Avatar m tn I am a professional and a well known in my community. and have had this secret addiction for 10 years off and on but now the time has come to quit after my addiction has gotten me in legal trouble manipulating a prescription. I knew this was coming...I have been off tramadol for a week but after two days of ct, I had a dental surgery which gave me me oxycodone which I have tried to use sparingly to deal with the withdrawals of tramadol.
1019316 tn?1262615059 I am taking tramadol/ultram for a few days to help my Kratom w/d and it helped a lot! I can sleep n stuff. I only got a 30 pill prescription that will last the 5 days I need to finally be totally off the Kratom! YEAH!! Will taking tramadol for 5 days cause you to withdrawal from the tramadol? Doesn't seem like it... that is a normal amount of time to have a script. BTW the Kratom w/d's were worse than methadone w/d's several yrs ago. but are pretty much gone with the ultram helping.
Avatar m tn m thinking about this pill combination and you may be able to drop the kratom and adderall then slowly (!!) taper off the Tramadol. But,it will take more than that to get over this chronic addiction. You need someone or something professional to help you. You may also be clinically depressed. If the company you work for found out you were sick, would they fire you?
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your suggestions and for your time. Tomorrow is my last day of tramadol and I am praying my kratom arrives tomorrow.
1909146 tn?1326505708 I took Kratom, but I also took two 100mg pills of Tramadol. I took 5 caps of Kratom and the Tramadol - 2X and I was OK, except I woke up at 5 am each day sweating and shaking and that's when I had to take the tramadol.. Kratom does not make me high.. it takes the WTHDRWL away somewhat and it makes me sleepy. I think that I will be able to function on Kratom only after few weeks, without anyone noticing that I am not well.. and than taper down from that too..
Avatar f tn Hi there, I was actually considering buying SAM E as well but wasn't sure how effective it is. I also came off tramadol and vicodin and find the depression bothersome however SAM E is quite expensive over here. It's like $20 for an 18 day supply. I did buy some 5 htp and tried it a couple if days and a doctor did prescribe me Elavil at a low dose but I haven't taken it yet as I'm scared of AD.
Avatar m tn I am disabled from my injuries and I have been on hydrocodone and it never took the pain away and I have take darvacet, percacet and to my surprise Tramadol works for me and my quality of life is so much better and I am 48 yrs old!!!
Avatar f tn We could be twins except I used hydro for two weeks, not Kratom. And I did a fast reduction before quitting the Tramadol (I went from 10 to 8 to 0 in two weeks), not quite ct. I have continued to take Immodium for this entire time pretty much. Today I didn't take any until evening, and I only took it because my legs started feeling restless after a nap. I was trying to go without today. I wonder if I just learned, as you may have, that my body still has some opiate wds to go through.
1269044 tn?1393189903 Also could explain the extreme depression and anxiety coming off kratom. And possibly why taking too much over long periods the good reverses. Now this is not why I chose to take the Zoloft but if kratom acts like an ssri as some say then it would make sense that an AD would offer almost immediate help with depression and anxiety. Now you all know I'm officially crazy!
Avatar f tn I'm going off Tramadol. 200mgs a day. And I read about this Kortum powder. Does it really help?
Avatar m tn You would think that I would have learned by now. I cold turkeyed off of Tramadol twice, the last time in 2009. Swore I'd never take another, and haven't, but oh how I love opiates. Why, why , why?? I cold turkeyed off a 150-200mg a day Percocet run last May. Stayed clean for 4 months, then my back flared back up and off to the Pain Clinic I went. This was back in November.
Avatar f tn GREAT advice! I'll reiterate what she said about not going back on tramadol and not trying Kratom. It has a high addiction as well. It's hard to believe that something natural could do that, but it can. I promise. I've never tried it, but I've read alot about it being abused. Dangerous stuff and shaky ground. If you truly don't want to get back on narcotics, stay away from the stuff. No tramadol. No kratom. No vicodin. No upping the klonopin. No NOTHING!
Avatar f tn I just went and bought a $20 bottle of kratom extract. It did help a little with body pains and im able to function but the anxiety is still there. Not looking forward to the morning. Thats hoping this helps me sleep. just trying to stay busy while I can. Thanks for answering btw.
Avatar n tn I live in Indonesia (Tramadol is OTC here) and there is a plant called Kratom (Mitragina speciosa) that people use here to mitigate the effects of opiate withdrawl. It helped me tremendously to alleviate the mental torture and cramping associated with Tramadol withdrawl. Kratom however is an addictive drug in it's own right and must be viewed as a temporary tool for recovery. It is a controlled substance in some countries in S.E. Asia. It's also the most foul tasting stuff around.
1269044 tn?1393189903 ve read are it may be similarto tramadol. This makes sense given my withdrawal length and the horrific anxiety and depression. A darkness I've never experienced. No matter what I kicked that mother-f##### a##!! Sorry just a little bit proud! The good news is there is an end to the nightmare of acute wds. It took me 11.5 days. Now I'm looking fwd to my 2 week anniversary.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the forum! Tramadol is a totally synthetic opioid and also has an antidepressant component in it so can be more difficult in some ways to w/draw from but can absolutely be done! I read in your other post that you get these pills online...which also means you aren't guaranteed what's actually in them, ya know? Using Kratom is probably not a good idea....
Avatar f tn I've seen this Kratom brought up before, and I don't think I heard good things about it. Perhaps look into the archives for more info on it.
Avatar m tn I took an herb called kratom for back pain and started feeling abdominal pain in my right side and yellowing eyes. After that I quit taking it and did research and found that it has given a few people liver problems like intrahepatic cholestasis. I got a blood test last month and it showed my bilirubin was high and my alkaline phosphatase was low. They sent me to a specialist who did an ultrasound and found nothing and wanted to do more test when I got my insurance.
1269044 tn?1393189903 Great Job on 10 days..Just keep stepping up those stairs and do not fall back wards..OK It even will get better as time is our healer...
5549258 tn?1449083082 But like I said on your thread yesterday....you have tried Tramadol, Kratom, Weed, and Lyrica to avoid feeling w/drawals. That mentality is dangerous for us addicts....I'm SO glad you are off everything now and not toying with your opiate receptors for the past couple of days. Once you have more than 48 hrs off any drugs that affect your central nervous system and opiate receptors...the clarity and healing will progress quickly. It's VERY admirable that you have made it 9 days....
199177 tn?1490498534 Pharmacutical Companies pay people to sell it to doctors, they pay the doctors to sell it to the patients, they pay the FDA to keep it legal, and they got plenty of money to do all that paying, because we are addicted to the crud and have to have it, or SUFFER! And Tramadol is by far the sneakiest and one of the most dangerous drugs, because it is, oh so easy, to get it. Then you get people popping 35 pills at once. People taking 20-30 pills per day.
Avatar f tn I am a 58 year old Viet era vet myself......Welcome Home!....and I used the kratom - - there is at least one concern about the kratom - - one instance that I know of the user had big problems from an herbicide on the leaf - - I used the 10x and 15x concentrates with no problems. Unfortunatly the sleep is about the last thing to come back. Hot showers / baths will be good right now ....maybe a heat pad or electric blanket for abdominal cramps and restless leg syndrome.
Avatar n tn t a true opiate, but does it work on the same receptors? I am 3 days off a .5 gram heroin habit per day and I used Kratom first for withdrawals (along with Xanax) then started taking small doses of Subutex. If the Kratom will work whilst taking subs, I would like to try that. I can tell you this was probably the best detox I've done (I've done it a fair few times with just Subutex; sometimes with Xanax as well). The Kratom really seemed to make the difference.
1178983 tn?1279663655 Hey, how's it going.. I responded to your other question about Tramadol just Recently.. I had an addiction to Tramadol for a good 3 years.. I also dabbled in harder opiates when I ran out of tramadol to cover the withdrawals.. I ended up withdrawing from stronger opiates such as Oxycodone and buprenorphine because of this.. and the withdrawal from those were easier for me to go through than the tramadol withdrawal.. .
Avatar f tn I went to one doctor and told him about my Tramadol problem and he denied it being addictive in any way. Ummmm.....on my 3rd day (yes...just 2 days ago) I was in the ER because of vomiting and severe dehydration which also caused a severe drop in my beats per minute and I was put on cardiac watch. Tramadol withdrawals are NOT fun....of course NO withdrawal is. The thing with Tramadol is that it also contains an antidepressant as well...or something that acts as such.
1269044 tn?1393189903 you can read a lot online about how wonderful kratum isyou can also be like I was and want to believe that as an addict you can use something like kratom and not abuse it. will there be that one magical person that could do it and come out on the other side shining sure. But what are the odds of that person being you. It's more likely you'll be like me become addicted to something else. Have something else control your life just like pills alcohol heroin whatever.
