Avatar f tn I've been taking hydrocodone/Lortab and tramadol for about 5-6 years, all doctor-prescribed for chronic pain. I've never taken more than prescribed over the life of each refill, although I sometimes take extra on worse days and less on others to make up for it. After doing some research about the w/d symptoms, I wonder how much of my chronic pain is due to fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis, and how much is due to w/d symptoms?
Avatar m tn sorry. I stopped tramadol yesterday. and today took lortab to try to dull detox. I don't know if all the "icky " will start when I stop the lortab? my kindle is broken so typing and mush brain do not make for a spectacularly great typing.

Avatar f tn ve had chronic back pain in L5-S1 for 23 years Tylenol 4, now Lortab for 5 years. I also have Hepatitis-C (stage 3 cirrohsis)- this month I fell again and now have a comprection fracture at L-2) My doctor still has me on Lortab 10/500 4 per day with Tramidol inbetween along with muscle relaxer. I know all this medication is killing my liver and I am single mother and just not ready to die. Please, please, tell me what pain medication would be safer for me to take.
Avatar f tn Tramadol W/D is worse to W/D from than Lortab, I have read this over and over from people who have withdrawn from both at different times. Please, please don't take them! They are soooo addicting and I they cause seizures, sometimes at very low doses. I have had several Grand Mal seizures since I started taking them, and I still can't stop. I am going to do the suboxone treatment.
Avatar f tn I have missed out on so much the last 2 years because of my addiction to lortab/tramadol. I lost my father to cancer I sat everyday watching him getting weaker and weaker, and right beside him I emotionally did as well.
Avatar n tn WHY ISNT THIS A LEVEL II or III Narcotic? And why in the hell would a doctor rather prescribe this than a vic or lortab. I AM NOT going to take these- some scary ****. Although I dont want to go back down the lortab road the only other thing I have to take is tylenol 3- dont really want to go down that road either. Its such a double edged sword being in pain but also knowing you are an addcit or have the potential to be.

Avatar n tn My husband is an ex-opiate/alcohol counselor. I have fibromyalgia and take lortab and tramadol for it. I have an overwhelming F-E-A-R of becoming addicted. I don't have side affects from the lortab. My doctor prescribes 60 10 mg per month and that's it for me. I don't buy anywhere else. I take three 50 mg of Tramadol per day. When I don't take the Tramadol I feel horrid - kind of disoriented and out of it.
Avatar f tn (10-15 a day). I have a script for 15-50mg tramadol. Should I use the tramadol to help ease the lortab comedown? Will it even help? Or should I go cold turkey? I've read other posts about tramadol, and don't know which way to go. I do know I want my life back, and I can't afford the down time of the painful withdrawls I get. Experienced advice would be greatly helpful.
Avatar f tn Does Tramadol have any negative side effects if currently taking Lortab? I've run out of script until refil tomorrow, all I have is the Tramadol; leary of taking it but don't want withdrawls either. Also, are the effects like that of Lortab or Percocet? Have to go to work and need to know what to expect. Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance.
Avatar f tn with the Lortab and Darvocet N100. It can be JUST as addicting as Lortab (tramadol works like an opiate and restricts the blood vessels in the brain that sensor pain like Lortab or Darvocet) the addiction usually starts because of the "high feeling" obtained from opiates. Do not think that just because it's not a controlled drug doesnt mean it isnt dangerous. (this is most definatly not me on a high horse.
1512059 tn?1298296573 the current "Emily" tramadol detox page? I've been tapering and decided to flush the last four pills. I will need something to do during my insomnia phase.
Avatar m tn my pain managment dr put me on new pain med called, nucynta, and has taken me off of lortab that i had been on for 4 year's and taking 6 a day, 2nd day off of them and thanks to my dr has me on prestique, ativan, librax and all ready had been taking flexarill. now i have had dihrrea realy bad, how long does this last? i was thinking since nucynta was stronger and a opiate that i would not have withdraw's??? can someone tell me how long this will last?
Avatar m tn If so, this is a MUCH stronger opiate than lortab and tramadol and very difficult to get off once on...It took me 8 months after my last surgery. There are other options for pain which your doc can discuss with you. If I could give you any piece of advice it would be to do your research (as it seems you are) before putting anything in your body....I wish that I had been more diligent...But hey-when we are sick and in pain and we just want to be better...Human.
Avatar n tn MsContin is alot stronger than Tramadol. Tramadol is a mild pain medication and MsContin is for severe chronic pain. Please be careful if you are switching... the MsContin will probably make you sleepy at first.
Avatar f tn I think someone I care about is addicted to Lortab. They take the 10/500's and average 13 of them in 24 hours. They are also taking Tramadol 50 mg and ambien, and ativan. Don't you think that 13 a day is a little excessive? They do have chronic pain, but really now is that much really necessary? RX is for 1 every 6 hours.
901372 tn?1242309047 -----Tramadol gives you constipation/stomach problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So skip them and go for lortab/vic,------- All opiates can cause constipation. Lortab/Vic’s are Opiates Don't ask me how I know. Joke, What does a mathamatition do for constipation? He works it out with a pencil!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn I'm 31 a mother of two married and I have been on lortab 10 and tramadol for over 2 years now. I am an addict my scripts never last and yesterday was the day I was finally forced to go cold turkey! I work a third shift job and I have my kids to keep up with! My husband is very supportive but his patience is running thin, I guess my question is how to subdue some of the withdrawal symptoms and continue my daily life?
Avatar f tn I have been taking 150-200 mgs for several years and took Lortab for 5-7 years before that. I have thrown my Lortab out and now am trying to totally get off tramadol. Should I go cold turkey? I only had one yesterday, instead of my normal 3-4, and am feeling very lethargic and very unmotivated - perhaps some light depression. Is this causing this?
771211 tn?1236784171 i would like to know from anyone that might know...is tramadol harder to kick than coming off of lortabs?? i take both tramadol & lortab...4 or 5 pills each every day. i'm also taking xanax...i really would love to get off of everything, so my life can be normal again. i guess i'm really more addicted to the xanax...as bad as i hate to admit it. can anyone help me???
Avatar m tn need to do own research) i stopped all med for 48 hrs and tramadol and prozac permantenly and immediatly began feeling better...i called my dr when i figured out what was wrong and her nurse said she (the doc) doesn't think i had that...i left her and every time i mention this story to docs i encounter they are blown away no-one helped me...
Avatar m tn Did I understand right that you used to take Lortab and started taking tramadol to get off the lortab ....and now you're taking lortab to get off the tramadol? If that's right, I'm thinking you should not take the lortab as you are just going in circles. It would serve you best to not used one drug in place of another. That's also a pretty high dose of tram and trams carry a seizure risk (I'm sure you know) so you will need to be very careful.
Avatar n tn from what i now of it, it is a very very weak narcotic. and from being here and reading posts they are very hard to get off of and even more dangeruos to get of off then loratbs. now i have never been on them my DOC was percs, so i really know nothing about them but from what i have read here they are pretty bad to come off of. so please be careful, and someone who knows more should be posting soon. wish you luck.
699217 tn?1323438700 I'll do my best..... Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab.
Avatar n tn I am recovered from an 8-year tramadol addiction. I just had a root canal done and they prescribed Lortab. Can I take 1 or 2 safely for this pain?
