Topamax low blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Topamax low blood pressure

topamax

Avatar f tn Prednisone would raise your blood pressure (blood sugar, etc), and that in turn could cause headaches and other symptoms. It should reduce the inflammation on your face, but alas, pred can have quite a few side effects.
Avatar n tn I am 32 and have suffered from migraines for about 3 years. They started pretty much out of the blue, however, a lot of people in my family suffer from them. I have tried nortriptaline, amitriptaline, verapamil, all without success. The first two didn't do anything for my migraines, and the verapamil made my blood pressure so low I couldn't function.
Avatar f tn I started taking Topamax a week ago. I have had a constant low pressure headache since. Also I have been experiencing odd heartbeats, night sweats, and dizziness. Does anyone else have the same symptoms? I have high hopes that Topamax will help with my extreme daily headaches and moderate depression.
Avatar f tn That is the reason you are unable to keep the eyes open . IIH may not lead to high blood pressure but the raised blood pressure may be due to the stress because of headaches . Please consult another neurologist for the management of the symptoms . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn ve found that it works fairly well, with very minimal side effects (feeling cold a lot since my blood flow is lower, and lower blood pressure since I tend to have low blood blood pressure to begin with). What dose of Topamax are you on? It may need to be increased if it isn't working, or you might need to look for another medication.....
Avatar m tn First my NS put me on Diamox Sequels (the time release version), 1000mg per day. It left me fatigued and made my blood pressure too low. Also, I had a constant pins and needles feeling in my hands, feet, and face. Now I take the regular Diamox, 500mg per day (250mg am, 250mg pm). I don't have side effects and the headache is gone. I tried going off of it for a couple of days and the headache came back. The dose I am at is not technically a therapeutic dose, but it's enough for me.
Avatar f tn For the last few days I've had a sharp throbbing headaches on the right side of my head. It gets extremely worse when I turn my head to the right or lean forward. I've taken Ibuprofen, tension headache, I've even tried 2 800mg Ibuprofen nothing seems to help. I do have high blood pressure, in which I check often, and is controlled with HCTZ 25mg and a low sodium diet. I'm doing some research to see if I can take care of this problem without going to the doctor.
Avatar f tn My sister had thyroid cancer, niece has goiter, aunt died of throat cancer and brother has throat cancer. I just had blood work because suddenly in June I developed a temple pressure headache. The doctor put me on 25 mg of topamax and I had already been on Prozax 20 mg for 12 years. My eyes, nose, and everything else is dry to the point of I had to rush to the eye doctor (had extremely dry eye), nose sores that bleed, and now my hair is falling out.
Avatar f tn Beta blockers keep this from happening in some people so they will pass out or get dizzy upon standing or anything that lowers the blood pressure (cause the heart rate is blocked). Sometimes exercise can aggravate low blood pressure and so can getting overheated - I have this problem. I have bursts of tachycardia that make me feel like I'm going to die during exercise. This is due to a drop in blood pressure. Beta blockers can be very difficult for people to adjust to.
Avatar n tn I dont think I have a Tumor, I dont have vision problems, balance issues, nausea, cognitive problems, vomiting, irritability, ear infection, ive never had sinus problems in my life, i dont have allergies, I have had blood pressure all over the map the last few months but i believe it tied to pain response and migraines. For the last week my BP has been very LOW. averaging 105/70.
1448748 tn?1312956208 I have a headache that is dull most the time or what I would describe as pressure, kind of pushing on my ears if feels or behind my eyes. My question is about Topomax, I recently gained quite a bit of weight even through proper diet and excersize. I know that a possible side effect of this drug is weight loss, so that would be a plus and that is why I am thinking about this drug in particular over some of the other headache medicines.
Avatar m tn So, I am not a doctor, but one of the side effects I am reading about from Topamax is an increased ammonia level in the blood. Then I read that heightened ammonia in blood can lead to kidney stones, hair loss and confusion...all side effects of Topamax. So, my thinking is that adding water and maybe some milk thistle or other liver supporting supplements may help tip the balance back.
Avatar f tn Thank you!

12182312 tn?1427683956 ve learned about blood pressure about the past year though that 112 / 70 is not too low and some might even say it's ideal to have those numbers. You can always ask your doctor for more information but as I understand, unless your numbers go below 80 / 50 or you're fainting your blood pressure is not too low. Good luck!
Avatar f tn t give me anything they just want to check me sooner and if my blood pressure is still low they will take me for a c section that day ! I told him I've been feeling really tired and weak lately, he said if it keeps on going or gets worse to call him ASAP !
Avatar f tn (Laying on your back during pregnancy compresses a blood vessel that causes your blood pressure to drop) This happens so often, it has me worried. What can i do to raise my blood pressure? It makes me so tired when i have these "episodes". I lay on my left side when it happens, to get my blood circulating better, and I've even tried elevating my legs above my heart. I also drink plenty of water, and I've even increased my intake recently. What can i do? And is it bad for baby?
Avatar f tn I have low blood pressure to. The doctor didn't seem worried. They told me to eat protein foods and salty foods! My sister had had low pressure with all her babies and they are all healthy! Good luck!
