Too much protein make you fat

Common Questions and Answers about Too much protein make you fat

protein

Avatar f tn But where does this energy come from? You deplete your reserved nutrients, break down muscle as an energy source. Did you know if you drink coffee after a meal the caffeine redirects your blood supply away from your intestines completely blocking digestion.?? The nutrients protein vitamins never get absorbed so you basically turn the food into poop. Another thing a learned the hard way is simply accepting the fact that I cannot digest fat greasy foods.
Avatar m tn m eating per day. What I did notice, and since have changed, is that I was eating too much protein. My BG levels had crept up to 150 and I had started eating these low carb high protein bars as snacks. Once I stopped eating those my BG levels came down to the 130's. I have since reduce protein amounts and I'm seeing fasting numbers in the 120 and under range. Any one else experience higher BG levels with too much protein?
1128565 tn?1316721143 Hi Not a poser have just been in a thyroid support group and have information off friend if you take too much thyroxine you can get toxic this just means your over active and have a build up of thyroxine in your system and your system goes over-active instead of under. It means excess is not converting in your body. So I wondered if you take too much steroid if it can stay in your system for longer so the ACTH stimulation test could be incorrect because of it staying in your system??
1319721 tn?1276040968 I just took a look at your food tracker. It means you are eating more dietary fiber than you need and not enough protein, fat, or other carbs. In other words, your diet isn't balanced. You need to add more protein in the form of dairy, meats, beans, etc; and fats, such as olive oil, avocado, nuts (also have protein), etc.
Avatar m tn Hi Mike, great question...I'll have to disagree with Hector on this one. The truth is the liver is intimately involved in what it takes to restore each stressed cell and every cell put through it's paces as you describe gets stressed, requires far more nourishment and excretes far more toxic byproducts. Cell turnover is closely related to activity levels. While activity is beneficial, too much, especially in late stage LD can do harm.
1415174 tn?1453243103 That is interesting. I do have several articles that say conflicting things about the growth factor causing too much ILGF etc. That is a good idea about balancing out the acid. But lemon juice is acidic and vinegar is too but you can't really change the body's Ph by what you eat unless you are seriously ill. You are right that your system is always in Ph balance. But some things can keep pushing it out of balance. I worry though about the overload on the kidneys?
Avatar f tn But, slow down and increase your calorie intake as you should have normally atleast 2000 calories with a balanced diet (Protein, Carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and some fat without cholesterol). I advice you to go to a professional dietician and make a diet chart on food what you like and what would be good to your body. Do mild cardio for 30 minutes daily and lose not more than 300 calories and you will be fine. If it does not work visit a Gyneaecologist. Take care!
783663 tn?1236200728 Your weight is just above the 25th percentile and your height is between the 10-25th percentile for your age. You are 17 and may not have finished growing yet. Males can grow up to 21-23 years old. If you do 'work out' with weights, you will gain weight. As you gain lean body muscle, you will gain weight because muscle weight more than fat. Suggest you eat 3 times a day with snacks between meals.
Avatar m tn Energy Bars May Not Have as much Protein as You Think! Baylor University researchers found that when men with at least 6 weeks of weight training experience were given a whey-casein mixture before their workouts, they built 50 percent more lean muscle mass over 10 weeks than men who took only whey. Some meal-replacement bars may not have as much protein as you think.
Avatar f tn You can gain upto 25-35 lbs throughout your pregnancy. It's healthy it sums up your placenta, amniotic fluid, breasts, Blood, protein and fat and baby. So don't worry once you give birth you can loose weight. Unfortunately I lost 8lbs for the past few weeks as I was down with nausea.
Avatar n tn So, your providers are correct to mention the weight gain to you. You may feel swollen, and you probably are retaining water, but much of the weight is probably NOT water. Unfortunately! One bit of advice for reducing swelling is to go swimming or soak in a bathtub. This will help to bring the fluid back into your circulation and then out your kidneys. It is only a temporary fix, but you can do it every day. Good luck!
Avatar m tn t eat enough of it without exploding your stomach to get as much protein as you need. How much you need depends on what you do -- a bodybuilder will need more than the rest of us. We don't need as much protein as many believe. All animal products have high protein, but also high fat, so you want to consider fat/protein ratio for health purposes. That makes fish a good source, since the fat in cold water wild fish is beneficial fat, while the fat in beef isn't.
4715985 tn?1371582997 Im hoping it stops at the third trimester too then lol plus i go threw milk like crazy! Does anyone know if theres such a thing as too much milk?
Avatar f tn To be honest I am a personal trainer and the combination of the exercise and suboxone got me in to incredible shape. I lost Body fat like crazy.
Avatar f tn re trying to accomplish. Too much protein is bad for your kidneys, too little is bad for growth and recovery from exercise. The above suggests certain people "need" a specific amount of protein, but that's not true if health is your goal -- different people will react differently and different conditions require different amounts. So there is no exact answer.
Avatar m tn Another thing to consider is what happens when the body receives a whopping amount of carbs or protein without fat. Did you know that protein is insulinogenic? This means if you eat a ultra rich protein meal without fat and little carbs, the body can respond by injecting insulin into blood, driving the blood sugar super low, and then this is followed by your body converting some of the protein to glucose, via a process called gluconeogenesis.
Avatar m tn What kind of protein supplement is best is very individual. Most humans can't digest dairy, but whey seems to be an exception to that for many. Might not be for you, might be. Soy is great for some, not so great for others. Rice protein is good for some, not so good for others. Nobody here can tell you which one your digestive system will tolerate the best. As for there only being one whey product that's any good, that's bogus. What's most important is what kind of whey.
Avatar f tn If your not working out your body will store the protein and make you fat. Protein can be found in nuts and beans with rice to make a complete protein. But to answer your question yes it's safe just as long as there isn't any added chemicals.
Avatar n tn Protein shakes keep being recommended to everyone on here who wants to gain weight, but too much protein is a problem and we have no idea how much protein people are eating who write on here. The only people in most developed countries who get too little protein are vegans sometimes if they don't eat well and advanced bodybuilders. Most Americans get too much protein. The simple way to gain weight is to add a meal. Pretty easy. Eat the same healthy foods you usually eat, just eat more.
Avatar n tn Agree with all of the above except the sports drink -- they have too much sugar, which causes inflammation. You can get all the electrolytes you need from food or just take a supplement, which is what a sports drink is with sugar added.
Avatar n tn s very difficult to eat THAT much protein on a daily basis! I would love to expiriement with a diet made up of 25% fat, 25% protein, and 50% carbs, although, I fear it will make me gain weight, which I am not looking to do. Some sources have stated that it's a matter of total calories, while others have emphasized high protein diets increasing the metabolism. I don't want to start gaining weight, but am curiouse as to what would come of redistributing my macronutrients?
