Does a sore throat and mild stuffed nose 5 weeks past exposure sound like a symptom of hiv
This is happening to me. I also had my right wisdom tooth removed, now my throat is sore and my right ear hurts. It is really painful, I am wondering what I should do?
At this time I also had a pain under my jawline ( the side of the painful wisdom tooth only) - is this the lymph node? If the sore throat is down to an infected wisdom tooth - would it be contagious, say if I kissed my girlfriend??? She has no symptoms of a sore throat so i'm guessing no???? Thanks for any replies.
In early March he developed a fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes. He saw a doctor and strep throat and mono were ruled out as a cause. The doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 3 times a day for 10 days. He felt fine after a couple of days and all was well. But about two weeks later the same symptoms returned (w/ a fever of 101.6) and the doctors ruled out strep and mono once again and put him on the same medication regimen. Could his symptoms possibly stem from a tooth abscess??
Two weeks ago I developed a pain upon swallowing and sometimes my tongue is sore. (both on the same side as the affected tooth) I went back to the dentist and there is no infection at the procedure site. My dentist is waiting to see if the tiny bit of inflammation she sees on X-ray at the root settles down. The tooth itself does not hurt. Could my swallowing/tongue pain be a result of something going on in the nerve of this tooth?
I have had a sometimes severe sore throat for over a month. Had a scope put down my throat and the doctor says everything is normal....no growths, nodules, infection, etc. He suggested that maybe I had a virus and to come back in 6 weeks if the pain was still there and then he would repeat the procedure to see if there was a change. The pain does lessen sometimes but then comes back with a vengence. Mostly it is on the right side and, of course, the ears are also involved.
By monday evening I had congestion and a cough with a sore throat. By Wednesday morning my sore throat had become so bad that couldn't sleep Tuesday night and decided to go to the doctor. At the doctor I mentioned my ear was hurting as well and associated it to the sore throat. She looked into my ears and told me she say red and bulging. Also she did a strep culture and sent to the lab. She treated me with a 10 day x2 a day 875mg dosage of Amoxicillin for an ear infection and strep.

So, for the past 24 hours I have had a really bad sore throat. My throat looks red and it hurts when I swallow. I am all congested and cant breath, which means I cant sleep because I wake up so many times having to blow my nose only for it to clog back up again!!! Is there anything I can take? Throat drops? Decongestant?? ANYTHING!! My OB office is not open yet so I am looking for some input before I actually talk to them....
Stomach acid kills almost everything but the throat is susceptible especially since you swallow every few seconds. Take care of the tooth infection which will resolve the throat infection. I doubt its cancer or hiv but Im sure it feels devastating.
Removed it and decided to see the dentist 2 days ago i went to dentist to find out if the lower 3rd molar wisdom tooth was the cause of this repeated 1 sided sore throats, at this time 1 side of the throat where the wisdom tooth was had white spots the dentist showed me that my 3rd molar at top was decayed with smelled bad. So we decided to extract it, some bleeding occurred and by end of the day i got a 102.5 /39.5 fever.
Have had hot sensation in my throat for 3months now, salty mucous too. Total discomfort in throat. No sore throat.. Pls what could be the cause.
I have for the past week had a wisdom tooth coming in, it looked as if it was coming through my cheek the pain in that has for the most part stopped, however, it's still swollen back there, and the other morning, I woke up with a really bad sore throat, out of no where, it felt like strep, however, my throat isn't pussing, and my toncils aren't really swollen, Now this morning Day 8 My nose is stuffy, but really thick bright green mucus?
The doc said to check with the dentist to see if it was wisdom tooth related so went to dentist they weren't sure and referred me to an oral surgeon who could not be sure that it was but went ahead and removed the left impacted wisdom tooth. Now I have an infection the clinic put me on 300 mg of clindamycin 4 times a day, and I am due to see the surgeon again tomorrow but the swelling and hardness in my jaw and neck is still there.
Two weeks ago I had a severe toothache went to dentist and put on an antibiotic one week later wisdom tooth extracted pain still persists, drainage, foul taste and smell, upset stomach, pain in jaw and ear and sore throat. Spoke to the dentist and was instructed to continue antibiotic and salt water rinses. I finished the antibiotic and all symptoms still present is this normal and should I be doing something else. I am nervous that I should be taking more antibiotics or doing something else.
I figured this to be infection. The pain is excrutiating, however if an infection is present, I don't think it is too bad. Can this infection heal on it's own without the use of antibiotics? It has been almost 4 days after the extraction....
I am experiencing severe pain in the lower back region of my mouth, also have the feeling of severe sore throat. I have what looks like a blister or inflamed gum beside my last back lower tooth. What do you think it could be. The hygenist cleaned my bottom teeth.
I woke up this morning with what I guess I would call a sore throat, except it doesn't feel like the same kind oof sore throat I usually get with colds. It only hurts when I swallow and feels like its closer to the back of my mouth, possibly before the tonsils, than my throat. The pain is also only on the left side. From what I can tell I don't have any swelling in my neck or anything. This is yet another of odd mouth symptoms that I have had in the last few weeks.
The sore throat felt localized and almost felt more like there may be sores down my throat as opposed to an "overall" sore throat. The soreness came and went away, but would return when I ate food that was bad for sore throats. The taste bud problem completely went away. My neck was pretty sore around the beginning of the sore throat. Two weeks ago or so ago I started having a cough with white mucous.
Could an STD cause a sore throat/tooth infection? Can anxiety cause a sore throat? I don't have a lot of $ so I don't want 2 go see a doctor & have tests done if I'm just being paranoid. Help me! Thanks.
Hi there, Though I can confirm the cause only after an evaluation but it is possible that infected tooth can lead to sore throat. Whenever there is a cavity or tooth decay the food gets lodged in the tooth. The bacteria feed on the rotted foodstuff and eventually enter the Eustachian tube through the infected tooth. The Eustachian tube connects the throat, teeth; ears, eyes and head, infection that enters via the tooth can migrate or settle at one or more of these points causing pain.
I had protected anal sex and unprotected oral sex with someone about one month ago. After 9 or 10 days later, I start to have symptoms like coughing, sore throat, dry mouth, dry lip, and growing wisdom teeth on left side of the face with swollen gland (little bit pianful when you touch it). Most of symptoms diappearred after I drank a lot of water and couple days of antiboitoic medicine. However, coughing persisted till today (that is about almost 3 weeks now).
i have been on them for a month with no change i still have the feeling in my throat. A month ago my tooth at the top back of my throat was starting to throb and hurt when i ate anything and the gum around it hurts when i touch it. I went to the dentist yesterday and she said the tooth which i had root canal done around 10 years ago has got reinfected and caused abscess. I also need another root canal on another tooth along with 2 fillings.
Hello, It may be possible that tooth infection can cause pain in the ears and headache. When you eat, foodstuffs may get stuck in between your tooth where there is a cavity or filling not done/filling already came out. The bacterium feeds on the rotted foodstuff and eventually enters the Eustachian tube via the infected tooth. The Eustachian tube connects your throat, teeth, ears, eyes and head, infection that enters via the tooth can settle at one or more of these points causing pain.
Given the persistence of my pain, I returned to see a different dentist in the practice who did 2 more detailed xrays and saw a slight infection in wisdom tooth. I had the tooth removed the next day. The pain is still there and my throat is still sore. I questioned whether the white 'spot' in my jaw on the OPG could be a tumor, causing the pain. Because they feel it's condensing osteitis and have seen no change in size, etc. on the OPG, they said "no".
Throat doctor (is it a sinus issue?) OR should I go to a dentist (is it a tooth infection issue). I am tired of having the maxillary sinus get stopped up and blocked....tired of the awkward 'sensitive extra tissue' that randomly drains in my upper interior lip.....(and I promise you can not see it looking at me, it's not some major abnormal growth or anything that is visible).
Every time I talk it is always spewing out on the sides of my mouth. Nothing seems to make this go away. Now just recently I have a sore throat. I was wondering what these symptoms could be and I have noticed that each category has cancer listed under them. Can you help me out? I have no insurance and am wondering if I should get some for now to get this checked out. What do I have?
