Topamax with no prescription

Common Questions and Answers about Topamax with no prescription

topamax

Avatar f tn I really thought it was some zero (or close) harm trial and a homeopathic treatment. I had no idea it was a prescription a powerfull drug. It took me about 4 months to get the medication as it was shipped from Pakistan to the USA. The company posted 2 "home" addresses....one in Minnesota the other in Rome. It is advertised by Google on many interney sites as a cure for spasmodic torticollis and/or spasmodic dysphonia. It had no effect on me......
Avatar f tn The problem with prescription drugs is when they are released they basically have a contract.to charge outrageous prices for an agreed upon amount of time. Has he tried amitryptiline? I may have spelled it wrong. Its been around for quite some time so it is quite inexpensive. I suffer from chronic migraines and that is what i take between 10 to 50mg a night it worked amazingly. Unfortunately i cant take them.right now due to being pregnant:) and its killing me.
Avatar n tn how long did it take before anyone out there to quit losing their hair when they finally quit taking topamax? One last and final question, how long did it take for anyone to start regrowing their hair again?Someone please answer me!
Avatar f tn I know that weight loss is associated with both of those, especially the Topamax. I was ok with that, I've been wanting to lose about 30 lbs. anyway. But I'm on low doses of both, so I didn't expect to see much weight loss, if any, and especially not so quickly. My appointment at the psychiatrist was on October 7 and when they had me get on the scale there, it read 131 lbs.
614508 tn?1265281722 Has anyone had any interactions/reactions with the drug Topamax when prescribed for BPII & OCD. My understanding from the drug handout is that it is normally prescribed for migraines, seizures and weight loss. My doc has just increased my dosage to 100mg 3x per day. I have experienced some deterioration in my eyesight however I'm not sure if that's attributed to age (hadn't had my eyes examined in 2 years) or the Topamax which I've been on a lower doze for 6 weeks.
237152 tn?1206651036 The pain clinic prescribed Topamax to help with my lower back pain, but I can't handle the side effects. I only took half the dose and I feel like I'm in a fog. I feel hungover and have NO energy. All I want to do is sleep, but I have a 3 year old tyrant to take care of, so Topamax won't work for me. Just had to throw that out there.
Avatar f tn About 1.5 yrs now I have been on Topamax. Also around that time, my thyroid started acting up. I started losing my hair, cold hands and feet, feeling very tired, bad memory etc.. Now my symptoms have escalated. My memory is to the point where I can’t even remember simple words. I am depressed all the time and can’t get out of bed during the day. Then I can’t sleep at night. I'm having a hard time separating the side affects from the Topamax and the thyroid, which got me thinking.
Avatar n tn Topamax is used for a lot of things it isn't necessarily labeled for. It's also used for treatment of nerve-related pain. Docs love to give it to patients with spine pain because it's not a narcotic. I know topamax has helped people with pain, but I wasn't one of them. I got every side effect on the fine-print enclosure, including a wooden tongue and numb, nearly paralyzed extremeties. Hadn't even titrated up to a "therapeutic" dose yet.
Avatar f tn It seems to me that every neuro in the us really goes to topamax first for migraines, this concerns me. I went through 2 neuros who just kept upping and upping my topamax dosage w/o ever even talking about another preventative drug when the topamax didn't work. Finally, I got in with a headache specialist at a large neurology center and they put me on a 12 day run of frova, gave me a prescription for muscle relaxers and fiorcet, and an imitrex shot on the spot.
Avatar m tn Has anyone experienced massive hair loss while on steroids? Mine has been falling out since last spring fairly steadily. I started on 40mg of prednisone a day in the beginning of January. Then was put on Topamax about five weeks ago. At that point, my hair started falling out three times more than before. I'm talking my hands are covered every time I wash it, plus there is hair all over the bathroom floor, counter top, etc., by the time I'm done in there.
Avatar f tn Topamax and Amitriptaline are pretty powerful drugs and, typically, should not be mixed with a lot of other things... Just because something is "all natural" doesn't mean it won't have side effects or interact with prescription medications. Many "natural" substances are just as potent as pharmaceuticals. You should always consult a doctor before mixing drugs such as Topamax or anti-depressants with such things as you've ordered for your girlfriend.
Avatar f tn I have a long history of migraine. I'm a 55 yo f. I also take a number of medications, including Topamax for migraine, blood pressure meds, Celebrex, asthma medication and diabetes medication. However I have had recurring visual disturbances that only happen at night. I get up in the middle of the night - to go to the bathroom - and the bathroom is covered in geometric patterns, like a checkered pattern or little lacework pattern. It's everywhere, the walls, tub, sink, floor.
Avatar n tn I also cut all alcohol out with the exception of the occasional glass of wine with we are out to dinner with friends…. (Mostly so I don’t look like a party pooper) and anything carbonated taste awful. I still had 13 migraines last month, so the neurologist is still trying to get me on the correct dose. But I also have two lesions on my brain from my migraines so what’s one more…..
Avatar f tn Yes, it could be sinus related, but I doubt it. My Doctor has tried a lot of meds, but with no success. I have had MRI's and they are all normal. While experience these pains my right shoulder has tingling, numbness feel, and 2 days I go I was told that my prescription for my reading glasses is going up, because of my right eye. I have always had 20/20 vision untill last year.
768044 tn?1294223436 I am currently taking topamax. Before topamax I tried valproic acid and before that I tried amitriptyline. On the topamax my migraines are currently happening still 15+ a month. Hence wanting to try something else too... When I asked my neurologist about the botox, he said that I couldn't mix the topamax and botox treatments. I hadn't heard this before. He said that in the clinical trials, the people who were on a comination of treatments showed worse results.
975514 tn?1324997938 First, you must be titrated slowly (no more than 25mg per week increases) because of side effects like nervousness and insomnia, hand and foot tingling and loss of appetite. These side effects do go away after about 6 weeks. By increasing slowly your body has a chance to adjust. Many inexperienced doctors make the mistake of increasing people WAY too fast. (I think they believe Topamax is tolerated just like Gabapentin or Lyrica.
Avatar f tn I feel like theres no hope. Does Topamax work for this? I see a neurologist on Thursday. Hope I get some insight!
2104296 tn?1334841551 if you only get them occasionally then you dont need to mess around with preventive medications if you dont have to. Especially topamax. I have chronic migraines and i've had to go on the topamax, but i HATE it. the side effects suck. but nothing else works. also, like the person before me said pain meds can cause rebound headaches, not to mention you can quickly build a tolerance.
1664023 tn?1302961166 I hope there is a light at the end of the topomax tunnel cause like I said narcotics are a no and will not go forward with decompression until I quit smoking and lose some weight. I do have a good feeling even with all the negative this will be a good experience and am extremely hopeful that this will be a good thing. If this is still a followed group I will share my topomax journey wether good or bad...
Avatar f tn Hello! I have been a LONG time migraine and chronic tension headache sufferer. I have never had any form of medical treatment since each doctor I went to seemed to blow me off. This caused me to "self" medicate using a combo of over the counter meds like Excedrine and Tylenols. I ended up suffering from "Medication Overuse Headache". I am currently doing a sort of "detox" from all pain meds and headache inducing foods.
1276940 tn?1564515084 I am a soon to be 42 y/o (on 4/17) who is currently undergoing testing for Sjogren's Syndrome. I am sero negative so I will be undergoing a lip biopsy soon. I do have a positive RF tho. My Vit D level way 14 at least testing (Feb 2016) I am on 50,000 IU once a week & 1,000 IU a day. I have this brown skin in between my breasts. In my cleavage. It doesn't itch, or burn or anything really. I have noticed it there for the last 6 months or so and to me, it seems to be getting darker.
