5 months and since then noticed some issues with my left eye. Within a month of being on Topamax my left eye seemed very dry, so I thought I was suffering from allergies (which I do have). I purchased some over the counter allergy eye drops, which caused my left eye to dilate, which scared me. Being cautious, I went to see a optician for a basic check up because I know about the possible Glaucoma complication with Topamax as well. I got a clean bill of health.

Real dizzy brain fog like feeling and eyes get real red and numb feeling more on right surgery eye. 10-3-16 want to neurology dr. Put me on topamax 25 mg don't like that drug makes me stupid sleepier. But staying on it for now. Getting brain mri this week. I feel the brain fog coming on 30 min after waking up ears fill up with pressure like fluid then eyes get heavy. I need to lay down. Then around 3 pm it's gets bad again. Also dr sending me to ENT MONDAY TO LOOK AT EARS.

I have been taking topamax for migraine prevention for approximately 4 months. All of a sudden, I have experienced joint pain and stiffness. I found out that topamax can lead to these side effects. however, I have gradually gone off the topamax and have quit taking it for approximately 4 - 5 days. Today I am still stiff (shoulders, knee, wrist and ankles) and my ankles are swollen. Do you think this is still a side effect of Topamax in my system?

I suffered from acute angular glocoma after taking the meds fo only 10days, eye pressures in the eighties, I now have irreversable eye damage with extreme light sensitivity. I am unable to tollerate flourecents as my pupil remains fixed and dialated at all times. I am not considered completely disable yet unable to find employment that does not have flourescents in my field of work.

Also, can I wear eye makeup (mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow) while I have blepheritis? Any other suggestions on how not to get any eye infection as I have had two while one these drugs and I have never had these before. I am not currently wearing any eye makeup since I had blepheritis.

Topamax, Zoloft & Abilify. I was wondering if me taking the Topamax (or any of the other meds) would possibly cause me to have the possible Papilledema? I have been on it for almost 2 years now and the possible Papilledema was not seen during last years eye exam....... Thank you so much in advance! i was diagnosed with migraines and they prescribed topamax for preventative medication and i was wondering approx how long this would take to see an affect? i seem to have mostly visual problems and some pain with my migraines.. my perception definately feels off and my eye gets really low on the right side of my head.. i was wondering .. does it make a difference in a dignoses with it being on one side of my head mostly?? and i seem to be so depressed ever since these symptoms started...

The mean plasma elimination half-life is 21 hours and it is excreted in 4-5 days. It may cause eye problems like sudden decrease in vision with or without eye pain and redness, secondary angle closure glaucoma etc. this could also cause decreased sweating and increased body temperature. My eyes, nose, and everything else is dry to the point of I had to rush to the eye doctor (had extremely dry eye), nose sores that bleed, and now my hair is falling out. The doctor did hormone and thyroid test and just called they are normal. He put me on biotin for a month. Should I stop the topamax or go further with blood work since my family has problems. He said the biotin and a multivitamin should help but I have mood swings, constaption, headaches...just don't know? Any ideas.

I have been on 100mg of Topamax for almost a month (the 22nd of this month) for cluster headaches and have had a variety of side effects. I take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night. I thought I was going to lose my mind honestly. But I was told that the side effects would taper off more than likely. Which the vast majority have. I no longer feel dumber than a rock (I wasn't even able to compose an email without reading it very slowly 4-5 times before sending it). And I feel pretty normal.

well, she would not be able to function at all without the topamax. The topamax gave her her life back. She still has pain and still needs to use strong pain medications for break-through pain but... without the topamax she would be completely disabled and would not be able to walk or use her hands at all. On the topamax she lives a very normal life! So, I think it is a very useful medication for chronic pain.

Hello, 12 months ago I suffered a fractured eye socket after i was hit by a ball travelling about 100 miles an hour playing cricket. I suffered nerve damage which resulted in me having numbness from the bottom of my eyelid running down beside my nose to my upper lip, causing pins and needles sometimes. They said it may resolve in about 12 months but considering it hasnt now I am assuming it will stay that way.

I took Topamax for awhile trying to stop a "non-stop" headache. The side effects were bad enough for me that it was discontinued. The lack of balance and eye pain I had were what my neurologist decided were reasons to discontinue. I am a 24 year old female who went to the eye doctor for ulcers which have formed and while being examined the dr told me that i had a swollen optic nerve. From this visit i immediately went to a neurologist and he sent me to get a MRI the MRI came back normal and came to the conclusion that for the time being i would take the topamax in hopes that the swelling would go down, since that i have gone to see the dr twice and really no change has occured.

Has anyone had any interactions/reactions with the drug Topamax when prescribed for BPII & OCD. My understanding from the drug handout is that it is normally prescribed for migraines, seizures and weight loss. My doc has just increased my dosage to 100mg 3x per day. I have experienced some deterioration in my eyesight however I'm not sure if that's attributed to age (hadn't had my eyes examined in 2 years) or the Topamax which I've been on a lower doze for 6 weeks.
