Tramadol is not in the same class as anti inflammatories. I am too allergic to them but can take tramadol. I would try it and make sure someone is with you so if you do have a bad reaction they can take you to the ER.
Tramadol is a pain medication and it may help your pain. It is not a strong one but it will help better than nothing at all and if you go ahead and try it and it doesn't work you can tell the doctor this and get something different.

I have read horrid stories on this website regarding Tramadol addiction, and the last thing I want to is get hooked on these. I am curious, do you think I could use these short-term like for the next 30 days or so without getting hooked on them.
I thought Tramadol was a “Non-Opiate medication, but an “Opiate-Like” medication. ( I don’t want to be taking opiates any more)
Do you know if that is true?

Quitting tramadol cold turkey is ill-advised. Your doctor should've told you and prepared you for a taper. Tramadol lowers the seizure threshold. Cold turkey can be dangerous with ultam/tamadol. Talk to your doctor. the half life is a day or two so your w/d's will hit hard around day 5-7. Please call your doc tomorrow and talk to him about this.
It's normal! Are you on any other meds? Have any health problems? If you have any health problems, you need to see a doc about this. Don't do it alone if it could get complicated by health issues. Drink extra fluid like gatorade and apple juice. Take lots of hot baths. You're likely to have trouble sleeping, so if that happens, just don't be alarmed and don't take any benadryl or tylenol PM. They will only make it worse.

I have been taking tramadol off and on for yrs. I have been trying to get off it for the last 3 yrs and cant take the withdrawall for more than a week or so. Rehab is not an option for me, I have children and live in a small town. Nobody knows I have this problem, other than my husband. I have back pain and started taking tramadol because it suposedly wasnt addictive!!! How do I get off this medicine and still function? Is there a way to get help without rehab?
I suggest reading up on some of the OTC remedies such as Immodium tablets and Benadryl, as those are cheap, easy to get, and can help quite a bit. I guess double-plus doses of Immodium helps ease the withdrawals you get in your body (especially your gut but apparently not limited to that) and the ingredient in Benadryl (which is also found in products to help you sleep) will help you at night.
They are red bumps and when I scratch them they have a bit of fluid like and turns into a very small red scab. I broke out under my breast area and top of my back. I thought it might be a heat rash as I had just worked out and had on my sports bra. Then I noticed today on my stomach I have a fe more and they are itchy at first then turn to small scabs and then stop itching. I feel fine so I dont think its related to Tramadol but didnt start until four days after I started taking it.
After my second replacement, because the first one failed, the VA doc. puy me on tramadol, 2x50mg/day at bedtime. I now have a new doctor that is changing my meds. When I changed the doc. told to taper off the tramadol, i only had 4 pills left so I only took 1/day and ran completely out just last tuesday 6/611. I haven't slept since, well maybe a half an hour or so. The withdrawl symtoms are worse then I ever had imagined!!!
He is recovering with medicinal treatment. He has become very active as of late and is exibiting some anxiety that may be related to the prednisone that he is on.
I would like to know if I can give him some Benadryl to quiet him a bit.
He is currently taking 20 mg prednisone 2x daily, 100 mg tramadol 2x daily. Can he have Benadryl without signifigant side affects ?

I have been through withdrawel before, but only for a couple of days and it was hell. I hate this drug. I am a wife and mother of three and I know they have suffered from it. I plan to have a goood weekend with my family and monday is the beginning. My husband says he will be there for me and take care of me. I am so afraid. I would love any advice that I could get. I am so greatful to everyone else here who have been so open and honest. That has helped me so much.
Your best bet would be to ask your Vet or a Pharmacist.
To combat the withdrawals, I am taking 2organic vitamins,with additional potassium and l tyrosine. I take 4advil and 2 Benadryl. I take hot baths to help with the pain. I was on 150 ml a day of tramadol but off for 5days. Help, any suggestions to make it better. Going to doc today. Should I let her put me on suboxune today or continue to fight on my own. I cannot take cymbalta.
maybe i shouldnt say this but i have taken Benadryl and Sleep together, as well as Benadryl and Alteril. in my aftercare program / treatment facility, they prescribe Trazadone all the time and i don't think that is considered a narcotic. Personally I really don't like that drug, but i think it's ok to take in recovery. hang in there!
