Avatar m tn i would say absolutely not to the benzos. i took a lot of them while using and i agree that they sort of mask the anxiety and it comes back twofold. also i relapsed more than once as a result of taking 'one' benzo. stay away from them. good luck.
Avatar f tn I took a couple 50 mg tramadol about 11am it's now 446 on and I was wondering if I could take a suboxone these are the first tramadol I've taken in months so I'm not addicted to them and they dont have a build up in my system TIA!
7682215 tn?1393326105 I've taken Norco and Tramadol before to help with ovarian cysts and other medical issues. But now I find that when my depression becomes unbearable, I tend to turn to opiates as a way to numb it all out vs cutting. I am going through an incredible amount of stress and depression. Now that I'm in my early adult years, I've started to notice the development of symptoms very typical of Bi-polar depression, which I have yet to be diagnosed and treated for, but it explains everything.
1041953 tn?1259072690 I am rather new to the site. I kept messing up where to post, and just recently found the community forum rather than the Med Expert forum. Anyway, I am so totally dependent upon benzos that it's scary. I've been taking Zoloft since 1995, and along the way, benzos were added, and my psychiatrist currently prescribes .5mg Klonopin at five per day.
Avatar f tn How do you stop taking tramadol isn't the easiest question in the world to answer. Tramadol act like an opiate and a SNRI from what I can understand. They are more difficult to get off of in my opinion than just plain old hydro or even ocs. That being said, you can do it. I've been through this a couple times and most recently about 3 weeks ago. This past time, I was only on them for a month- should have know better. The best thing to do is taper depending on how many you are on.
1191433 tn?1265367107 thx guys so much, and i do know you are all correct. Avatar f tn gaba is helpful for sleep and I took it when sleep was an issue...it also helps people on benzos tremendously as it is very similar to benzos in chemical make up....
Avatar m tn I need help getting off opioids by myself I have tramadol and benzos to help and Imodium just need help on what else I need to do before I start this process
Avatar m tn Agree with GA Guy and Sarah...I tried CT last week while having to work (I had no choice) and it was the worst I ever felt in my entire life...My good friend GA guy helped me tremendously...I had some benzos which helped and I'd take a mild vic 2x day to ease the shakes and other symptoms..I finally have a refill and am starting a taper plan...the pills are safely in the hands of my wife who has been a tremendous suppor to me... And I agree with Sarah....it is definitely evil...
Avatar f tn I would try anything and everything before I would take the tramadol.I have been clean for 9 months from a tramadol addiction. I don't want to see anyone go threw what I went threw.
Avatar f tn I just got out of Detox from Vicodin and Benzos and Soma.it was the worst 3 weeks of my life!!! I wanted to die...........Im now taking Ultram for an infected root canal............Im so scared of becoming addicted, Im only taking 2- a day for 2-3 days.................Opiate and Benzo detox is way worse than coming off alcohol!! trust me.
Avatar f tn Still taking tramadol, 50-150/day, off benzos with vistaril. Afraid to stop taking tramadol. Feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin in the AM and have it at times throughout the day.
Avatar m tn I fell in the same trap after beating a percocet/vicodin addiction and thought tramadol was safe. I have had way more trouble kicking the tramadol than I ever did vicodin or percocet. I curse the day I got my first tramadol prescription and if I had known then what I know now I would have never swallowed one. Please read as much as you can and make an informed decision. My opinion is it is the worst medication I have ever taken....
Avatar m tn I wanted to get off Tramadol so I quit taking it 4 days ago and am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and having a hard time forcing fluids. Although I'm a nurse, I want someone to take care of me now! I was taking two 50mg Tramadol three times a day for a year and a half. I am seeing my PCP this Tuesday and was wondering what I can ask her about helping me these horrible unrelenting anxiety attacks and what is there that I can take for this daily chr pain that is not addictive.
541465 tn?1219427886 I spent 7 days in the icu mixing methadone and xanax. DONT DO IT! Please....
Avatar f tn ) And you are right about being careful w/the xanax - way to easy right now to develop a cross addiction. And benzos are awful all on their own to get off of. Good luck to you!
410406 tn?1209480659 Be careful with the xanax, I became addicted to that on top of opiates and it is really dangerous to come off of. If you are only taking one a night though, and can keep it at that good for you, because it will help you sleep and also help the RLS. Congratulations!
Avatar f tn be careful if your mixing Sub with Benzos or Tramadol.....You are not supp to do Tramadol with Suboxone and as far as i know mixing Benzos with it will kill you. I have been sick off of Suboxone once 2 years ago b/c i mixed things i shouldnt have and i thought i was gonna die... Just be careful...you sound smart though. So i dont mean to nag...
Avatar f tn It is recommended that patients physically dependent on pain killers take their medication regularly to prevent onset of withdrawal symptoms and this is particularly relevant to tramadol because of its SSRI and SNRI properties, and, when the time comes to discontinue their tramadol, to do so gradually over a period of time that will vary according to the individual patient and dose and length of time on the drug.
Avatar f tn I have been taking tramadol and its been amazing. I didnt think it helped at first, but now that i've been on it for 3-4 weeks its really really helping manage my pain. plus, i'm not tired on it and i feel great. i am taking 400mg a day which i realize is probably at the higher end, and I would like to be able to discontinue these meds in the future (hopefully I will be feeling better soon) my question is whether tramadol withdrawal is similar to an anti-depressant in nature?
Avatar f tn Im currently out of tramadol and xanax and have no choice but to go cold turkey, my doctor is a pusher and wouldnt help me anyway. I just took my last dose of xanax last night(2 mgs) and took 200 mgs of tramadol about four hours ago. Im feeling withdrawals already and i know its reallllly idiotic to go cold turkey off xanax so my husband(who doesnt use at all) is trying to track some xanax down for me so i dont have a seizure or die.
Avatar m tn First off, you can't sure for malpractice in this situation. If we all sued for wrong or misleading information from a doctor, then there would be no more doctors. Plus, I honestly believe some doctors THINK that a)Tramadol isn't an opiate, and b) that Tramadol is not addictive. The reason they believe this is because that's what they're told. Do you think every doctor does an extensive class on every new medication that comes out?
Avatar f tn i would start with your doctor, he can help you in many ways and if he wont find one that will. you have to becareful with meds, somethings like tramadol, and benzos can cause very bad withdrawls like seizures, and something the withdrawls could be deadly, so please call your doctor.
Avatar m tn It has been 6 months today for me, since going cold turkey off of Norco, Tramadol and Benzos. It is strange that something drew me here now to post and count the days! It has been exactly 6 months. Take care of yourselves. We only get one life.
3655415 tn?1352837277 there is definitely risk of seizures from too high a dose of tramadol and also when quitting too quickly. not the same as oxys.
600086 tn?1238418989 when I was coming off of opiates my doctor put me on Zoloft and Xanax, and now im having a Xanax problem. It DOES help so much with the anxiety but dont let it get to the point where your body needs it to function. Good luck.
Avatar f tn For withdrawal from 32 days off tramadol and after today will be my 10th day off methadone. The pain from withdrawal did't start untill the third day Methadone time table different from all other opiates. It felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks on day 8.Very severe not one second of releif from the pain the legs the whole bit a bath or hot shower helps but it comes back soon after.Took my first dose clonidine hcl 0.
Avatar f tn Unlike benzos and antidepressants this drug is a blood pressure medication. All it really helps with is that creepy crawly tickly sensation you can get. I get it bad at bed time when I'm still . the perk of it is it doesn't give me any sort of pleasure like benzos. But don't get me wrong it isn't a miracle drug. It's still very tough.
