I take 150 mg of topiramate for cronic cluster headaches every night. Sometimes this causes me to have wake up with pain/tingling in my feet as a side effect. I find relief from this pain by using a "hidow" electronic massager that uses electricity on the bottoms of my feet. I'm not sure if that is relevant but that's what I had just started using when the pain in my feet was so intense.
Hi, I've been on topiramate since August for migraine prevention. I have had a chronic cough since about the time I went on it and have had cold symptoms ever since. I am now on asthma inhalers. I take 100 mg twice daily. I came here to see if anyone else is having those issues. I have found since August, my mouth has been very dry. My appetite is decreased.
i have to always move my head from side to side, to stretch the muscles and stop them from tightening so much because my shoulder muscles get so tight. the pain goes all the way down to my lower back. I have to keep constant watch on my medication too, and cant miss taking any and try to do at least an hour of yoga a day.
It will take awhile. I have chronic migraine so I have been on topiramate several times but every time I got on I remembered how awful the side effects were and why I decided to go off in the first place, (besides it did absolutely nothing to help my migraines) and I lost A LOT of hair too. it would seriously come out in clumps in the shower, we would have to vacuum every day because there would be so much hair on the carpet.
Has anyone taken this? What does it make u feel like and does it actually work for migraine?
How does Rolaids or tums help with the tingling sensations caused by taking topiramate?

I went to my OBGYN last week and she gave me my first Birth Control pills for me to try. She gave me Junel 1/20, which are three weeks of small yellow pills and one week off so I can get my period. I was reading in all the little information attached with the pills that my medication for my seizures (Trokendi XR) may cause the Birth Control to break down and lose its ability to take effect. I have tried calling my doctor's office all week with no answer.
Hi and so very sorry you are having all this trouble. I have a migraine variant that in my 20's just gave me vomiting and no headache. It only came on at night. They gave me Klonopin and I haven' t had that since. But I don't recommend Klonopin for the vertigo. So, then I started getting the migraine headaches and aura in my 30's and took Imitrex and that worked some for the migraine headaches. Only this last year and a half I started getting double vision then severe vertigo.
I was injured in a rocket explosion in Baghdad 4 months ago. I was knocked out for a few seconds and suffered a head concussion. Since coming back home, I started to have migraine like headaches along with other post mTBI symptoms (dizziness, cognative problems, etc).
Anyway, my neurologist is treating me currently with 25mg Nortriptyline and 25mg Topamax at night. They have helped (more so the Topamax). The first week and a half I noticed absolutely no side effects of the Topamax.
t appear to have made a difference for my wife. She used it for almost 10 years at 100mg max for 50% of that time. She was tirated off of it in December 2014 and she had no change in symptoms. She has had better success with a treatment called EEG Neurofeedback. If you need to use a drug ask your Doctor if you can try a drug called Maxalt or similar drug (it is relatively costly though). EEG Neurofeedback is non invasive and one can sometimes see changes within a few visits.
I was just prescribed the drug for frequent migrains and was wondering why and how it causes weight loss? Does it decrease your ap?
I go there get shot and go home it will ease off but end up going back within a week for another shot and I think they think that I am just playing or something. Anyway I have had migraines before but only maybe once or twice a year. But now it is like 1-3 times a week and it seems like it really doesn't go away it eases up to a dull ache but it comes back with a major pain and it gets to the point where It just see black dots, and I am dizzy alot,and throw up.

He has recently given me numerous trial medication to see if my current state and headaches would improve including apo-acetazolamide (250 mg) and ratio-topiramate (25mg). With acetazolamide not working, and topiramate worsening my state. After being on topiramate for 3 days, I had a general feeling of confusion, disorientation, trouble with my memory, and trouble concentrating.

Just last year I was driving at 3:20am in the morning and I had tunnel vision because I was having an attack, it started off with the sharp pains in my head, tremors, and so on. That was the first time I have ever had the tunnel vision. I do believe my attacks are shifting into another realm of its own.
NO MY UE FOR THESE TOPIRMATE WOULD BR FOR NERVE PAIN AND WEIGHT LOSS WHICH I AM REPLACING WITH GABOPENTIN 300MG I DONT HAVE ANY SEIZURE ISSUES OR ANY PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES I HAVE BEEN NOW ON GABOPENTIN FOR ALMOST 14MTHS AND BAVE PUT ON ALMOST 25KG I WILL GIVE IT A TRY AND SEE WHAT IT DOES TOO ME HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU BEFOR YOU REALISED THE CHANGE IN YOUR MOOD AND BEHAVIOUR PATTERN
She is just really stressed because she cant get any answers. She has been on Topamax (Topiramate) for seizures for almost 2 years with no side effects.
