Avatar f tn If i took i tramadol last night at 8:00, Is it safe to take a darvocet today at 3:00 ?
Avatar f tn It is recommended that patients physically dependent on pain killers take their medication regularly to prevent onset of withdrawal symptoms and this is particularly relevant to tramadol because of its SSRI and SNRI properties, and, when the time comes to discontinue their tramadol, to do so gradually over a period of time that will vary according to the individual patient and dose and length of time on the drug.
Avatar f tn I was currently prescribed darvocet for pain but it was taken off the market. Since I haven't had anything. My doc gave me tylenol 3 but it made me sick. He then prescribed tramadol but I didn't fill it after I've read about the terrible withdrawal symptoms. Is there anything else that isn't real strong or addicting that is similar to darvocet?
Avatar f tn I would think her nephrologist would be more concerned if she is taking anything that may be harmful to the kidneys... Acetaminophen is found in Lortabs and Darvocet, and Tramadol is contraindicated for anyone with kidney problems. Phenergan has a sedating effect at high dosages and is also sometimes given for nausea (which she may be experiencing due to renal disease). In any case, Lortabs, Darvocet, and Tramadol are all opioids and should be addressed by the methadone counselor.
Avatar n tn So, I have been around and around since I was 20 with these withdrawals. First let me say I have been on methadone and gone through those withdrawals. That's pure hell. Now I've been on Darvocet for 3 weeks to get off Tramadol. And I'm wondering, since they are structurally the same, are the Darvocet withdrawals the same as methadone? Can I plan on going through withdrawals for the next 7-9 weeks?
Avatar f tn I used to take Darvocet. I can not take Tramadol because of other drugs I'm on for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Both Hydrocone/APAP and Percot/APAP work for me as good as Darvocet - better actually because Darvo gave me stomach problems.
Avatar m tn Darvocet is a complete different drug than hydrocodne or ultram. I do not see how this is possible unless thee was a mix up or you took a darvocet and forgot.
Avatar f tn Am taking Lortab and Fentanyl 25 MCG/hr patch. I was also taking Darvocet. I have tried COD # 3 and Tramadol HCL 100 mg. What next? My pain comes from peripheral neuropathy, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalga, severe osteoporosis, limbs where metal has been needed to fix breaks, arthritis. From one to 10, I am a 10 and can only get down to a lowest of 5 now. That is not bearable. Has someone found a sub for D that helps?
Avatar n tn I have heard that Darvocet has Tylenol in it which can be damaging to your liver. How much Darvocet and for how long do you have to take it before it hurts your liver? I appreciate any truthful info anyone can give me. I know alot of these posts are people who just tell what they think and not what the facts are.
401095 tn?1351391770 I keep reading on here that tramadol can be very addictive...she also has darvocet and when I told her about the dangers of tramdol, she started on the darvocet and states that neither of these drugs make her high...I have also taken both i the past for pain and no high but am scared to take them right now...It is like I feel my receptors will stay dirty! dumb but I only have 5 days to get ok and go back to work...Any input...has anyone used either of these to decrease WDs? I ma taking .
Avatar m tn I wanted to get off Tramadol so I quit taking it 4 days ago and am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and having a hard time forcing fluids. Although I'm a nurse, I want someone to take care of me now! I was taking two 50mg Tramadol three times a day for a year and a half. I am seeing my PCP this Tuesday and was wondering what I can ask her about helping me these horrible unrelenting anxiety attacks and what is there that I can take for this daily chr pain that is not addictive.
Avatar n tn tramadol is stronger than darvocet and as sandee says it is completely unrelated to any anti-inflammitories nick
Avatar f tn with the Lortab and Darvocet N100. It can be JUST as addicting as Lortab (tramadol works like an opiate and restricts the blood vessels in the brain that sensor pain like Lortab or Darvocet) the addiction usually starts because of the "high feeling" obtained from opiates. Do not think that just because it's not a controlled drug doesnt mean it isnt dangerous. (this is most definatly not me on a high horse.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to ween myself off of Hydrocodone......also I can't get a refill yet....so I'm using my brother's Darvocet that he isn't using anymore....I have migraines and neck/back pain.....but I also know that I am hooked on pain killers...but taking 2 Darvocet seems to make me feel just as good as taking a vicodin and I thought that it wouldn't work as well. Has anyone else had any similar experiences? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn My son takes Tramadol and tolerates it just fine. He is also allowed up to 600 mg of ibuprofen at a time. These don't give him any other problems for the POTS.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to ask you about your post here about Tramadol/Ultracet.... I have been taking 3/4 to 1 and 1/2 pill a day for about 2 months now, and I am 6 months pregnant. My back Dr. prescribed them to me last year and I had some left over, I take them because of my chronic back pain. My OB doesn't know I take them, she knows I did for almost 2 months before i knew I was pregnant and said to stop and gave me one script for a few Darvocet instead....
Avatar f tn i am currently tapering and i went to my famly doctor and got librium and darvocet for w/d symptoms. it takes the edgr off. my older sister has the pills and gives then at the appropiate times. find or go to your family doc or obgyn nd tell them, they will help you.
271872 tn?1238590391 100mgs of darvocet is equivalent to 650mgs of aspirin, so that right there kind of gives you a clear image of how damn weak darvocet really is. its crazy that it i still around, let alone taken, and a scheduled drug.even tramadol and codeine, which are both very weak opiates are way stronger than darvon. For the fentanyl patches and the wds, I would taper down slowly then explain to the doctors whats going on and they will def.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant now and finally weaned off the tramadol and the drs I am seeing dont know what to do with me anymore. I can barely get out of bed anymore let alone make it through a work day. I understand that they don't know what to give me anymore because of the baby and its health, but I'm just frustrated of barely being able to do anything from the pain. Trying massage and tens unit now, but nothing helps. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Vic's for 4 yrs and have tried many attempt to quit, yet failed. This time I am 6 days sober but I made the mistake of replacing it with tramadol. Did some research and found that it's not the best way Bc you too can be addicted. What can I do for w/d I have two small children and a husband with a full time 6day work week. any recommendations. I don't take tramadol too often but only these 6 days off Vic's ? Today I have not taken anything but B12&alieve.
464393 tn?1206755395 This is a very poor choice because the withdraws of tramadol are often as long and as extreme as methadone. Vicodin, subutex, (or perhaps darvocet IF used less than 1 month) should be the drugs of choice for someone coming off methadone maintenance. IF you are looking to get off of tramadol you definately should not quit cold turkey. Weaning off is more acceptable but is still described as very unpleasant by many users.
Avatar f tn I had never, and I mean NEVER experienced depression before, and I have a new understanding and sympathy for people who experience this terrible, debilitating problem!!! When darvocet was taken off the market and tramadol was prescribed to me, I almost felt like my old self! I wasn't totally delusional though. I new this feeling was a chemically enhanced one. Unfortunately, I liked it too much to share this with my doctor.
Avatar f tn yes I am talking about my boyfriend now he is taking darvocet and drinking with tthe tramadol, i am scared
Avatar m tn I have found myself taking one just to relieve those symptom I am concerned that I am dependant on the tramadol and it doesnt look like I am going to get rid of the pain, and the need, any time soon. I have allergic reactions to other more common pain meds such as vicodin and darvocet so my options are limited for pain control. At this point I really dont feel I have many options but I am wondereing what the future may bring when it is time to stop.
Avatar f tn Honey, all of us on this forum has endometriosis....We all take different medications and some of us none at all b/c of side effects. Personally, I've been on vicodin and darvocet. Nothing really helps me and I can't take anything strong b/c we have 2 young kids and DH and I both work. I usually end up taking 800mg of ibuprofen and deal with it as hard as that is to do. Have you had a laparoscopy done? Did it help you any?
