Trust me it is not the Topamax that is the cause of your vision. I have been to a opthamoligist and that was my first confirmation. And i went to my neroligist he also said Topamax was not the cause of my eye sight problems. In fact i have a cateract in my left eye.I also stopped the Topamax for a little while. But i will go back to it in a couple months.It did help with the migranes. And i have been takeing it for Eight years with no problems. Good luck.

also after you took the topamax did you get kinda tired

I had been taking Topamax for migrane prevention but it was causing significant memory and thinking problems. I tappered off the Topamax over about 1 1/2 - two weeks. I am now wondering getting off Topamx caused me to have 2 siezures. What do you think?

Consult the physician first, especially if your vision problems began after you started taking Topamax.

I started Topamax and it makes me feel so bad. The pain is worse than before? is this normal? my feet hand and vision are all affectative. Numbness in feet and hands, just plain can't see. blured vision. lousy feeling .

and i have bad peripheral vision .. my doctor prescribed topamax.. i am wondering how long it would take too notice the affects???

The changes in peripheral vision which are transient, could possibly be a type of visual migaine among other things. The blurred vision could be from many different things. The double vision and droopy eyelids could possibly indicate myasthenia gravis so you should have blood tests for that. I suggest you see an neuro-ophthalmologist and he can give you the specific personal information about your case that you need to know.

For 5 months now i have been suffering with headaches on the top of my head, allways in the same area,i have no problems with vision..The headache started very badly one morning and i vomited 15 times in 3 hours,i had to rush to the doctors to get a pain killing injection..Since this episode i have moderate headaches everyday, if the pain increases the nausea starts.does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?i am now being sent to a nerologist.

Topamax is used for a lot of things it isn't necessarily labeled for. It's also used for treatment of nerve-related pain. Docs love to give it to patients with spine pain because it's not a narcotic. I know topamax has helped people with pain, but I wasn't one of them. I got every side effect on the fine-print enclosure, including a wooden tongue and numb, nearly paralyzed extremeties. Hadn't even titrated up to a "therapeutic" dose yet.

When was the last time you have been thoroughly evaluated? Coagulation factors, blood sugar and vision problems need to be determined to rule out any other underlying conditions. I have no pain or discharge in that eye......I have noticed no halos or any problems with my vision before or after the blurry vision starts. I recently got DX'd with bursitis in my R hip and my R heel has been tingling & going numb. I still have blurry vision most of the time and headaches often and it does scare me that I;m not taking anything for the MS. I cannot take beteseron because it lowers my white count(as do some of the other ones) and I took copaxone which speed up my heart rate way to fast so I was taken off that too. Kinda feel like there is nothing left to do?? is there?

It reminds me of when I am shooting photos and my camera is focusing over and over on an object. It comes and goes. I explained this to my Dr. and she told me that some people have vision anomalies while adjusting to the medication. But then immediately referred me to an ophthalmologist so it freaked me out a little. and lastly 4.) My energy- I am exhausted 24/7. I am used to being on the go constantly.

Weeks went by with no symptoms, then another episode of weakness and balance problems, accompanied by vision and memory problems.
