Avatar f tn Can I start the Lyrica while still on the patches and Tramadol and How can I reduce the Tramadol while continuing Fentayl with the Lyrica with minimalTramadol withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn I was given my first dose of Lyrica last night and I slept brilliantly for once, today I've been very sleepy and when I took a nap I couldn't stand up when I awoke because my hip just flared up so badly I couldn't even walk. Luckily I am in hospital, so they gave me morphine straight away and its feeling much better. I really don't know very much about Lyrica and I'd like to hear what some people have experienced with it.
Avatar f tn I have been taking 10x325 hydrocodone and 100mg tramadol for chronic pain. I was recently given an option to try the fentanyl patch. It scard me so badly i took it off after a month and a half use. The withdrawal was THE most horrific i have ever been thru. Compared to methadone it was scary! So i decided to go back to the hydrocodone and tramadol for this month. Knowing it would be a hard month for me with pain but needed time to think about my options. Now im not sure where to go.
Avatar n tn ve been on the fentanyl patchs 50mg every 3 days for 3 or 4 years. Valium--on and off for 25 years. The pain dr is cutting my patches to 25mg and slowly tapering me off them. They no longer provide any type of relief, due to being on the same dose for so many years. The dr seemed more concerned about the valium. Today I started taking 15mg istead of 20mg. How long should I stay at 15mg before cutting back to 10mg??
Avatar f tn Fentanyl is hard to come off, even if you taper it. I don't think Tramadol will help much, and that drug comes with its own demons. Even if you're not an addict, you are dependent, andI would suggest checking out the Substance Abuse forum as it has lots of tips on what helps withdrawal symptoms. I'd be surprised if you came away with none. The Clonidine will help with some withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn Vicodin,Percocet and Fentanyl was simpler to come off than Tramadol. Just my opinion but stay away from Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Im not comfortable with fentanyl cuz its so strong and have to bite the bullet and so a med switch to something diffrent for a med break. Just looking at all my options.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am a chronic back pain sufferer - have been for 16 years. Was put on Tramadol in 1998 after 2 back surgeries. Stayed on low dose for a good number of years. In 2005 pain started getting worse and Tramadol was upped until I was taking the "maximum" dose - 400mg a day. This wasn't enough to stop the pain and although it didn't really change things, pain wise, I was taking 600-700mg a day.
1200968 tn?1291691019 Thank you all for your support. I truly hope it does get better hydro...I actually got a energy drink earlier and it boosted me up a little bit. Sometimes it's the small things that matter. To Lady, I would try to explain to my MD.
Avatar f tn I can not find a substitute for Darvocet 100. Am taking Lortab and Fentanyl 25 MCG/hr patch. I was also taking Darvocet. I have tried COD # 3 and Tramadol HCL 100 mg. What next? My pain comes from peripheral neuropathy, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalga, severe osteoporosis, limbs where metal has been needed to fix breaks, arthritis. From one to 10, I am a 10 and can only get down to a lowest of 5 now. That is not bearable. Has someone found a sub for D that helps?
1452289 tn?1285614948 i broke my back 2 yrs ago and as a result of the surgery i now have foot drop which means i have to lift my right foot higher so i dont trip over it, now i get chronic pain in my left hip and my whole back.
633961 tn?1222615789 its highly addictive wd is really bad when you stop taking it .
Avatar m tn wrist and broke some ribs and collatr bone. I been on percozet. tramadol vicodin7.5/750,oxycodone 5mg,ms contin and fentanyl patches. My question is my fam. doc dont like the short acting meds. so he is the one that put me on ms contin and later fentanyl patches. The ms contin did not do much for pain relief so my pain spe. told me to try suboxone. So right now the only thing i take is suboxone and finding out this is really hard to get off. Can i with help off vicoprofen 7.
Avatar n tn If you are experiencing those withdrawal symptoms now you should most likely bite that bullet and stop the fentanyl. Like worried said - your Doc can fix you up with some things to make it more comfortable. Fentanyl is a ferociuos withdrawal - but its not as long as methadone or sub or tramadol.........
614471 tn?1221179194 hi there could anyone give me advice on tramadol and fentanyl addiction. i am currently on 75mcg/hr fentanyl patch which i change every 24 hours and i also take 8 50mg tramadol daily. i take the pain meds due to my knees which im waitng to have replaced but ive been waiting now for 18 months and am so so scared of coming off the drugs as im frightened that i will go into w/d.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
Avatar m tn I would be very careful with tramadol and the medications being taken concurrently with it. I took it approximately a little over two and a half years and then out of the blue was hospitalized with severe grand-mal seizures not once but twice. My physician later told me that seizures are quite common with tramadol therapy and that risk increases with increased time of use.
Avatar n tn i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal. i am worried that the tramadol and ibuprofen could damage my liver. i only take 7.5-750mg vicodin. wouldnt it be better to just take the vicodin again?
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I quit Fentanyl ct 20 days ago. Went through pure hell. I saw my Dr. on day 12 and asked him for a "mild pain reliever" to help with my chronic pain. He prescribed Tramadol 50mg 3 times a day. I started taking it on Sunday (nor knowing it was an opiate) and now I feel like I am getting worse instead of better. Is it possible the Tramadol is hindering my recovery?
19164880 tn?1473283520 I have just come of Actiq and Fentanyl patch and understand your situation. I have decided not to opt for opiates except iv morphine if required for severe pain in hospital only for life threatening situation e.g. complete obstruction of the bowel. I have looked to alternative ways of pain management. It will not take the pain away only manage it. I found fentanyl did not alleviate all pain hence the actiq and that just gave a feel good factor (prescribed for cancer).
Avatar f tn - MS Contin (Extended Release Morphine), - Nucynta ER (ER Nucynta) - Ultram ER (ER Tramadol, brand) - Opana ER (Extended Release Oxymorphone) - OxyContin (Extended Release Oxycodone) - Exalgo (ER Dilaudid) - BuTrans Patch (ER Buprenephrine) - Fentanyl Patch (ER Fentanyl) MS Contin, Opana ER, and OxyContin are typically prescribed 2-3 times per day or every 8 to 12 hours. Exalgo is prescribed every 24 hours. The BuTrans patch last 7 days and the Fentanyl patch lasts 48-72 hours.
Avatar f tn and they just did not really work. After my surgery I was on a fentanyl patch with a Dilaudid IV and oxycodone by pills every 8 hours (along with the tram I snuck in the hospital w/me), and STILL felt every movement in my neck for days. So It's a med that on its own may not seem strong at first, but it bulds tolerance fast and the anti-depressant additive makes it like 2 meds in one; thus creating additional w/d symptoms when trying to get off it. There are some states in the U.S.
Avatar f tn Do you think that the Fentanyl or combo of Fentanyl and Norco helped in suppressing your appetite any? Hope your evening is pain free!!
Avatar f tn t replace one drug for another so nix the lortab and Tramadol. I wish you great luck on getting of the fentanyl.
