Should I be worried? The tramadol is to be taken as needed, the Cymbalta for pain and anxiety, and the Adderall for ADHD. I just started the first two. I took one tramadol with tylenol at 7pm. almost four hours later, I took Cymbalta (which she gave me to replace my usual dose of Effexor). The only time I take Adderall is early afternoon or In the morning. Is it bad that I'm on these three things together?
They had me on cymbalta (anti-depressant) and then put me on tramadol (the worst drug on the planet in my opinion) and the tramadol isn't only a synthetic opiate, it's also an anti-depressant - so there's a serious risk of raising the serotonin levels in your brain that can cause seizures (it's called serotonin syndrome). And because you're also on the lexapro, that's why the pharmacist warned you and needed an okay from the Dr. And vicki is right - talk to you Dr.
I took Cymbalta for 4 yrs and finally just got off of it. While Cymbalta did help manage both my depression and muscle pain, the side effects were what i hated about it. I never had digestion problems from it, but my stomach hurt constantly and my appetite disappeared. Eating became a chore and if i got distracted with school/work responsibilities, i would forget to eat, sometimes for 2 days. I also developed hyperhydrosis and always had a chemical/metalic taste in my mouth.
I am to take 60mg Cymbalta 1x daily (I've already been on this for awhile) and 75mg Lyrica 2x daily I had a bad reaction taking Cymbalta and Savella together so am leery of trying another combination, but my PM doctor seems to think this will work. We are in a "trial and error" stage right now...and I'm so sick of feeling like a lab rat! I also worry about weight gain...
So I'm hooked on tramadol, without which I can't really walk with my back and the detox is hell, and living in a country where I can get them cheaply, without a prescription, at about 50 locations within a 5 minute walk to my house. Good news: they do have AA here! Bad news: NOT IN INGLES, and my lazy butt hasn't learned Spanish yet. I've tried quitting cold turkey a few times and haven't made in more than 2-3 days. I'm still not drinkin though.
I am also concerned that she would prescribe both Cymbalta and Tramadol because they can have a major drug interaction. They both have anti depressants in them and can really increae your serotonin levels but then again I'm not a doctor and she is. It is usually avoided to prescribe both though. Are you tapering off of the Effexor and then starting Cymbalta or are you just going to start the Cymbalta?
I have been on tramadol off and on for 3 years. I say off and on because when the scrip run's out is is usually for about 2 weeks, then I get it again. I sure wish I was strong anough to not get the scrip I have coming in 5 or 6 day's. Tapering off, weening yourself is best way, unless ther is ultra rapid detox, which, I do nont know about you, but I KNOW I cannot aford. I do not have a good support team here to help me. My husband is an alcholic (spledd right of course).

Hi Friends; Holy Mother of Tramadol FOG! Early morning and all morning has been ... the height of suckiness. It got better once I just cried. I felt better after that. I think now alot of the emotional stuff is hitting me. I'm not numbed by a drug and I have 5 years of emotional cellular storage to work thru I think. May I Trust Higher Power to restore me to sanity!? I got an email this morning from my Mother who says she's coming here in September? I can't even think that far in advance.
I'm feeling much better now and will have a talk with my MD that prescribed the Cymbalta and tramadol. By the way I did go to the ER and was having MAJOR anxiety at the time with these things happening to me! Thanks for the input!
Hello iam new here I am taking tramadol 50 mgs, neurontin 300mg,hydrocodon-acetaminoph,a pain patch of 25mcg/hr and cymbalta 90 mg. And my Dr. Wants me to take effexor xr 75mg in lu of cymbalta (the cymbalta was given to me by a shrink for pain control) but I am told that effexor xr n tramadol don't mix.
For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...as what works for some may not be right for others.
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
More will be coming along in a few hours and their are plenty of people here who have experience with tramadol,as well as cymbalta and wellbutrin.Congratulations on getting off the narco and for making the decision to want to live a drug free life, thats great.....All the best...
There is one med that I have heard directly from people that works on depression, pain and helps sleep....Trazadone. Cymbalta is an FDA approved medicine for Fibromyalgia (FM), anxiety, and pain. It works on keeping Serotonin (mood) where it is needed and Norepinephrine which works on pain chemicals to stay in the brain where needed. I think I'm going to try it again, or Trazadone. When I first took Cymbalta I did not know I was in the throws of Lymes disease.
I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have been under treatment for about 3-4 months. All of the sudden the past three weeks my legs have been shaking uncontrolably and can barely bare my weight. I am almost 30 and about 5'6" and weigh about 125. I also have endometreosis and have had 4 miscarriages along with migraines and R L S.
I am almost 30, I'm getting my PhD from a fantastic university, I'm a gal, I am single, I have a wonderful family, and I know way too much psychopharmacology and neuroscience. Lastly, I requested to enter outpatient treatment for DXM abuse about a month and a half ago. It's an amazing program, and I want to share what I'm learning with those that desire it. I started DXM in September when I had a terrible upper respiratory infection and took Robitussin, thinking nothing of it.
Has she been prescribed anti depressants? Some help with pain and energy like Cymbalta and Wellbutrin. For myself, I became concerned about side affects and drug interactions after doing an interaction checker on medscape. I took myself off all prescription meds and for depression and pain I take Sam-E. for muscle pain my doc suggested a natural pharmaceutical turmeric, which I heard personal testimony as to it's benefits, it worked. Write me any time, you're good to help your family member.
