Then I went to a phycologist and talked to her about my eating dissorder and then told her about the tramadol and how it helpped me to curb my hunger. But in my experience after four days things begin to improve and you begin to take ownership of your mind and body again. To help with the withdrawals drink grapefruit juice as this helps to get toxins out of the body, vitamin and mineral supplements or a vitamin tonic, an antehistamine (drowsy) taken at night will also keep your sinuses clear, drink plenty of fluids and have warm baths and eat healthy. Ibuprofen also help with the muscle aches and fever and remember throughout IT WILL END.
Grapefruit does not even affect the TX drugs ive heard and never does lemons...BUT...
Good Evening Tramadol Warriors! Welcome. Please come on in. You are most welcome to snuggle in and make yourself cozy & comfortable. It can be a rough ride. But better with friends. All are welcome!
Please make yourself at home and snuggle down. It will be a bit bumpy, but worth it!
Several organic compounds found in grapefruit and specifically in grapefruit juice exert inhibitory action on drug metabolism by the enzyme. It has been established that a group of compounds called furanocoumarins are responsible for this interaction and not flavonoids as was previously reported.
Sounds like your gallbladder is very sick! You might try drinking some oil and grapefruit juice to relieve some of the pain.
Did you have to take it with grapefruit juice or Tagamet heartburn meds to make it work right? I really want to get off the pulls but I can't have the "flu" for 5-7 days. I have 2 little ones to take care of and a full time job. Were you guys able to go about your everyday lives by just taking the Immodium?
They only last a few seconds. The build and peak like labor pains. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on so I have time to brace myself. I'll set down whatever it is i'm holding and get ready. I have to cross my legs, bend my knees, hold on to something, clench my body tight, and try to breathe. Thank God it only lasts a few seconds. My 14 yr. old son witnessed it yesterday and tried to call 911. I kept signaling him not to. I knew it wouldn't last long. My gyno.
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried message therapy, it helps but only for a short period. And I have tried changing my pillows on my bed and sleeping in different positions and nothing seems to help for long term. What can I do?
However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
Take pain relief tablets to bring down the fever. Plenty to drink, your juice and water, and rest. With the ringing and clicking it may be a congestion. If it doesn't settle down you may need an antibiotic. To help relieve the congestion you can do steam inhalations by breathing in steam. Pour hot water into a bowl with some Vick or Olbas oil, with a towel over your head and the bowl lean over and breathe in the steam. Or you can get some nasal spray to help to decongest.
Other sodas that say citrus might too, because grapefruit is cheap juice. I am on a PPI and ranitidine, plus occasionally need coating stuff like sucralfate, so my gerd meds are more extreme than some. I am guessing, but things that coat like tums, bismus, sucralfate might be more of an issue than PPI's and Zantac for some that are just adjusting to gaba. Just timing the gaba an hour or two before or after gerd stuff would help consistency rather than at same time.
My only restictions are grapefruit juice, apple juice and Seville oranges. I feel I can handle that. lol. Yes the first shot angst is crazy. I want the treatment asap so I can clear it and get on with the fun side of life. Traveling, horse riding, etc... I have copies of everything in a binder and I understand so much more doing due dilligence on my own with results in hand. I will keep my wonderful friends informed and thanks again!
Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. To reduce your doeage take it with grapefruit juice, which extends the half-life and enables the same effect with 1/2 the dose. Read some of the books by Dr. Thomas Szasz on "The Therapeutic State". Prosecuting oxycontin users is a high priority, unfortunately, and be careful always to use your own prescriptions kept in the original bottle and never take them on an airplane. It is not a good long-term pain killer.
The difference this time is I've been taking about 1/2 to 1 mg of xanax twice a day and 1mg right before bed along with nyquil and imodium. Im drinking lots of cranberry juice, forcing myself to eat, bathe, and get outside even if for a drive or short walk. exercise too. it releases the endorphins in your brain that makes you feel happiness and gives you energy. I honestly have had very little withdrawal symptoms at all this time.
The main scar is still sore on the inside and by later in the day I get pain down the left side, still have the shelf overhanging which hoping with time and eventually some exercise will go, still quite bloated but this comes and goes seems to get worse later in the day. Hormones have been all over the place as well. I have had a first period since the op and the pain was still horrendous but assume this is everything settling down again.

A throat specialist went down with a scope and said everything was normal. My doctor diagnosed allergy or sinus problems, and possible asthma, and put me on antihistamines and an asthma inhaler. None of it worked. Then she put me on Claritin D and it seemed to work for at least a year. Then it came back again and she put me on a different brand of Claritin D-like medication. Nothin'. Then I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux. They put me on Prevacid which worked again, for about a year.
I can't get in to see the doctor so I have been taking anti-oxidants, colloidal silver, and I also made a spray with filtered water and grapefruit seed extract (GSE) and have been applying it to the sore areas every few hours. The area on my face is already getting better (in about 12 hours) but the area on my hip is still hurting pretty bad. I also try to take extra good care of myself when this happens: rest, drink plenty of fluids, etc.
I did a liver cleanse and ordered a gold coin grass tincture to soften up any stones in there, and have been drinking gallons of organic apple juice. The pain comes and goes, but I've been on a diet for the past week to try to keep the pain away, I'm not eating red meats or fatty foods. Mostly all fruits and salads and fresh vegetable and fruit juices.
It's been almost 2 weeks since my laproscopic surgery, I have learned alot both from experiencing it and talking to ya'll here on the forum. Time to share, because just maybe somebody is about to go through the same thing and has questions or needs help. It would be great if everyone added their two cents and we will have a nice "what to expect when your expecting laproscopic surgery" list...lol 1. Don't be fooled, this is major surgery. You could be having body parts removed.
I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
Thanks to Duchess47, Wepst and JDanMan for your comments and suggestions. I will seriously look into all of your suggestions and hope that it's just some seasonal allergy thing. Thanks again.
