I just found out I was pregnant and I am so happy!! I have severe migranes and I was taking fioricet up until I knew I was pregnant. I am guessing I am only about 2 or 3 weeks pregnant. I am concerned that I was taking fioricet before I knew I was pregnant. Does anyone have any information for me? I stopped immediately when I found out I was pregnant. I hope I haven't done any harm to the fetus.

Our son passed away gtom the use of Topamax during our pregnancy and our current pregnancy our daughter is being affected again.. so the answer is yes.

I've been taking Topamax for about 2.5 months and since then noticed some issues with my left eye. Within a month of being on Topamax my left eye seemed very dry, so I thought I was suffering from allergies (which I do have). I purchased some over the counter allergy eye drops, which caused my left eye to dilate, which scared me. I take the birth control pill Minastrin 24 Fe and for about a month now I have been taking Topamax as a mood stabilizer. I recently had unprotected sex and I read that Topamax may interfere with oral contraceptives. If I still take my birth control pill at the same time everyday, should I be protected from pregnancy?

I am glad you are at least getting the support of a Celebrate Recovery group, but am sorry you are not able to get "formal therapy" right now. It's really great though that you are taking the initiative to go to that group though. That's a big step in itself that you are doing it for yourself you know? Do you have insurance by chance? I know that's a bit of a personal question but insurance does usually help with therapy and such.

I decided to work out on the 7th and it was not a good idea I started to work out and I started to sweat than stopped and started getting goose bump and got really dizzy so I stopped and sat down, aparently this combintaion of medication blockes the ability to sweat and put the body temp very high!!! so I decided I would not take this medication anymore....

Within a week it went from pins and needles to a piercing pain as if being stung by bees and kept getting worse. They stopped the Topamax and within a week all the sensations that were happening while I was on Topamax went away. Suffered all that and didn't even lose a lb.

We were hoping to have children soon, and were told I couldnt get pregnant while on this drug. What happens if we want to start trying for a baby, do I come off Topamax, and the symptoms come back? Or do I stay on it and not try for a baby for a long time???

I was on it before I got pregnant and my dr said if I had still been on it she would've taken me off as it can cause birth defects

It sure helps to know when you are not alone and others have the same side effects. Topamax helps my migraines and the weight loss is a plus too but the memory is suffering when it comes to writing and speech...like spelling...sometimes I know the word to use but can not even think of the letters to look it up so I end up using a different word in it's place...very frustrating. Speaking is another story. Sometimes it just isn't worth it to talk at all.

I am on topamax now and some side effects are hard to deal with. my dr is decreasing my dosage. my side effects are that my arms and legs are numb and tingling like pins and needles and I am very tired I have diahreea alot. you have to stay in contact with your doc while on the medication.

Hello, i'm a 16 year old boy and i was prescribed topamax 25mg for migraines over a year ago. A few months ago i was also prescribed wellbutrin 300mg and prozac 10mg for depression and anxiety. When I first started taking the topamax i hardly sweated. I did start sweating a fair amount before taking the wellbutrin and prozac but the sweating has just increased since then and i've been getting large stains on my armpits just from sitting in class.

Has anyone here been on Topamax and gone through a pregnancy with no difficulties? I found out that I am pregnant I am unsure of how far along I am at this time but I am on 200 mg a day currently and I think I am 5 weeks right now. I have not been diagnosed with seizures but have severe headaches even on the 200 mg :( even after being decompressed.

I did discuss the possability of this being the side effects of my Topamax, and she asked me what symptoms I was having before going on Topamax, and after I told her everything except for the falling and blackouts, she said no, it's not from the Topamax. She said if it wasn't for the fact of me falling and having episodes closer and closer together with a 5 year laps, she would have ruled out MS. Everyone please wish me the best of luck. I am on 100 mg of topamax a day ( 50mg 2x daily) and got a sinus infection on day 7 of starting topamax, been battling it for over a week now with antibiotics and it doesnt seem to be going away. Doctor said that I might have to decrease my topamax and I really dont want to as it seems to be working, if anything I was hoping to increase my topamax dose... Anyone else suffer this side effect, did it go away?

I have reduced quite all my medication and I feel like slowly back to being the person i used to be I am currently taking only 50mg of Topamax and I can say that the pain disappeared almost completely and the goal is to be free of this medicine at year end. Also I have feelings of anger, because I think I've been taking Topamax for over 10 years without any sense. Has anyone ever responded to the original questions posted in 2010? I am curious. I have been taking 300 mg Wellbutrin and 200 mg Topamax since May 2016 and have lost approx 30lbs. I wasn't aware of the side affects and my doctor said as long as I feel fine there is no reason to run tests. I just want to make sure others are having this same significant weight loss.

I am not sure if anyone can help me out with this but I have a friend that is on Topamax (Topiramate) for seizures and she just found out she is 7 weeks pregnant. She had been pregnant before but had a miscarriage. She is very scared because she can’t find any information on this medication to tell her if or if not this medication will hurt the baby. Although Topamax is primary metabolized via the cyp450-3A4 and Welbutrin is is primary metabolized via the cyp450-2B6, there is some secondary drug/drug interaction between them. It is not a major interaction but can cut the effectiveness of one or both of the medications. Typically, when we have someone on anti-depressants that also suffers from migraines, we co-prescribe Gabitril (available as generic Tiagabine ) which is not to be confused with Gabapentin.

I had decompression surgery in 2009 but it didn't relieve the headaches all that much. I am now pregnant and the meds I was on before pregnancy (Topamax & Vicodin), of course I can't take now and Tylenol is not helping much at all. All of a sudden, I have experienced joint pain and stiffness. I found out that topamax can lead to these side effects. however, I have gradually gone off the topamax and have quit taking it for approximately 4 - 5 days. Today I am still stiff (shoulders, knee, wrist and ankles) and my ankles are swollen. Do you think this is still a side effect of Topamax in my system?

I just logged on here at 3 am to see if anyone else had these symptoms with this drug. my legs and arms are numb and like needles and pins, I have diahrrea and nausa every day and food dosen't tast good at all. The pain kept getting worse and worse so I finally saw a nurse practitioner about 2 months ago and she put me on Topamax. I starting taking it and the headaches slowly dulled if anything and then a new pain started at the base of my skull by the middle of my lower neck. I had to recently stop taking the Topamax because I found out I was pregnant.

Hi everyone! I was just released from the hospital and I have Pseudo Tumor Cerebri and ICP. I am 33 year old female and never had a headache problem so this constant pain *****:( I know that Topamax won't treat a headache but helps to prevent... But I wanted to hear if anyone had any positive experiences with Topamax? Today is only my second day and I've only noticed mild dizziness. Any major side effect experiences? Thanks a bunch!!
