I have had this ringing in my ears for a while now - and recently someone mentioned it might be a side effect from the tramadol. So has anyone else experienced this?
I thought it was a problem with my heart so i called a ambulance and they done all the checks on my heart and i was fine. t is side effects to tramadol. Today i still feel weak and sickly and a little bit spaced out. How long does tramadol stay in your system for its been 18 hours now so frustrating.
You did take too many, and please do not take any more as you are experiencing some unwanted side effects. The half life of tramadol is about 6 hours, so you should have some resolution of symptoms by late this evening and full resolution by tomorrow morning. Do not keep taking any more as you obviously do not react well to it. Call your doctor tomorrow and ask or something else like Tylenol #3. The question for you is: did the doctor tell you to take four of them at a time or was it your idea?

Hello, The side effect of tramadol is menopausal symptoms, which can lead to absence of menstrual bleeding. Taking too much opiates for you to handle can very well make you nauseous/puke. And decreased sexual drive is another known side effect of opiate use. There is definately a chance your boyfriend is using opiates.
My Dr has tried Flexeril, Skelaxin, 500 mg of naproxen and it hasn't work. Now she prescribe tramadol. I have read bad things about it and its side effects. Everything is dated from a few years ago, so I would like update from anyone that is taking it. I was prescribed 50mg/4 times a day as needed. I have read that it causes drowiness but people state that it actually gives them energy (I have insomnia- also on my 3th medication because Ambien, Lunesta didn't work. Now on Tranzodone).
It could be a side effect of the Tramadol. It is not usual at 150 milligrams a day , but possible. But you cannot disregard other medical conditions. You should speak to your doctor about your symptoms.
All I know is that my doctor hates this medication because it can be addictive and the side effects are generally not worth it because it isn't really all that effective on pain. I found that she is correct about that, too. And, I keep reading about how people who did find it effective for pain for a short time found that it wasn't really effective for pain after a while.
Tramadol is definitely NOT the drug of choice for knee pain. It has lots of side effects. Look it up in the PDR. You should get off it as of yesterday. Try simple Ibuprufin, but increase the dose to 800mg every 12 hours. The over-the-counter pills contain 200mg. You have to find out what is causing the pain, for goodness sake. It could be a torn miniscus, for example. Or perhaps there is fluid in the knee that has to be drained. See a physician.
I didnt think i was taking enough (max 400mg a day) to have the seizer side effect which is why i went cold turkey, but im now a bit concerened with the co codamol 30/500 as ive been on these 2 years and am on over 100 a month i didnt think these were addictive and my doctor seems to think taking those is fine, im so confused.i need to take something for my migranes and back problem i thought thses were all that were left well thats how the doctor put it.
side effects of tramadol ? I do experience: lots sweatings, I"m very angry, nervous, unhappy,..etc always like this unless I take at least 1/day, then I'm normal in a good or "ok" mood!!
Be VERY careful of this drug. I started taking one a day for moderate back pain. I felt LOADS better - until it started loosing effectiveness. Then I too started the slippery slope, but realized it and started looking into my "miracle drug". I realized there were a slew of side effects that I was writing off as pollen, dogs waking me up at night, too much manual work, bad diet, etc.

Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. Now I'm getting ready to quit this Hydrocodone, just a little scared from withdrawal and what to expect. will it be bad after just three months. averaged about 40 mgs. daily. I heard the Tramadol was worse, but it was nothing.
Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems.
Without it, I have to resort to Bentyl which has horrible side effects and then I need to take a valium or Klonipin to counteract the side effects. I am normally mobile and energetic on Tramadol and can leave the house, but on Bentyl I am sick in bed. Some relief from Bentyl, but not like Tramadol. When I don't take Tramadol, my only withdrawal is that I get extremely fatigue but that can also be from my IBS and pain.
Maybe a strategy for you would be not to say that the tramadol is too weak, but that it is causing you side effects? Maybe that will get you prescribed something as strong but more suitable. This whole concept of doctors prescribing in fear and patients being forced into game-playing when all they want is help is soul destroying. Fact is though you have been prescribed what is generally pervceived to be a strong medication.
i advise you all not to take it because it damages the brain and makes u another person, not to mention all the other side effects that are really bad. I would like to know other cases that have stopped or who knows someone who is trying to quit.

You are on far to much you are going to have to be watched medically because its such a high amount and the sooner the better ...What side effects are u having now ? Have you had seizures?
I am taking it along with Tamoxifen for pain relief and have had enough of the side effects that go with it ( hallucinations, mood swings, depression, lack of sleep etc) I thought I was the only one going through this and as I write this the tears of relief are streamimg down my face.
Tramadol is a very useful medication. It is a great alternative to opiate based medications, however it can be habit forming. The changes that it has on personalities differs person to person. However, someone who is addicted or dependent on Tramadol may be come paranoid and confrontational when they are unable to get the rx. They can even become violent and experience withdrawal symptoms, such as insomnia, chills, hot flashes, night sweats etc etc.
One of tramadol's side effects is that is CAN or MAY cause seizures. That side effect is neither dose dependent nor does it happen as a result of withdrawal. Some people are prone to seizures and most aren't. Unfortunately, it is hard to tell who is prone. There are people who have had seizures from it and they had been taking it for quite some time.
I had some side effects last year from tramadol like my head twitching so they switched me to vicodin after I persisted. It's actually hard to get any narcotics even if you are dying of pain.. which I do have with herniated/degenerative discs. It kinda ***** cuz i need something for pain.. then end up addicted to the suckers. someone told me though if you are on painkillers for a long time and then go off them any pain you may have is not as bad? Interesting. Anyway..
