Too much protein fattening

Common Questions and Answers about Too much protein fattening

protein

Avatar m tn m eating per day. What I did notice, and since have changed, is that I was eating too much protein. My BG levels had crept up to 150 and I had started eating these low carb high protein bars as snacks. Once I stopped eating those my BG levels came down to the 130's. I have since reduce protein amounts and I'm seeing fasting numbers in the 120 and under range. Any one else experience higher BG levels with too much protein?
Avatar m tn I would try eating more carbs and protein. Don't eat unhealthy fattening foods just to jump up to the next weight level, as that will only hurt you in the long run. Though as long as you are eating healthily, eating enough food (not starving yourself/getting enough nutrients) and exercising, I wouldn't worry too much about the BMI calculations. There are some flaws with that system, so just try to stay healthy.
Avatar n tn Please don't think this is glib, but eat more of the healthy food you already eat and don't burn any more off. If what you really want isn't just to get larger but to gain muscle, then you have to do resistance training as well as eat more, and if you do that, you'll need additional high quality protein.

Avatar m tn Cushing’s syndrome should be looked for. The kidney function too should be assessed. Late night snacking and poor sleep too can cause weight gain. Certain medications like antidepressants cause weight gain. If all these causes are ruled out then you can start a diet and exercise program to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you must do it the scientific way for long term benefits, healthy glow, and a good physique and body.

7758733 tn?1402589420 For the most part when you are pregnant what you eat is more important then how much. Unless you are gaining excessive weight, focus on the nutrition (protein, vitamins, fiber, etc) not the calories. Just stay away from high sugar and high fat foods and you shouldn't have to worry too much about weight. Eating small, frequent meals is very healthy . I was always snacking when I was pregnant. Just choose healthy veggies, fruit, cheese, granola, etc.
8602384 tn?1399294033 Losing 45 pounds in 5 months on drugs is not something that most people can sustain, once off the drugs. Additionally, many people are not able to substitute 2 meals/day with a protein shake.. that's not something that's sustainable, long term. The best way to lose weight is to learn to eat the right foods in appropriate amounts and get as much exercise as you can do in a wheelchair. Check out YouTube for videos of chair yoga and other exercises.
1833444 tn?1325557062 I have a urinary track infection 2nd time in 3 months and pain on the right lower side the urine has high protein per doctor results. Is this damaging my liver in any way? How can this affect my liver with having Hep C stage 3 1b?
Avatar f tn I dont know where you are getting these numbers but that would kill you. Try another weight loss site. Research and read but that number is wrong. 1200 calories a day is usually a diet but there are equations that you can plug your numbers into for the correct calories for you.
Avatar m tn too much of anything is not good. Too exhaustive excersise can lower natural INF Moderate 30min cardio can increase it. Hep C causes insulin resistance in muscle. Excersise and healthy diet helps slowing this down.
Avatar n tn If you like Peanut butter, start with that. Peanut butter sandwich, shakes, it gives you protein and it's fattening but in a good way. It's not just empty calories.
3219519 tn?1345993889 My 4yr old son has seizures and he is on Topamax but I never heard it to be a weight loss pill. He eats very well and too much actually, It doesn't take his appetite away from him. You might want to look more into to that.

Avatar f tn It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc). Drink plenty of water and non fattening fluids such as clear soups etc. Look for hidden calories in salads and soups and avoid them (eg: cheese, butter, dressings etc). Also, you need to exercise regularly. You need to start slow and then build up stamina as the days progress.

Avatar f tn Yes I have had this since 21 wks and I'm currently 26 +1 and still have too much, just failed my glucose tolerance so it's more then likely caused by diabetes
Avatar m tn Some can effortlessly lose about 3 kg in a month. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives. The best way is to join a nutrition expert and a physical trainer (or a gym) and follow their advice.
