Recently got Ultra sound scan and found 7 mm stone in left kidney and 3mm stone in right kidney. I am adviced by urologist to have Plain KUB CT scan and the reuslt is: 8.0 X 4.32 mm calculi in left kidney, extra renal pelvis on left side and phleboliths in right pelvic.

Avatar n tn ”)(1) Also, it is important to note that the characteristic and size of renal and ureteral stones are important in choosing lithotripsy as the management of choice. “… consider ESWL in most patients with renal calculi as first-line treatment, except in patients with renal calculi bigger than 30 mm in diameter.

She is now 3 years old and she has had 6-7 UTI and the last one was on 12/1/10 and she was in the hospital for 5 days she was recently diagnosed with hydronephrosis and her last renal ultrasound stated " there are focal echogenic structures bilaterally which are probably nonobstructive renal calculi" can someone explain to me what this means.
Avatar f tn You can take drinks and that help dissolve renal calculi. Pharmaceutical and also natural such as Apple cider vinegar one teaspoon per day max. Tamsulosin can also help pass stones.
656452 tn?1332783935 There is a mild degree of left hydronephrosis extending to the most proximal aspect of the left ureter, where a 4 mm obstructing calculus is identified. There are 3 tiny punctate right renal calculi.
Avatar n tn Possible causes of positive test include renal dysfunction, muscle breakdown, GU infections, inflammations, trauma, erosions, ulcers, calculi etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a urologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hi, How is your husband? What are the symptoms present? One of the more common renal cysts is a simple renal or kidney cysts, which are abnormal, fluid-filled sacs that form in the kidneys. These are more common as people age and may be an incidental finding during imaging studies. The cause of simple kidney cysts is not fully understood but obstruction, deficiency of blood supply to the kidneys and even presence of diverticula may be responsible.
Avatar f tn I recently had a CT scan of the Abdomen and pelvis. I cannot get an appointment for the results for two weeks but in the meantime I have asked for a copy of my results of the CT. I just want to know what "Pelvic Pleboliths, Cholelithiasis and benign sclerosis of the left femoral head" means. The report also reads " benign appearing cystic change within the right ovary - No free fluid".
Avatar n tn Carbonated drinks have an adverse effect on healing and the additives in them can predispose to the formation of renal calculi, especially in a kidney that is recovering from an infective insult/ If the infection was persistent, your son would have had frequency of urination even at night. Do ensure that he has adequate fluid intake 1500 - 2000 ml per day that includes milk, citrus juices, and water. You can always substitute carbonated drinks with lemonade.
Avatar n tn i have been diagonised left renal calculi+ and fatty liver.i also have gallbladder sludge.but i feel pain inthe upper part of the stomach(rightside)and also back pain inthe right lower side.
Avatar n tn The report said the liver pancreas gallbladder spleen and kidneys were all unremarkable. The report said the lesion appears to be a small hemangioma but too small to characterized. The report also noted there may be bilateral renal calculi but since the ct was done with contrast it can't be definitive. It also stated there were no significant abnormalities.
Avatar n tn If you are having bladder discomfort but no frequency of urination, it still does not rule out a UTI. Do have a urinalysis done as individuals with renal calculi are more prone to developing UTIs and vice versa. Also add citrus fruits and juices to diet to help combat infection. Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Avatar f tn Possible causes that may need to be considered include GI/ GU infections/ inflammations, growths/ masses such as renal calculi, neuro-muscular causes, vascular causes etc. Increased leucocytes in urine and fecal overloading could be responsible for the symptoms as well. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by an internist initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
