that so far this has been ok, much better than I thought. I know I'm using crutches, but if I'd known I could transfer over this easily to something I KNOW I can get off of, I would have done it sooner. I guess you never know until you try.
The best way to recover from the emotional fall out from Tramadol is to be patient and give it time. If you have a history of a mental illness, or if the depressive symptoms are intolerable, to the point where you're struggling significantly, then speak to your doctor. Some people DO eventually opt to go on an antidepressant. I personally think giving it time first is a more optimal approach. What are you doing for aftercare? Are you going to AA/NA meetings?
For example, you can develop this syndrome if you take migraine medicines called triptans together with antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and selective serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). Popular SSRI's include Celexa, Zoloft, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, and Lexapro. SNRI's include Cymbalta and Effexor. Brand names of triptans include Imitrex, Zomig, Frova, Maxalt, Axert, Amerge, and Relpax.
Has anyone used a quick taper of tramadol to detox from hydrocodone? I know they use this in some detox/rehab centers. I am hoping I could do this in like 5 days and avoid the worst of the withdrawal symptoms from the Norco. I was taking 10 Norco a day. Any feedback would be appreciated.
It cronicles her battle with Tramadol and also has a ton of other members either trying to come clean or that have gotten clean from Tram. Here is the link : http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/233589/Tramadol--Ultram-Recovery-Room-Part-38 If at all possible it would be best to see your Dr. and develop a taper plan with him to slowly wean you off. There is a small risk of seizures going CT from Tram but the risk of seizure is far greater from taking it at the amounts you were.
Has any tried ultram or tramadol? I read somewhere that they help the pain and they give you more energy. That sounds great if they wk.
I have been addicted to tramadol since a march 2008 Horse Accident,I am in fact a career horse trainer, one of them broke my Pelvis. After a week in the Hospital and IV Painkillers they let me out on OXYCONTIN then switched me to Vicodin ,then Ultimately the worst drug I have ever encountered ,Tramadol .
