T TASTE ANYTHING.....CAN THIS BE CAUSED BY MS OR NOT....SOME TIMES MY TASTE BUDS GO AWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT THEY COME BACK, BUT THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEELING THAT I'M EXPERIENCING......I ALSO HAVE SOME SINUS PROBLEMS BUT NEVER HAD THIS WITH MY SINUS INFECTIONS BEFORE......WHAT DO YOU THINK.....I'M REALLY STARTING TO WORRY....IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE A PIECE OF TAPE FROM THE BACK TO THE FRONT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TONGUE.....WHAT DO I DO.....CAN YOU GIVE ME AN ANSWER ASAP, PLEASE...

Go to the doctor immediately when you have sores and get them cultured for herpes and herpes type. Tiny red bumps on the tip of your tongue may be inflamed taste buds.

For a few days I had what looked like inflamed taste buds and at the same time a sore throat. The mouth problems have been going on about one month but i have not called a doctor or dentist.

My wife looked at it with a light and said that my taste buds around the tip of my tongue are red and irritated looking. Could this be caused my the EXTREME stress or high glucose? I also take a lot of meds, is that a possible cause? Or would you think more stress induced? Or does that sound like something more serious? Thanks again for your time and sorry for bugging you!

I have these red bumps on my tongue that look like inflamed taste buds. They are painful, mostly when I eat spicy or acidic foods. Also, some of them bleed when I brush my tongue, it is also very painful to brush my tongue. Why is this?

It started as 2 painfully swollen taste buds and quickly moved to a burning tongue. Icewater and mouthwash helped I also had something in the roof of my mouth. 7 days since my symptoms started, my mouth feels almost back to normal but I have what appear to be healing lesions on my tongue. Neither of us had any other symptoms aside from maybe being tired. From what I have looked at online, it sound like a primary adult oral herpes outbreak.

Agitated taste buds just develop ws a side effect of having millions of normal bacteria in the mouth. See if there's a swollen one.

ve had these abnormal spots at the back of my tongue in little clusters that look like inflamed taste buds. They are raised and they are the same color as the rest of my tongue. They are larger than the rest of the taste buds that are at the back of my tongue. Some of them are larger than others, but they do not affect the taste buds towards the center.They aren't itchy or smelly or anything.

Katester- I had sores in my mouth & tongue during tx. My Dr prescribed stalin, it worked. It would clear it up within a couple of days. Avoid eating mushrooms. they're a fungus & it will make it worse. Good luck!

This doesn't sound like any STD - maybe inflammed taste buds? If you remain concerned about the bumps, go see a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

Hey Tangg, The bumps you may be seeing in the back (posterior) part of the tongue may just be tongue papillae (taste buds). The ones which are in the back of the tongue are called circumvallate papillae. If you are still unsure and worried I would suggest contacting your dentist.

The tip of my tongue taste buds seem to be swollen, itches to the touch and hurts a little if I scrape my teeth on the tongue. Prior to that I used a tongue scraper multiple times to clean my tongue. It has been over 2 weeks now and there are no signs of healing. The tongue feels the same though the rest of the mouth is not that bad like it was before.

I think you are talking about the wrong bumps the person was describing, as they said they were after the V of taste buds, in the back bottom of the tongue near the epiglottis....

And now I have to flavor my water or just gulp it down without letting it sit on my taste buds.

Thanks for your reply. I understand oral is lower risk than other activities, but I have just been very paranoid. What's more, the next day my tongue started having a slight itching feeling on the tip where I can see some red taste buds. Three days later it's still there, but it's very faint, no pain, no cold sores just yet. I am now worried about herpes as this seems to be a possible indicator?

So i've had swollen taste buds before, but it will always be like one at a time. But a few days ago i noticed i have about four of them in a line on the front of my tongue. They were just slightly irritating, so i was looking at them in the mirror and i noticed that the back of my throat is pretty red and it looks like there are small bumps. Also it looks like my uvula is discolored (an almost yellowish spot). my throat doesnt really hurt at all just a slight irritation.

Hi, Since you have mentioned that the lesions on your tongue are quite painful, the only important lesion which I can think of is canker sores/aphthous ulcers. They commonly occur on the tongue or on the inside of the mouth. I don’t think there’s much to worry about as they usually resolve over a period of time and you need to seek an opinion from your health care practitioner only if they don’t seem to heal.

3 months ago i got my tongue pierced, 2 weeks later i had unprotected oral sex, and 3 days after i developed some strange sores on my tongue. it seems like my tongue is irritated in certain spots. it seems like it happens more when i eat certain foods. it lookes like my taste buds are swollen. im not sure if it has anything to do with an oral std or something else, please help.

Sunday morning I woke up to find two taste buds on the tip of my tongue had changed from red to completely white.
