topamax weight loss 25 mg

I am looking for some help! I was given Topamax 25 mg 1xday @ bedtime for weight loss.....could anyone let me kno about side effects or personal experiences?!?! I appreciate any help!

Wellbutrin 75 mg once per day, Topamax 25 mg twice per day (and Ativan 0.5 mg twice per day as needed, but that doesn't have anything to do with weight loss :p). I got on my scale at home yesterday, October 12, just because I was curious, and it said I was already at 126. How much more weight do you think I can expect to lose, and how quickly do you think it will happen? Because I certainly didn't expect what happened so far.

I have just recently been prescribed Topamax 25mg to aid in weight loss. I take 25mg at bedtime for 7 days then 50mg. How long does it take before i should start seeing a difference in my weight. I have noticed that I do not have headaches since taking this medicine.

Well have gone to the doc and he has given me a 50 mg 2x daily of Topamax to take with the Paxil CR. I am going to take just the Topamax for a month or so hoping to drop some of the weight gained then start back on the Paxil CR. I will continue to update as I know there are others out there who are in the same boat! p.s. its quiet expensive if you dont have insurance coverage and from other posts the generic versions arent the same.

html There are many success stories of people losing weight on topamax. If you read the side effects, weight loss is one of them. It helps suppress the desire to eat even smoking which I have quit too. I have had all blood tests ran on me. I've been going to my doctor for 10 years. I am also hypothyroid and take 200mcg of synthroid, will there be issues taking these two meds together? I read that one of the side effects of topamax is weight loss. This I wouldnt mind as Ive put on weight due to my hypothyroid. But, the biggest thing would not have these headaches. I have almost come to the point where I just have to accept them as part of my life. I really would like this med to work. Info/suggestions/ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated..

I also had this kind of crazy weight loss on Topamax. For me, it turned out to be the combination of the dosage of Topamax and other medications that made the weight loss so severe. I noticed that once I stopped taking Wellbutrin and as my headaches improved I lowered my dose of Topamax, the weight loss eased off and it took about 6 months to get back to my usual weight. Now I am back watching what I eat, instead of eating everything in site and losing weight!

I was recently put on topamax not 4 weight loss but i was told a side effect is weight loss(personally i am against taking diet pills for myself) i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or xperience with this med?

Hi, Loss of appetite is one of the many side effects of Topamax. So is weight loss. You may try giving the child some digestive enzymes and multivitamin preparations that help in improving the appetite. I just started taking Topamax 50 mg for migraine control yesterday. My Dr. said the side effects were not bad, but if I noticed any I could take it before bed. Well I took it after I picked it up from the pharmacy at about 3 pm and in the evening I started feeling really sick to my stomach, dizzy, and severe hot flashes. I took a nap because I also was tired. Well I woke up from my nap and had to go to the store and had to come home immediately I felt as though I was going to pass out!!!

ve taken Depakote before, but stopped because of weight gain and hair loss. I am 22 years old. Just about 2 days ago I started noticing some Topamax side effects... Like "i can't find the right words to say" or "finish my sentences" Have you ever experienced this? and do these side effects go away?

im female, 16, and i started on topamax 50 mg to 75 mg a few months back for migraines, along with amitriptyline 50 mg to help me sleep but had no affect on me other than giving slight constipation, but i stopped the amitriptyline maybe 3 weeks after, im unsure. two weeks after i had started the topamax i went on cymbalta 30 mg the first week then 60 mg the second, but i had to stop it cause quite honestly all that medication does is mess your body up.

I did experience weight loss but not loss so far, but I do take daily vitamin and extra supplements plus making sure I drink Ensure and a V-8 everyday to keep myself health. I didn’t need to lose any weight. I also cut all alcohol out with the exception of the occasional glass of wine with we are out to dinner with friends…. (Mostly so I don’t look like a party pooper) and anything carbonated taste awful.

Hi...this is not really all that new, and it is the generic of TOPAMAX...this can take 2 weeks to adjust to....so u may feel extremely tired and off balance with this.... I did lose weight, and not sure how it works, but I gained it all back and I am still on the med....so it is not a weight loss miracle. I have noticed a change in taste as well as smells...so I know that did affect what I eat.... Good luck and again be advised most do need an adjustment period to this med.

Topamax inhibits sweating but I was on a 200 mg dose for migraines-I started at 25 mg but the more my dose increased the less I noticed the horrible sweats from the Wellbutrin. It is a stimulant so it will have that effect.

Just wondering if you lost alot of weight being on both Topamax and Wellbutrin?
