Avatar f tn Hi, I am doing the same as you, and am now on wellbutrin 300 sr, along with Lamictal 200MG, and down to 37.5 effexor from 225. I want to taper to 25 and then be off it but it seems the last tapering is somehow the hardest. for two weeks, I have tried and get into crying, zaps, depression..so I am going to ask for Tramadol.
376940 tn?1241682007 Tramadol will cause seizures in high amounts and when you add a drug that will add to the effects of the tramadol like Effexor XR does then your adding the risk of getting seizures. I have had a seizures from the tramadol and I fell and busted my head open prertty good and was in the hospitial for three days so please be very careful. Go back to your doctor and get him to give you a different pain medication. Better safe than sorry.
Avatar f tn Hi, I take Tramadol for my chronic back pain. Initially my pain Dr. did not want to prescribe Tramadol for me since I take Effexor for depression. But after taking so many pain meds, and needing to try a new one, he agreed to let me try Tramadol slowly. The Tramadol has worked well for me, and luckily I didn't have any problems with the combination of drugs. Actually the Tramadol has really helped my mood ( I think because of the snri). So I have started to taper off the Effexor.
Avatar f tn I wondered if there was a similarity between Tramadol and Effexor! I was put on Effexor after my dad suddenly passed away and I was taking alot of Tramadol during that time as well. After I'd begun taking it, I felt less need to take Tramadol but had the thought that something was similar between the two drugs. Unfortunately my personality and everything else changed for the worse causing me to lose my relationship with my fiance'.
1128565 tn?1316721143 s chemical structure is very different. The closest relative to Effexor is tramadol. I know Tramadol already been used for Effexor withdrawal due to their similarities. Tramadol possesses weak agonist actions at the μ-opioid receptor, releases serotonin, and inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine.
Avatar f tn The next step was Tramadol. I have been on Tramadol now for a year and a half. I used to take between 300 and 400 mg daily. I loved the energy and the well-being I felt with this drug. I now understand that the drug acts upon the brain much as a Effexor does. My decrease in dosage of Effexor over the last year was being compensated by the T. I have reduced my dosage of Tramadol down to 150 mg daily now and I am experiencing severe depression.
Avatar f tn never quite getting the relief I needed. My Doctor added Seroquel and Tramadol -very low dose- and boom...have never felt better. I have taken this combo for over two years. Some days , I forget the Efexxor 35 mg and those are the only days I feel irritated and bad. I really think I need to get this med out of my system, as it never worked well, and because I take such a low dose now, it prob. is doing nothing. my doctor is fine with a slow taper, but now I dread the withdrawls.......any ideas?
4757133 tn?1358797625 I also take Effexor 150mg XR in the morning. And 100mg Effexor tablet (generic) in the afternoon. I also take a 150mg of wellbutrin at about 10am. Now I'm taking a 50mg dose of tramadol for dental problems. And occaisenly a m357 vicodin. Also a bunch of b vitamins and c vitamins. I also drink a lot. And really with what dental work I've had done this past week hardly ate anything in a week. Anyone have any commits on this? Just checking out other thoughts. Thanks.
1433412 tn?1283437685 I've made it to 3 weeks clean from tramadol but the past week I feel like I hate My life more and more every day. I'm so stressed out. My job is overwhelming and I'm job searching but that has been very frustrating as well. The holidays make me depressed and stressed out also. I am taking Effexor and have been for a while so I'm already covered on the antidepressant.
1128565 tn?1316721143 You don't have to ask for melatonin, it is sold in health food store. A medication that you can ask for for temporary use is tramadol (usually a low will be more suitable for you to prevent opiate addiction, so you can ask for tramacet which is 37.5mg tramadol and 325mg acetaminophen) since it's really close to Effexor and it already been used to make the Effexor withdrawals less intense.
4753943 tn?1359934569 Sooo some people on here know I've been on Vicodin detox for a little over a week. I am on day 9 without Vicodin. My intense back pain never stopped. I saw a different doctor than the one who freely prescribed me whatever I pleased, because I no longer trust her. This doctor today, felt my entire back and she said there were so many muscle spasms everywhere I felt. She actually called the whole situation crazy. I told her I am on day 9 of Vicodin detox.
Avatar n tn YES,YES tramadol is very addicting and difficult to stop because of the antidepressant action similar to effexor.Even if most of the literature and medical people say it is a mild opiate....it still is very addictive and builds a tolerance quickly. Some people have withdrawals even at recommended doses in as little as a few weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi. I wanted to know if anyone experienced this. I am taking 375mg effexor xr and tramadol for arthritis in my hip it is a pain medication. I am 46 yrs. old never got in trouble with anything until I started taking the effexor xr nothing phases me. So what do I do I have been stealing from my friends i stole a ring, now i am going to court for it I admitted to it. So my friends are not my friends because it is a circle of neighbors that all hang out.
Avatar f tn m currently 3 weeks out since taking the sub after jumping off tramadol and I still have good and bad days/nights. Muserelaxers can help some with sleep.
Avatar f tn Tell us about your addiction without all the details of using and we can help you to find a better way. We can suggest some home remedies and give you support. Tramadol is a nightmare waiting to happen. There are other ways.
983592 tn?1249762935 I had to stop cold turkey from over 375mgs a day on Effexor to zero, rather than the 6 week withdrawal and it was worse than heroine withdrawal. (not that I have ever done heroine but that;s what they told me) It was extremely difficult and the psychosis was horrendous. Just the brain wanting the drug back again. It wasn't even a valium based one! ( I had heart issues and was told my dose was a mistake..after 8 years!!!!!!
Avatar n tn Thank you for the feedback. I am getting more and more suspicious of tramadol, and inclined to ask my doc about effexor. I am on Cymbalta and welbutrin, and I am afraid that the welbutrin is contributing to this horrid anxiety that is going along with the depression.
Avatar f tn Like most of you I was put on Effexor to help with a depressing, stressful time in my life. That was 15 years ago and may I add about 75 pounds less ago. I have gained a tremendous amount of weight taking this drug. At 55, I am trying to eat clean, exercise, lose weight and get in better physical condition. I have wanted to stop taking this drug but just like all of you the side effects were so bad I kept going back on them after usually one to two days.
1544088 tn?1293661019 nope ive never heard of tramadol. what is it? and if I took it would i get hooked on it to like effexor. Thank god i'm lucky enough to have time to just lay in bed and recover. hopefully it will get easier soon though its really horribel.. and 450 mg thats a lot! is that even legal??? Well hopefully you will be able fto find a way that works for you to get off this foul drug its not worth being on it!
Avatar m tn If you have those kinds of continuing problems ask your doctor if depression needs to be treated. Unfortunately, both tramadol and Effexor are meds that need to be tapered down over time. I did a month-long taper with Tramadol and still had five days of he//. This is YOUR health! Don't let ANYONE stop you from getting well! This takes some time, but no more than a long flu. Live through it and be free!
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 27 yrs old, and have been addicted to hydrocodone and tramadol for the better part of 5 years. It first started with shoulder surgery and continued on recreationally. I had a prescription for tramadol for over 3 years, and it has now run out. I still have access to hydrocodone and tramadol, without a prescription. I'm basically fed up with my whole life and routine revolving around medication. Not to mention, the financial drain due to the addiction.
647120 tn?1256601651 Thanks everyone for your concern and support. This forum is the best. And I wish no one else would suffer coming off of Effexor like I did. Who knew. I was careful and tapered off as directed and still had problems.
Avatar m tn some here have had that symptom and some have not. It is a wd symp. for both tramadol and zoloft. I got a double wammy.
