Thanks for the additional info LivingInHope. I appreciate it. I'll ask my doctor about the blood testing. The Tramadol actually helps my POTS. Without it I have a lot more tachy. It's a night and day difference. When I take Tramadol, my heart-rate goes down significantly. I also have pain issues from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and it helps my depression, so it's killing a lot of birds with one stone, so to speak. :P But yeah, a blood test may be a good idea, as you've suggested.
Hi well I was on Tramadol for a month and when I went off of it (I was on the lowest dose and only once a day) I got withdrawal symptoms for 5 days. I was on it twice a day to start with but then I got insomnia so I had to take it only in the morning. I also started getting shortness of breath after 3 weeks or so. The withdrawal was general feeling of feeling ill, my hands shook but not terrible, headache, more back pain for one day, and so forth.
Just recently moved to a new town and started seeing a pain management doctor the first month he gave me a urine test but wouldn't give me pain meds so I ask my regular doctor about it and she gave me Tramadol. The second month he didn't test me but he gave me a small script. It wasn't enough for my pain, so I've been supplementing the Tramadol. It's almost time for my third visit and I'm wondering if they're going to give me a urine test this time?
i was on prescription tramadol for about 9 months, i have stopped taking them for 3 weeks now, will they still show up on a blood test?
(i was prescribed because i have had on and off pain for 3 years now which recently stopped, we think it may just be a bad bladder infection. its ok though all i need to know is about how long before tramadol doesnt show up.
t get meds from different drs when you are going to a pain dr and if you go to somewhere like the ER you have to tell them you see a pain dr and they will call him or her. Most likely all the meds you have taking was in your urine and it will be found and the meds that you haven't taking that he did give you won't be found and that will be a problem.
When the nurse begins the procedure of your urine test she will ask you what time you took your meds and if you have taken anything that has not been prescibed by the doctor.
At this point you need to be totally honest! If you have taken something not prescibed now is the time to speak up. Make sure you are accurate with the times you last took your medications.
Then she will give you a urine sample cup. At this point make sure the cup has your name and info on it already.

3 days later I drove her to the ER where she advised the staff she had a UTI. They took urine and blood and gave her 1g Rocephine intravenously. They advised her that the urine was not showing any signs of infection probably because the antibiotic was masking it.
I was nervous because even tho I was showing no symptoms I worried I caught an std and passed it to her. They sent her home with Cipro 500mg twice a day for 7 days.
That means half of the drug is either excreted in the urine or metabolized during that time. Another 6-7 hours and another half is theoretically gone. Drinking extra fluids and taking a mild diuretuic such as 100 mg of vitamin C may hasten the excretion. The mechanism of the drug is not completeloy understood and it is conceivable that insignificant traces of the drug may remain in tissues for weeks.

Unfortunately, Fentanyl can usually only be dected through GCMS testing. Fentanyl is in the same class as Morphine, however, it is synthetic and does not metabolize like other opiates, ie Vicodin, Morphine, Codeine. The urine test is testing for metabolites, ie norhydrocodone, hydromorphone. It depends on the test that is being used and that the assay cutoff is for that particular test.
Several weeks ago I took a urine test and I am currently taking Tylenol #4. However, I had temporarily misplaced my Tyelonol #4 so I took a 5 or so tramdols from a previous prescription I had from the same pain management clinic. In addition I had started taking creatin, amino acids, glutamine and mass gainer protein shakes. On to the question. I normally get a urinalysis bill from 400-800.
I have just been dismissed from my pain management doctor's practice for non compliance. The problem I have is that I have always been compliant.
3 years ago I was diagnosed as a rapid metabolizer (which I've told him), I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
I've also noticed that postpartum, I'm guessing my hormone levels have changed because medications that worked for me pre-pregnancy no longer do. I'm still in pain despite taking percocet 3x daily.

Hi, I am a bi male who has recently (this year) began to experiment with other men. I will admit that my behaviours have been somewhat promiscuous due to the fact that I've had multiple partners. Now, although I have had multiple partners in recent months, not once was I ever exposed to Unprotected sex in any way. I have had anal sex a few times but I always wore a condom. Most of the time that I have had an encounter, it has only been oral sex and nothing else.
I never experienced any syntomps (discharge,puss,burning etc) I read all other posts where the community and the doctors say that if one does not experience syntomps then testing is just for peace of mind.
I called the clinic yesterday to ask their opinion and they suggested not only that I could be having asyntomatic gonorreah or clamidya but also that my wife could have it and being asyntomatic as well.
