Avatar n tn Opioid withdrawal has many side effects -- insomnia, nausea and diarrhea, dysforia, muscle twitching, and anxiety are the main ones. A low dose benzo, like clonazepam or alprazolam may help with the anxiety, dysphoria.and insomnia during the first few weeks. Clonazepam may also help with the muscle twitching or myoclonus. Nausea and diarrhea can be treated with OTC medication. Sometimes, a small dose of clonidine helps with withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Around 3 months ago I started getting twitching all over my body, one place, then another. This twitching stopped when I moved the muscle involved. This symptom is, I think, decrrasing (maybe bfs??) However, around the same time noticed I got tingling in my feet. I first noticed it in my right shin, before noticing it in my right and then left foot. A few weeks after I felt odd sensations on the back of my hands and front of my arms as well as top of legs.
Avatar m tn I have been a Tramadol user for about 6 years. I have severe back pain from spinal disk deterioration. I also had some back surgery. I want to get off this drug and over a period of about three months now I have tapered down from 6 [50mg] a day tp 2 [50mg] a day. The problem is I now suffer from insomnia, (I writing this at 3AM), When I try to go to sleep I get this restlessness in my arms to the point of twitching and jerking sometimes.
Avatar m tn I also take Tramadol and Ritalin which is also part of this treatment as well as for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. And then is the 1 mg of Xanax that I take at bedtime every night... also for 13 years. This all came after being in a bedridden state for 3 yrs. These perscriptions were all perscribed by one dr and for the treatment of such. I never abused them and even at times did not take them it symptoms were not present.
Avatar f tn Sudden onset of insomnia (I can only stay asleep in short intervals), strange cold sensation in my arms and upper body upon waking, extreme anxiety and depression, extreme tension headache, tachycardia, muscle twitching and jerking, personality change, low libido, anhedonia, lethargy and fatigue, heavy eyes, low appetite, brain fog and some cognitive decline following an irresponsible binge more than a month ago of tramadol in which I took up to 700 mg spread out across about 12 hours with no t
Avatar f tn I'm on my third day of detox off Tramadol. Trying to go to sleep, and I'm very sleepy, aided by Lorazepam. So I lie down and then suddenly feel surges of energy or something shooting through my arms and legs and up my back. It's not painful, but it's frustrating. I feel like I want to punch the mattress and scream. (And that actually does help, for a minute.) Can anyone tell me what this is and how I might relieve it? Thank you!
1351870 tn?1277732421 Ok.. lol.. thanks :) I don't know anything about tramadol. All I know is it's not narcotic and can ease withdrawal symptoms. Sounds like it would make another problem altogether.. aye.. I wish there was an easy, painless way to detox!!
Avatar m tn Difficulty with walking has gotten worse. Shaking and twitching in her arms and legs and neck. Doctor does not know what is going on and he will not perscribe hydrocodone or soma. We live in texas and the laws here are strict about drugs like that. Thanks for your opinion.

Avatar f tn s days are getting better; he has twitching and the shakes still, but is able to get through the day pretty well.... my question is the nights. By the time it hits 7pm; his whole body starts to ache really bad and he gets leg pain in his left leg and really bad twitching all over. Is this fairly normal at this point in the detox?? Is there anything go give him that might help?? I give him Tylenol and stuff to help him sleep; although it doesnt seem to work since his body wont relax.
1986130 tn?1326767295 It is important to quit prior to getting pregnant since you can take all the medications to help you through the withdrawals. During pregnancy all you can do is grunt and bear it. Here are some tips you can use and ask your doctor to prescribe for you. Even though Tramadol is not considered a true narcotic medication and is relatively easily prescribed for pain by some physicians, it is as you have found out quite addictive and difficult to quit.
Avatar m tn When was the last time you used Tramadol?
Avatar f tn Its a opiod and it has the same potential of abuse but low rates of abuse because people prefer hydrocodones and oxycodones. But tramadol is a little weaker opiod and it also works on your seratonin levels so its little different. So treat it as the vicoden if you are looking at tolerence and addiction. I have bad headaches, migraines and neck problems. No tumor but its pain that debilitates me and i am often left feeling lifeless and sorry for myself.
Avatar m tn Hi , my partner has receantly had an incident were she collapsed at the side of the road , was attended to by paramedics , was tacicardic , breathing problems and involuntary muscle twitching , unconscious and no reaction to pain test , she was put into a anesthectic state , intubation, fluids and oxygen given and air lifted to hospital , we think this may have been contributed to by her medications as she was prescribed 40mg citalopram , 400mg tramadol , zopiclone and D3 supplement , it was als
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I had 2 teeth pulled and my mother in law gave me some tramadol. Without even thinking (and I think I was under the impression that it wasn’t an opioid) I took a 50mg. My question is.. when can I safely take my suboxone dose?
Avatar f tn Absolutely bad. As I understand it, sub if taken with opiates (and Tramadol is a synthetic opiate) will through you into full blown withdrawals.
Avatar m tn Tramadol is not only a painkiller by affecting the u-opioid receptor but it also have the proprieties of inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine which would make it a painkiller with SNRI proprieties. Pristiq is a SNRI antidepressant so both are interacting together. So you have increased risk of serotonin toxicity and increased risk of seizures and other neurological symptoms. Please call her doctor to let him know this is happening.
Avatar m tn Yes. Long term use of pain killers, even tramadol can change the pain receptors and when you stop using it you can experience heightened sensitivity and rebound pain. Of course, if you've been using it for pain related reasons its also possible that the health condition that prompted the doctor to prescribe tramadol hasn't been resolved.
Avatar m tn lesa May 26, 2010 — The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced yesterday that it has added a warning of suicide risk to the labels of tramadol hydrochloride (Ultram) and tramadol hydrochloride/acetaminophen (Ultracet).
Avatar n tn I am feeling nerve sensations, burning pain deep down all over my neck, shoulders, chest halfway down my arms, throat and it has lit up my somewhat dormant tendonitis in my shoulder joints. My throat feels dry and tight, voice is hoarse and cracking, some slight hand shakiness, foot cramps that I use to get infrequently have become frequent, left foot locked on me while sleeping, left calf muscle twitching, charlie horse in left leg quad for 12 hours -took it to work with me, ouch!
Avatar n tn s together and be fine, for that matter you can take methadone and heroin and be fine. Is Tramadol supposded to be like Naloxone?
Avatar f tn A few months before I started HCV tx I started taking Lyrica and Tramadol for the body pains I was having; they are prescribed by my pain management dr. After researching Tramadol last week and seeing its sx I was wondering if it was contributing to the hallucinations I was having with the interferon and ribavirin. I asked the doctor if there was any other pain med I could take after doing the research and scaring myself silly and was told no.
Avatar f tn I am 26 years old and I have never had a nose twitching before in my whole life. So the twitching started at the left under eye area for a few days, and it stopped. And then the left side of my nose started twitching for a few days, and now it stopped. I have read so many articles online and there is this thing called hemifacial spasm, so people with this condition, they would experience twitching or uncontrolled muscle pulling on the one side of the face.
Avatar f tn Last week I did not take tramadol at all and began to feel achy all over and tired. I took the pill. Yesterday, I took no tramadol again and had all the symptoms I see described here--restless all over, unable to sleep, achy, etc. I took a tramadol this morning and the symptoms went away. My question: what is best here? Stop both of them? Stop the Tramadol and continue the percocet for a week(1 pill a night) and then stop the percocet? Stop both together?

Avatar f tn Taper is right tramadol has differnet withdrawal symptoms including siezures so be careful. Be honest with your doctor and ask him to give you a taper schedule and he may also be able to give you other meds to help besides suboxone. Get OTC meds for any flu like symptoms and take vitamins and drink a lot of water. You can do it without the subs you have only been using them for a short time.
