1035021 tn?1296820707 Hi, I'm a 36 yo male. 2 weeks ago I made the most stupid thing in my life by taking for the fisrt time a complete bottle of pure DEXTROMETORPHAN when I'm taking TRAMADOL daily, that day I ended in the hospital by a respiratory crisis, tachycardia and high blood pressure, after that I'm having like night panic attacks and high blood pressure moments that I control with an special med. I'm afraid everything is in my mind but I can't control it sometimes.
1035021 tn?1296820707 Two weeks ago I stupidly tried a bottle of DXM (the pure formula with no combinations) and I ended in the hospital with something close to a respiratory depression, tachycardia, high blood pressure and panic, I felt I was going to die. After that my general doctor send me for blood analysis and everything was ok but the blood pressure and she told me that was due to the remainings of the DXM.
Avatar f tn m only 18wks (had it severely with my first). My dr prescribed tramadol and said its the only safe thing I can take for my headaches. I just took my bp and its 130/102 so will see if it goes down.
Avatar n tn He takes Amlodipine for that, and we have been increasing the dose. His blood pressure was stable for months, so I don't know why it is going up now. Anyone have experience with that?
Avatar f tn org/posts/Digestive-Disorders---Gastroenterology/Rectal-Pain-and-Pressure/show/236142 and share my experience as it may help some of you. I had the same symptoms of rectal pressure and it was becoming unbearable. I tried the muscle relaxers and it helped some. But my case was different because I had a hunch what was causing the discomfort.
Avatar f tn Non steroidal anti inflammatory medications do have documented affects on the heart including raising blood pressure. They work so well for pain and immflamation that it is a real shame. Some will have more of an effect than others. To note, Mobic is also an Nsaid. But perhaps has less heart effect. Here's an article I found helpful https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise?

1035021 tn?1296820707 I was on tramadol for 6 years and then I quit, it leave me some serotonin low levels, after I quit tramadol I started to have high blood pressure issues with severe panic attacks and anxiety. Any advices???
1162610 tn?1262829016 I used the clonidine patch .01 and it really helped to calm me down. I did have to invest in a blood pressure machine as since I tend to have low blood pressure, I didn't want to have a problem. I actually had to quit the patch once but then my blood pressure took off again and so I put the patch back on. I think being on the pills would be better because you can monitor your blood pressure and just skip a pill or two if needed.
Avatar m tn First thought for me was blood pressure too....I have very low blood pressure, and when i was detoxing, even though it spiked, i was also taking clonodine..But i checked it every 15 minutes...I remember one day that i felt that way, and when i checked it, it was very low....that day i did not take the clonodine.. How much have you cut down??
1103276 tn?1330781268 All tests came back normall. Through out the rest of the week I still got the chills and slightly higher blood pressure (averaged 135/90) continued till about last Thursday. Also after that happened I lost my appetite and lost about 7 lbs. Its been two weeks now and I just still don't feel right. The main problem is that I get these feelings of agitation and just out of it feeling. Now a days it seems to be worse at night especially with the chills/muscle tension.
Avatar m tn I was put on Clonidine years ago, which is an old blood pressure med. There are thoughts it can help nerve pain and also withdrawal. It hasn't helped my nerve pain, I don't think, but I stay on it as my blood pressure can run high and pain makes it go higher. There are also prescription gels/creams. Some are compounded specifically for your type of pain. Others, like Voltaren gel, is like a regular prescription. There are lidoderm patches that can be applied (also prescription.
Avatar f tn My dad has been taking Tramadol for 3 years. Before he started taking it, he was addicted to hydrocodone. The family doctor we both see was very free with handing out the painkillers in the past. My doctor was prescribing me 180 pills of Tramadol a month. The nurse that prescribed them told us they were not much stronger than Tylenol, and she didn't warn us of their highly addictive nature. I don't take them anymore, but I know my father does, and I am so worried about his health.
Avatar n tn I slipped a disc last December and this strted in January, my Doctor doesnt have a clue what it is, he just keeps saying it will go away soon ?? Avatar f tn Im 39 weeks pregnant, all day today ive been cramping (like menstrual cramps)and its been mild. Its been consistent... Not like contractions. Wednesday i went to the DR and i had a super high amount of protein in my urine & normal blood pressure. My.doc is concerned about preeclampsia. So i did a 24HR pee thing .. Which came back super elevated for protein. He told me to come back Monday to check my blood pressure. But today has been really painful with these cramps that havent went away.

Avatar m tn Can you get some Clonidine? it a blood pressure med to help with narcotic w/d. I would go to a dr to see if they could give you something to help with w/d. You can get physically addicted to Ultram.
Avatar m tn I am not a doctor and you should consult a doctor before taking my or anyones advice of medication and WD processes because everyone is different. I am at day 7 of WD's and my method worked great with MINIMAL WD symptoms. I Still feeling a few but its very tolerable and can be dealt with easily. I have experienced very very horrible WD's in the past and came up with my own method of stopping.
Avatar n tn you would really need to be on a hefty dose like 600+ mg a day for a ling time for that to happen. the sweats, chills, and blood pressure spikes are normal in all opiate withdrawals. if you let a doctor know and its bad enough then he would probably give you a couple of safe drugs taken for a short period. clinidine for the blood pressure complications, sweats, chills, and insomnia. and a benzo for the anxiety and muscle cramps/spasms.
Avatar f tn Had not eaten that day or the day before, so likely had low blood sugar and hypotension, tramadol is known to reduce blood sugar as well. I felt fine all day until allowing myself to fall asleep late at night, I had just taken the final 100 mg dose about two hours prior, though I felt that my breathing was slow and I would have to manually take deep breaths here and there to compensate.
Avatar m tn i accidnetally took my partners tramadol instead of my beta blocker, It was 200mg tramadol. I started sweating about 2 hours later and i had palputations and was constantly spaced out and dizzy. I thought it was a problem with my heart so i called a ambulance and they done all the checks on my heart and i was fine. t is side effects to tramadol. Today i still feel weak and sickly and a little bit spaced out. How long does tramadol stay in your system for its been 18 hours now so frustrating.
Avatar f tn Clonidine is a drug primarily prescribed to regulate blood pressure so it can be helpful if you are suffering from heart palpitations or feel your bp is higher than usual. Some women are prone to low blood pressure, however, so clonidine would not be advisable in that case as it would only make you feel weaker. It may help somewhat with temperature regulation & other than the potential to unduly lower bp has minimal side effects & is not addictive.
Avatar f tn ve been prescribed 1mg lorazepam to help control sudden rises in blood pressure, and mine is starting to spike. Are the two medications safe to take together? I know the side effects of both drugs are drowsiness and sedation, and I plan on going to sleep for the evening soon anyway, but I'd just like to be safe rather than guess at this point. Thank you for your time.
