Avatar m tn I am a 46 year old female and for the last couple of days I have been experiencing pain in my mid lower back. Other symptons include numbness in right arm when showering, pain at tip of tongue. What can this be? I have a strong suspicion these pains are attributed to anxiety.
Avatar f tn I found a new doctor and she got me down to 2 mg. While I was going through withdrawl, I had numbness in the T zone of my face. That was about 1 1/2 years ago. I have since switched doctors and am still having numbness in my T zone. I notice it on and off, but when I am actively doing something, I feel fine. I have tried to tell my doctor that it is caused by stress and I would like to increase my xanax by 1/2 mg. once or twice a day, but she just tells me to see my medical doctor.
712171 tn?1233921206 Hi, I am currently on Lithium (1000mg/day) for a recently diagnosed bipolar disorder, been taking Li for 4 months now and i have been getting a feeling round my lips and tongue and up my cheek sometimes like that of a dental anaesthetic wearing off. Now that particular side effect does not appear on the med sheet but is it due to Lithium? I mean has anyone else experienced that or is it just something else to add to my growing list of complaints?
Avatar f tn I am not convinced about the sinusitis and the tongue numbness association. And it is not only numbness that is the issue. You also have an altered taste. It seems to be a manifestation of the MS. The numbness will stay for some time and will go on its own. You have been through a lot. And I am sure you will pass this test also.

When this occurs I seem to have some type of head pain but more like a random shooting pain.
Avatar n tn This is accompanied by simultaneous ipsilateral (same side) numbness of the tongue. This numbness is caused by compression of the second cervical root (C2) in the atlantoaxial space. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor (both dentist and orthopedic specialist) and get yourself examined. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn properly, I have numbness and tingling in my half of my chin, cannot feel teeth 1-4, I had numbness in my tongue as well but just for few days. At least I had to sign paper that if they remove it I will not go to court to them, they said that nerve was damaged and it could heal or it could be permanent. I think it is called paresthesia. Anyway having head aches since that 6 weeks, on paracetamol all the time and it seems I have to have another 2 wisdom done because getting gums infections.

Avatar n tn Oral sex is low risk in general, even with much more prolonged contact or with intra-oral ejaculation (for the oral partner). With the fleeting contact you had, zero risk for practial purposes. As you were told on the community forum, there might be a theoretical risk for herpes, but probably in the same risk range as a lightning strike. If your tongue symptoms have anything to do with that event, it's probably just anxiety. Bottom line: no worries, no need for testing.
Avatar f tn My daughter had was was diagnosed as a migraine 5 days ago that was followed by some tongue numbness on the sides of her tongue. The head pain is gone now but the tongue numbness is still present 3 days later. Dr initially thought it was an alergic reaction to the migraine meds. They are out of the system now and her tongue is still numb. She has had 2 ct scans read by neurologists and they say migraine. Not sue what the cause of the tongue numbness is????
Avatar n tn I, too, had my wisdom removed and am now suffering from tongue numbness. My doctor says that it will probably take a couple of weeks for the feeling to return. It has only been one week and I am already higly frustrated. After reading the comments and doing research, I believe that my doctor is lying to me to make himself feel better for what has happended. As a teacher, the need for clear and quick articulation is essential.
Avatar m tn THIS NUMBNESS WAS ALWAYS VARIABLE. IT WAS NEVER THE SAME. IT ALWAYS CHANGED. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE NEXT TO NOTHING WHILE AN HOUR LATER I COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. At the moment, my right lip and left side of my tongue are seemingly permanently numb, while recently (probably two to three days ago), parts of my right leg have started to get numb randomly. If I stretch it during the night, by the morning the numbness is usually gone. The numbness comes when I'm lying down.

Avatar n tn Hi there. Numbness or tingling in the tongue also known as paresthesia, occur most commonly due to damage to the nervous system. Damage to the lingual nerve supplying the tongue as a complication of dental procedures like wisdom tooth extraction, implants or root canal procedures. Other conditions could be stroke. Sometimes these can involve the lips or jaw. Calcium and vitamin B complex deficiency needs to be addressed. Consult an oral surgeon for assessment of possibilities. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I just experienced blurred/spotted vision, followed by numbness in left hand, immediately followed by numbness on my lip and nose (left side), then was pounded with an awful headache. Miserable, but I think that could be it.
