topamax

Avatar_f_tn I guess what I'm trying to say is there are many more options to try if <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax doesn't work for or: #dae8f4'>you, or or: #dae8f4'>you have complications from it. But I know a lot of people who <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax works for, and they never even have to try anything else.
Avatar_f_tn Hi, I have been on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for menstrual migraine since 2009. I was put on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax because my migraines had me bedridden twice a month and I couldn't lead a normal life. I started low on 25mg and ended up on 2 x 50mg daily. The early side effects do go away. I had tingling in my hands and feet and I did still get some nasty headaches (no longer migraines) in the initial stages. The cognitive side effects also went away after a couple of months.
Avatar_f_tn I have been on 100mg of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for almost a month (the 22nd of this month) for cluster headaches and have had a variety of side effects. I take 50mg in the or: #dae8f4'>morning and 50mg at night. I thought I was going to lose my mind honestly. But I was told that the side effects would taper or: #dae8f4'>off more than likely. Which the vast majority have. I no longer feel dumber than a rock (I wasn't even able to compose an email without reading it very slowly 4-5 times before sending it). And I feel pretty normal.

424862_tn?1203807056 Topomax have helped many of my co-workers and a family member to aliviate or or: #dae8f4'>stop migraines. Thats why i tried it my self. but it didnt work for me. Dealing with migraines has left me exposed to try anything. But be aware of the side effects and look out for them some of the meds i have tried actually (2) had strong side effects that I called my doctor the next or: #dae8f4'>morning to give my something else. good luck i hope it works!!
214901_tn?1227571155 Okay, so has anyone that has been Rx'd <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for headaches, actually gotten crushing headaches about 1-2 hours after taking it? I am trying hard to wait it out and work through my dosage increases but this is just insane! Thanks!
Avatar_f_tn well I have not experienced that since starting the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax, but have had the issue as a result of chiari b4 surgery and have had it occasionally since... I wish I could tell u more, I am just too new to the med myself and the fact we all will respond differently...
Avatar_n_tn Can or: #dae8f4'>you take clenbuterol and <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax together? any side effects I or: #dae8f4'>should be worried about?
Avatar_n_tn I have been prescribed Wellbutrin for depression and <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax as a mood stabilizer. The combination worked very well for me and the bonus was that I lost weight. However, I also lost hair. I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same problem.
Avatar_n_tn My dr. put me on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax... for migranes, but also for weightloss... He says it will really kick in and start helping me shed weight once I get up to the 150-200mg mark. I am currently on 100mg's/day and will increase to 150mgs by the weeks end...then 200mg's by the following week... Anyone else use this drug and what are or: #dae8f4'>your experiances at the different dosage levels? I have no headaches at all which I love...
Avatar_n_tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing or: #dae8f4'>topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to or: #dae8f4'>topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
913054_tn?1242959393 I began taking <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for headaches and also to help with the weight gain from Effexor. About a month later, I realized the side effects were much greater than the help I was getting from the med so I began or: #dae8f4'>tapering or: #dae8f4'>off. I had read on the net from posters how horrible a med this is to get or: #dae8f4'>off and how long it takes to do it. I've been or: #dae8f4'>tapering or: #dae8f4'>off for about 20 days and just or: #dae8f4'>stopped 3 nights ago. Sick of that silly pill. The med caused me to turn into some kind of monster.
Avatar_f_tn I began taking <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax in Dec. 2001. prescribed by my Dr. for migraines and at the same time an experimental drug to help with manic depression. I was 31 at the time, had been on every medication known to man for depression and packed on 20 pounds while trying different ones. She suggested or: #dae8f4'>topamax as sort of an "all in one" drug considering one side effect of it was weight loss. Boy was she right, no migraines, no irratitic mood swings, and I dropped 25 lbs quick!
8590589_tn?1398853074 Can u take <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for weightloss while on a methadone maintence program? Is it safe? Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with the two together?
975514_tn?1325001538 The optimum levels for pain are between 150mg and 200mg. I am currently at 175mg. or: #dae8f4'>you may be able to taper or: #dae8f4'>off the Lyrica and ramp up on the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax at the same time and have or: #dae8f4'>your pain doctor take over the prescription so that or: #dae8f4'>you can get a stronger dosage- 50mg in clinical trials wasn't even strong enough to help migraines. GSDgirl- Fironol??? Do or: #dae8f4'>you mean Fibronol? I just Googled it and it looks like a supplement. Am I right? I am not familiar with that med/supplement.
Avatar_f_tn I just started <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax. I'm on 25mg/day and will increase by 25mg/week until I reach 100mg. I heard the weightloss effect depends on the dose. So, what dose did everyone here have their success? And what type of diet/eating plan and exercise plan did or: #dae8f4'>you do to help it along? I'm desperate to lose 40 lbs (half of which I gained on Zoloft-no longer taking). PLEASE respond if or: #dae8f4'>you had any weightloss on this drug, I'm very curious. THANK or: #dae8f4'>you THANK or: #dae8f4'>you THANK or: #dae8f4'>you!!!!!!!!!
Avatar_m_tn It's important to taper because abrupt withdrawal may cause seizure activity. We can't give specific taper plans, it's against policy. I can tell or: #dae8f4'>you that or: #dae8f4'>you'll feel a lot better or: #dae8f4'>tapering if or: #dae8f4'>you cut back a small amount of the drug over a longer period of time. Can or: #dae8f4'>you call the prescribing physician? This exact thing happened to me so I do understand. If or: #dae8f4'>you taper properly, it may take 8 weeks. Let me know if or: #dae8f4'>you have any other questions. Good luck!
Avatar_n_tn I regained consciousness with a '10' migraine (for those of or: #dae8f4'>you familiar with the 0-10 pain scale) and my migraine has not gone below a '6' despite being on 200mg of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax once nightly. It did not take long before the depression hit, 20mg of Lexapro in the or: #dae8f4'>morning, and I am still depressed to this day.
1415174_tn?1453246703 So, now they have put me on Cyproheptadine, and that didn't cut out the vertigo, then amitriptilyne and so far I gained a couple of pounds and have some trouble with short term memory but the number of migraine headaches is the same but I don't know about the vertigo yet. So, they are going to try also or: #dae8f4'>topamax but I am worried about the side effects.
Avatar_n_tn Anyway I am rambling. To get to point here, I started taking <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax about 10 days ago (obviously to avoid the headaches) I have tapered up to 100 mg/QD. I only take it night. It seems to be working, I have only had one headache, to speak of, so far and it was pretty mild in comparison. I mean I've had a few minor tension headaches, but nothing that really even warrants whining about. I even seem to be a little more optimistic than usual about the general state of...
284078_tn?1282620298 I hope anyone who uses <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax for any reason is fully aware of the serious risk of acute narrow angle glaucoma. I had read several articles about it but saw it firsthand last week. As usual on my quiet weekend or: #dae8f4'>off I got the dreaded call from the emergency room, again. This time about a woman on or: #dae8f4'>topamax for 7 days who seemed to have lost almost all her vision 12 hours after increasing her dose per her doctor's instructions.
Avatar_f_tn My doctor prescribes me loritab 10 and <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax. I have not started the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax because he says that I have to take it everday for the rest of my life and or: #dae8f4'>stopping it quickly can cause anurisms. The headaches are more severe and come on very quickly now. or: #dae8f4'>should I be concerned?
Avatar_f_tn I have been put on varying doses of Imitrex, Propranalol, Nifedipine, Relpex and am now on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax. My headaches are now ocurring everyday, they are there or: #dae8f4'>when I wake up and sometimes go away briefly throughout the day but nothing really seems to help. Recently i have also been experiencing significant mood and behavior changes. I have been crying or: #dae8f4'>when things aren't even sad and I have been experiencing moments of extreme rage where I scream at people and feel like hitting things.
Avatar_m_tn I started on 40mg of prednisone a day in the beginning of January. Then was put on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax about five weeks ago. At that point, my hair started falling out three times more than before. I'm talking my hands are covered every time I wash it, plus there is hair all over the bathroom floor, counter top, etc., by the time I'm done in there. It's getting really, really thing. I've been or: #dae8f4'>off the or: #dae8f4'>topamax for two weeks almost, and it's still falling out heavily. No signs of it slowing down.
Avatar_n_tn I suffer from chronic daily headaches and take upwards of 12 or more fioricet a day as well as <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>topamax and effexor for prevention of migraines. Since my doctor will only prescribe up to 6 fioricet per day, I have resorted to orderly brand fioricet online as $200 for 90 tablets. My questions are how to detox at home or: #dae8f4'>off fioricet - or: #dae8f4'>should I take 12 tabs, then 11 the next day, then 10 the next day or what? Also, is it illegal to get fioricet from my doctor as well as ordering online?
429209_tn?1224170189 but i am sure he knows what he is doing and if u follow his taper u or: #dae8f4'>should be fine..i know ativan is a slow taper...i had never heard of buspar withdrawal before....
Avatar_n_tn i would advise against cold turkey unless or: #dae8f4'>you want a world of pain.. for long term sub use, a long, slow taper is the best. Look at the "Health PAges" on the upper right and there are a lot of articles on Sub and or: #dae8f4'>tapering or: #dae8f4'>off... on the dose or: #dae8f4'>you are on, not adviseable to go cold turkey but slowly taper down. We can't or: #dae8f4'>offer specific tapers, best to use a doctor which is what i did... and yes, there are things to take with w/d symptoms which are also found in the Health Pages.
