I take the synthyroid (complete thyroidectomy Dec 2008) and coumadin (DVT) at the same time and then 1 1/2 hrs later, I take topamax (migraine) and protonix (GERD). Is this enough time between each?

What help is there to stop this now. Increase topamax or what? Help these hurt and makes it very hard to deal with going to work and family life. Family doctor is doing lab work on my in about 3 wks for this when he rechecks my synthroid levels. But that can seem so far away.

I am glad you are at least getting the support of a Celebrate Recovery group, but am sorry you are not able to get "formal therapy" right now. It's really great though that you are taking the initiative to go to that group though. That's a big step in itself that you are doing it for yourself you know? Do you have insurance by chance? I know that's a bit of a personal question but insurance does usually help with therapy and such.

I have a stint in because the lupus caused me to have blockage to my heart. I take prednisone, synthroid, Raneka,topamax, synthroid,premarin,metoprolol, premarin,lexapro,plavix, baby aspirin. I would love to be able to get Lazik eye surgury. Am I a candidate for this procedure? If so do you know any good surgueons in the ATL area?

I am on topamax now and some side effects are hard to deal with. my dr is decreasing my dosage. my side effects are that my arms and legs are numb and tingling like pins and needles and I am very tired I have diahreea alot. you have to stay in contact with your doc while on the medication.

I have reduced quite all my medication and I feel like slowly back to being the person i used to be I am currently taking only 50mg of Topamax and I can say that the pain disappeared almost completely and the goal is to be free of this medicine at year end. Also I have feelings of anger, because I think I've been taking Topamax for over 10 years without any sense. I think I have found what was the source of all my chronic pain and Topamax was not helping me at all.

I've been taking Topamax for about 2.5 months and since then noticed some issues with my left eye. Within a month of being on Topamax my left eye seemed very dry, so I thought I was suffering from allergies (which I do have). I purchased some over the counter allergy eye drops, which caused my left eye to dilate, which scared me. Being cautious, I went to see a optician for a basic check up because I know about the possible Glaucoma complication with Topamax as well.

Has anyone ever responded to the original questions posted in 2010? I am curious. I have been taking 300 mg Wellbutrin and 200 mg Topamax since May 2016 and have lost approx 30lbs. I wasn't aware of the side affects and my doctor said as long as I feel fine there is no reason to run tests. I just want to make sure others are having this same significant weight loss.

All of a sudden, I have experienced joint pain and stiffness. I found out that topamax can lead to these side effects. however, I have gradually gone off the topamax and have quit taking it for approximately 4 - 5 days. Today I am still stiff (shoulders, knee, wrist and ankles) and my ankles are swollen. Do you think this is still a side effect of Topamax in my system?

Does this have anything to do with the TSH? Or is he just thinking it may be related to my back problem. He thinks I have myofascial pain syndrome or maybe fibro. 3. My neurologist said that the vertigo I have may be migraine related but also may be thyroid related.

I just logged on here at 3 am to see if anyone else had these symptoms with this drug. my legs and arms are numb and like needles and pins, I have diahrrea and nausa every day and food dosen't tast good at all. Going to a Metabolic Clinic Thursday and will have new Labs drawn. Right now Im hoping this Topamax will at least relieve me from migraines. Im hoping someone on this forum has tried and had good luck with it...

Hi everyone! I was just released from the hospital and I have Pseudo Tumor Cerebri and ICP. I am 33 year old female and never had a headache problem so this constant pain *****:( I know that Topamax won't treat a headache but helps to prevent... But I wanted to hear if anyone had any positive experiences with Topamax? Today is only my second day and I've only noticed mild dizziness. Any major side effect experiences? Thanks a bunch!!

hello, anyone on topamax? I've been on it for about five weeks and its been great for my migraines but I've been having a lot of side effects! like tingling in my hand and feet and really bad heart burn every day! also get moody and cry. very bad fatigue too. will any of this go away???

Hi....TOPAMAX is not the type of Drug to take and then stop and take again, as it takes 2 weeks to adjust to the med.....and during that time u will feel foggy and extremely tired if u r nething like me, u may have anxiety bcuz u have a fear of the med...I took it and the only issue I had was during the 2 week adjustment period,...and when I stopped them and I was taking them everyday for a few yrs I got headaches nothing else.....

I've been taking Topamax 50mg-100mg daily and I have been also taking Yasmin. The two were told to me to be ineffective when used together, so I've been using a back up method of condoms. I'm unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?

Diet modification and supplementation is a good alternative in decreasing the dosage and the associated side effects of certain medicatons such as topamax. Take care and best regards.

5 mcg to help with my calcium levels and I take those 3 times a day with calcium pills. And I also recently started taking topamax 25mg 2times a day for migranes.

I had finally been put on .225mg of synthroid and was finally feeling better. The fog had lifted and I could sleep, the migraines had pretty much gone or diminished and my hair was and skin was somewhat normal. Then my new TSH levels came back at .003...too high. They had to reduce my synthroid. They put me on .2 and now almost all of my symptoms have returned. The migraines are the worst (and I even take Topamax daily for them) I told my endocrinologist...

Hi.....I have both migraines and depression. My neuro doc put me on Topamax (I take it daily) for migraine management and when I do get "breakthrough" migraines I take Maxalt. The Topamax has worked wonders!!! But it isn't without some nasty side effects. Initially it causes your feet, hands and face to tingle (that goes away)....but it plays hell with your memory (not everyone gets this, but I did). It takes away your appetite (at least it did for me).

I take the birth control pill Minastrin 24 Fe and for about a month now I have been taking Topamax as a mood stabilizer. I recently had unprotected sex and I read that Topamax may interfere with oral contraceptives. If I still take my birth control pill at the same time everyday, should I be protected from pregnancy?

I decided to work out on the 7th and it was not a good idea I started to work out and I started to sweat than stopped and started getting goose bump and got really dizzy so I stopped and sat down, aparently this combintaion of medication blockes the ability to sweat and put the body temp very high!!! so I decided I would not take this medication anymore....
