Tooth implant in one day

Common Questions and Answers about Tooth implant in one day

teeth

Avatar m tn I did an implant on my tooth #10. The same day the doctor did tooth extraction and an immediate implant loading. on one side of the implant, there are some bone infection. It dose not cause much pain and swelling, but it cause the procedure of bone binding the implant very slow. I am very concern about the success rate of my implant under this condition. I would like to hear expert's opinion about it. How is the success rate under this situation.
Avatar m tn hello, i had an implant done 3 days ago after removal of my front upper tooth UR2, by the 'immediate loading' method. Everything seems to be fine, no pain, no bleeding etc, except for the strange feeling in my implanted tooth and the adjacent tooth UR1. The area feels a bit 'tight' ( i would describe this sensation to be similar to when i floss my teeth and the dental floss stucks between two of them causing a funny feeling of tightness).
Avatar n tn , the 2 wisdom teeth are not necessary to remove for the implant. they are #17 and #32. The one is ready to implant is #14. The bad one is # 3 which I plan to implant after #14. If I do implant on #14 now and remove #14, then do implant, not remove #17 and #32, is the risk for implant failure high? thanks again.
Avatar n tn The right eye tooth needed a root canal next, but the pain continues in the first implant. I went to an oral surgeon and he said the implant was infected and in my sinus cavity. This implant was removed. The my jaw did not heal correctly, because there were bone fragments and pus were the first tooth was removed, and implant. The second implant was pinching into my jaw and they was a notch there, and this implant was remove.
Avatar m tn I have one tooth severely losen and had it extracted. I expect to have an implant some time later. At the time of extraction, the dentist told me I need have bone graft and it should be done at the time of tooth extractio or at least within two weeks after the extraction. But I did not follow his advice and just simply had the tooth extracted. My question is if I am to have an implant later, can I still have bone graft at that time?
Avatar n tn ve had major dental work since an accident back in high school and the implant tooth was my front tooth:(
Avatar m tn From the x-ray of my implant, I found that my implant is too close to tooth #9 and the bone in between my implant and tooth #9 not grow much to integrate with the implant. I could also see the implant through my front gum, the gray color show off. I deeply worried and began to consult with some oral surgeons and some implant specialist. When they see the x-ray, all their first reaction is: This implant is not good. So, I took a CT Scan to see the implant 3-dimension.
Avatar f tn I wanted to make sure the left upper implant didn’t fail . ( I had one failure already ! ) I really can’t tell if an implant has failed because I’m wearing a temp bridge ! What is the excruciating pain comes and goes mostly when I lay down and very sensitive to cold liquids ! I almost died with cold mouthwash ! The other side nothing . My dentist said maybe the tooth ( canine ) needs a root canal . I really wish he would have took an X-ray ! Why is he making me wait . Any ideas ?
Avatar n tn I am 25 and need to replace a missing tooth. I am undecided between implant and bridge. My dentist has told me that normally for people my age he would advise implants, however, since my adjacent teeth have fillings, he told me that I should strongly consider a bridge. However, I am afraid of the damage that may be caused to the adjacent teeth. What do you think? Thanks!
Avatar m tn or do the job until they get it right? I was reading in one of these forums that someone signed a release or something for implant work and when implant failed they were out thousands and the dentist would not redo work...ouch !
Avatar n tn hi, i had a tooth implant done about a week ago and having some throbbing in that area is this normal?
Avatar m tn i need one for a molar and between the implant (the post put in your jawbone) and the crown (the tooth that screws on it) the cost was around $5000. this changes with the type of tooth being replaced and what part of the country you live in. the front teeth are cheaper.
Avatar f tn My dentist told me after it happened that it would likely need a root canal done one day, but said it could be a year or ten years, no way of knowing.
Avatar m tn Now I need to change the denture and was thinking of fixed bridge instead..but Im worried of the effects in one of good tooth to be use as a support for the bridge.,was worried that it will be infected eventually also.Pls. enlighten me of the advantage and disadvantage of having bridge over dentures and the procedure to it.thank you.
Avatar n tn My tooth is growing in pain with each day. Last year I had the same pain in the same tooth. Since I was in a foreign country when the pain started I asked the dentist to first try a passive approach. He perscribed antibiotics. That same night I was in terrible pain. The next day I went to the dentist and he was delighted. There was an infection in the bone, which came to the surface. For one year the tooth was fine. Now, I feel the pain again.
Avatar f tn i searched for my tooth and i found it i didnt feel any pain except in my inner lip it was bleeding my tooth too....but nothing in the gum above my tooth...i went to the dentist immeadiatly he told meafter the x ray that the nerve is exposed after removing it he found a crack a vertical one from the right to the left....he told me that he cant put a crown and an implant must be done...
Avatar f tn Tooth number 30 was extracted due to a mesial to distal crack = poor prognosis. Because the tooth has multi-roots I was told to wait 4-6 months to let the bone heal then I can get an implant. For a second opion, I'd like to know what you think. (The tooth was extracted Mon, 8-10 - today is 8/15 - it's been five days.
Avatar n tn I went to the dentist approximately a year ago with tooth pain in one of my capped teeth. He took an x-ray and said it looked fine. Told me I was probably grinding my teeth at night. Six months late, I went back for check-up. Same tooth still hurt off and on - sometimes gum swelled underneath. My bite felt distorted from the swelling. Dentist told me to get a nightguard. Got nightguard - it seemed to help some nights, not others. The cap fell off last week. Dentist took another x-ray.
Avatar f tn And to throw this in the mix....my father-in-law is a dentist too. He advised me against the implant in the beginning because he didn't think the trauma to my face left me with enough bone to support it. I just finished the round of amoxicillin yesterday. The periodontist said we will play it by ear and if the infection stays away, then we will keep my appointment with him in September to do the gum graft.
Avatar f tn He told me to have it removed immediately and even called the dentist that put the implant in. I then went and saw the dentist that put in the implant and he also took xrays. He agreed that the bottom of the implant had entered the area with lots of nerves, but explained that instead of removing the implant, he thought it would be a better idea to raise the implant. I went ahead and let him raise it and hope I regain the feeling I've lost on my lower left face.
Avatar n tn re specially trained to do root canals and determine the restorability of a tooth. I generally refer my patients to an endodontist to determine the extent of cracks in teeth as they have mircoscopes that can magnify the tooth. If there is significant bone loss in an area where the crack leads, then it can indicate the crack is below the gum line quite deep into the bone. If a crack is deep, the bone around the crack will die and that's probably what hes seeing.
Avatar m tn I had a bad implant on tooth #10 which was put in on April 14, 2008. There is no bone cover the outer side of the implant. Also, the implant was placed in a position with close to #9. the implant was taken out on Aug. 14, 2008 by another doctor. She used BMP-2 which cause big swelling over 2-3 weeks. and light swelling afterwards. On Aug. 30. I noticed my #9 become loose and very sensitive to percussion. On that day, my gum on #9 and #10 was seriously inflamed.
Avatar m tn You will sacrifice two otherwise healthy teeth to accommodate one bad one. In addition, decay will form under the bridge after a while. This happened to me. Now I am in the process of getting implants. I should have done that years ago.
Avatar m tn Hi, There are two problems a missing tooth can generally cause. One, as you are finding out, the tooth above will supra-erupt. Eventually that tooth will be lost if it's already dropping and continues, unless you get some opposition to it. And, second, the tooth behind will try to drift forward to close the gap. This can also cause loss of that tooth. Please go and be evaluated for either of those two conditions and see what is your best course of treatment.
