Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol and aspirin

Avatar f tn I forgot to mention - since you do have the aspirin allergy and the tramadol is a new medication for you, DEFINITELY double check with thepharmacist before taking it just to be on the safe side. It's NEVER a good idea to go strictly by information you may obtain on the internet, espeically when it comes to possible medication reactions and your health. Best of luck!
Business man2 The human body develops tolerance to the analgesic effects of Tramadol. That means, on regular use of Tramadol, your body gets used to it and you will need more of the drug to induce the same level of pain relief. The most dangerous side effects of Tramadol are respiratory depression , since it can shut down your breathing, and its ability to cause seizures. If the patient is taking certain medications for depression like Zoloft, it might cause a serious interaction called Serotonin Syndrome.
Avatar f tn if she stops within the next couple of days or weeks will or can it show up when she goes into labor in her or her newborn childs system???//and also is it safe???i know it has aspirin in it but is it considered to be a narcotic of some type.????..i need all my questions answered as soon as possible please thanks.
Avatar m tn Actually, tramadol (brand name is ultracet) and rimadyl are safe for dogs. I've had dogs on rimadyl for many years due to arthritis and they never had a problem with it. Tramadol was reserved for post-op pain treatment and only for a few days. Can you give us more information on exactly what kind of pain your chow chow has and any other meds that have been tried?
Avatar f tn I have some tramadol can cats take that? Is there any over the counter pain meds? Aspirin?
Avatar n tn I tried taking some aspirin yesterday for my migraine and knee but a few hours later I felt like electricity was running through my body and shaky...I am thinking the aspirin didnt vibe with some of the vitamins I am taking. What do yall recommend?
Avatar m tn Sleep has been pretty good considering the w/d hell. I usually take half an ambien and fall right to sleep. My problem is I wake 5 or 6 hours later with my heart about to jump out of my chest and can't go back to sleep. Not a fast heart beat but just nervousness and dreading that I have to get up and go to work 2 hours later. I've tried aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofen, and just about everything else for this headache but it usually only helps for an hour or two.
Avatar m tn For the last 10 yeras I have been taking Treo (aspirin combined with caffeine - 500 mg aspirin - 50 mg caffeine) - over the years I have taken a little more and a little more.. the result being that until the day before yesterday I was taking 4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon and 4 before sleepy time. Luckily I haven't had any ulcers or physical reactions but this abuse can't continue - thank god for the after-Tramadol hindsight clarity...
Avatar f tn Have taken 800 mg Ibuprofen for the pain, try not to take it often as I know it elevates BP and harmful to body. I also take aspirin, tylenol, and wear a Flector pain patch when it gets unbearable. I alternate with the pain meds dont take them the same days. The doctor put me on Tramadol for pain and made an appt. with my regular MD April 5th. I am scared because heart disease runs in my family, hypertension and stroke, some diabetes.
772216 tn?1259273237 I think the advice, frequently advertised by aspirin manufacturers, to take aspirin to gain some protection against heart attack and blood clot problems. Given you are on medications, it would be a good idea to discuss aspirin with your doctor before starting any daily regiment. Happily, beta blockers lower both HR and BP, so it seems they are tailor made for your situation. Still, an effort to find the cause is the best approach.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
2121656 tn?1395674749 She seems to be walking ok, but once she lays down for a long period of time, she yelps when she tries to get up. She weighs 35lbs. and wondering what I can give her for pain. My lab takes tramadol for pain related to arthritis. Was wondering if anyone knows if one tramadol or a aspirin would be ok to give to her?
Avatar n tn I am allergic to Aspirin, Morphine, Codeine, Hydrocodone, Tramadol and Ibuprofen. After my last back surgery they put me on Gabapentin several times a day. Now I just take it at night to help take the edge off so I can sleep. Now I have to have a shoulder replacement in 2 weeks and they want me to see a pain management specialist because they don't know what to give me when I come home. I told them to just up the Gabapentin to several times a day. But they don't want to do that.
Avatar f tn Hi, I take Tramadol for my chronic back pain. Initially my pain Dr. did not want to prescribe Tramadol for me since I take Effexor for depression. But after taking so many pain meds, and needing to try a new one, he agreed to let me try Tramadol slowly. The Tramadol has worked well for me, and luckily I didn't have any problems with the combination of drugs. Actually the Tramadol has really helped my mood ( I think because of the snri). So I have started to taper off the Effexor.
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar f tn A veterinarian can prescribe one of several medications to help with arthritis such as the before mentioned Rimadyl, Deramaxx, or even Tramadol. A Glucosamine suppliment is always helpful and slows the progression of the arthritis. Also...Labradors can take Rimadyl, but like any dog they should have their bloodwork done before hand to make sure their organs are functioning properly. Also it should always be taken with food.
Avatar n tn So what does everyone do to relieve pain, once they are off Tramadol? Tylenol does not work, and I cannot take any aspirin products (Advil, Motrin, and others) because of Stage II Chronic Kidney Disease. Thanks in advance for your advice.
Avatar n tn Lou, watch out, tramadol is very addictive. It's as bad as vicodin or oxy and it's tough breaking free of it.
768044 tn?1294223436 Tramadol didn't work completely for me. It took us about 4 months to come up with Zomig and to take 1-2 at onset (early) and then another in 4 hours if this doesn't help. Because I have rebound headaches I have to be careful. But I have found catching it early I don't need as much medication.
Avatar f tn Thanks, to all of you. I agree about Tramadol and I agree about talking to the doc. I just don't get to see him until 9/11.
329994 tn?1301663248 I am wondering which of the 3 medications (Talwin, Butran Patch, or Tramadol) would be best with the other medications that I take. I also take aspirin and Zyrtec OTC. Thank you for any help.
Avatar f tn I am on my second day of no Tramadol - actually, I am into just 6 hours of the second day and if I could only get this train that just keeps circling the inside of my skull to quiet down, I would feel so much better. Every time I try to stand too quickly, I about hit the floor - I know the reason why, I am a nurse, but I cannot slow myself down), I have never have had to. I am ashamed to say that I have been taking Tramadol for probably 3 years now and in massive doses. Massive, you ask.
518798 tn?1295212279 Anywhoo, he gave me a script for mobic and tramadol. I have never been prescribed either, but after reading this forum, I opted NOT to get the tramadol filled. I did get the mobic filled because I only take it once daily so I figured it would be okay. Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Opiates like codeine (hydrocodone and oxycodone) are usually compounded with another medicine, like the acetaminophen you mentioned, but also with aspirin. Among the medicines that codeine is mixed with aspirin are Lortab and Percodan, and they are short-acting. Opiates like morphine (hydromorphone) that are not compounded include the drug Dilaudid. Some other analgesics without Tylenol include Darvon and Ultram or Tramadol.
