Avatar m tn THIS NUMBNESS WAS ALWAYS VARIABLE. IT WAS NEVER THE SAME. IT ALWAYS CHANGED. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE NEXT TO NOTHING WHILE AN HOUR LATER I COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. At the moment, my right lip and left side of my tongue are seemingly permanently numb, while recently (probably two to three days ago), parts of my right leg have started to get numb randomly. If I stretch it during the night, by the morning the numbness is usually gone. The numbness comes when I'm lying down.

Avatar n tn I get all sorts of numbness. I get numbness in the morning, evening, afternoon. I get numbness at night. Earliest memory of it (years ago) was in my right leg. Later on, my left side. One period of time, I woke up with my left side paralyzed. It did go away after I used my right arm to move my left arm around, etc. I thought that was that, but then started having this every day for a couple of weeks.

16744917 tn?1451266839 Hello, everyone! ! I had my first surgery the 29th and I have some numbness of the tongue. I was wondering if any of you have experienced this and if it's normal. I am a newbie to this group and actually really like this support group! Made a few friends and it's great to get advice from people who have been through the same experiences.
Avatar f tn I do sometimes experience some burning on the right hand side of my face and tongue numbness. On occasions the tongue numbness is really bad but usually not long lasting but of late often my tongue on the underneath but just feels numb or like pressure or tight sensation. When this occurs I seem to have some type of head pain but more like a random shooting pain.
Avatar n tn This is accompanied by simultaneous ipsilateral (same side) numbness of the tongue. This numbness is caused by compression of the second cervical root (C2) in the atlantoaxial space. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor (both dentist and orthopedic specialist) and get yourself examined. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
382218 tn?1341181487 Has anyone had sudden numbness of the tongue and lips, and if so, what caused this? Last night this sensation seemed to come on quite suddenly, and I thought to myself, here we go with another relapse. But after a few hours it was gone, and has not reappeared today. There was nothing out of the ordinary regarding my diet and activity level yesterday, no sudden rise in body temp, no infection (to my knowledge), etc.
Avatar f tn properly, I have numbness and tingling in my half of my chin, cannot feel teeth 1-4, I had numbness in my tongue as well but just for few days. At least I had to sign paper that if they remove it I will not go to court to them, they said that nerve was damaged and it could heal or it could be permanent. I think it is called paresthesia. Anyway having head aches since that 6 weeks, on paracetamol all the time and it seems I have to have another 2 wisdom done because getting gums infections.
Avatar n tn Is it common to have tongue numbness and lips numbness with fibro? It also seems i every day i get a new symptom is this normal also?
Avatar f tn You may want to start flossing every day and scrap your tongue with a tongue scraper and see if the bad breath goes away. You could even rinse with a mouthwash; I like the Natural Dentist mouthwash but you have to get that at a healthfood store. When you eat certain foods does your tongue sting? Like with acidic foods, ie pineapple, tomatoes, etc...if so, classic geographic tongue. But, you really should see your dentist to make sure!!
Avatar f tn A few weeks ago I started having numbness on my first steps out of bed in the morning. It dissappears after a few steps completely in left but stays although less in the right foot. I also have numbess in my right arm with soreness in my shoulder and muscle twitching. The right side is the side I usually hold the kids on and heavy bags. I figured that this is probably nerve impingement from my neck, but when the feet started I wasn't sure what to think.
Avatar n tn I wake up every morning with numbness in my legs, arms, and hands.I am always tired.I had to make a trip to the emergency room two weeks ago.I woke, and was numb mostly in my left side.My left arm and leg.I was trembling, and could barely stand long enough to shower.I was given an EKG.The results were normal. My blood pressure was a little high, but came down while they were monitoring me.Can someone tell me what could be the problem?
Avatar f tn My daughter had was was diagnosed as a migraine 5 days ago that was followed by some tongue numbness on the sides of her tongue. The head pain is gone now but the tongue numbness is still present 3 days later. Dr initially thought it was an alergic reaction to the migraine meds. They are out of the system now and her tongue is still numb. She has had 2 ct scans read by neurologists and they say migraine. Not sue what the cause of the tongue numbness is????
Avatar n tn Day 1 - Loss of taste. Left side of tongue would taste food and drinks as if waxy and tasteless Day 2 - Eye would continue to twitch on and off through the day. Tongue still had loss of taste Day 3 - Taste still absent and more noticeable and even numb. Trouble with laughter, half of face (left) would not move right. Day 4 - Headache around temples and down behind left ear. A pressured feeling on same side of head. Cheek and mouth on left side wont move the same as the right.
Avatar f tn I am not convinced about the sinusitis and the tongue numbness association. And it is not only numbness that is the issue. You also have an altered taste. It seems to be a manifestation of the MS. The numbness will stay for some time and will go on its own. You have been through a lot. And I am sure you will pass this test also.
Avatar f tn Oh and only the tip goes to the left, I do not have any numbness on my tongue and I have full movement as well as I do not slur my words.
Avatar n tn 45am.  My skin started to crawl, my eyes were scratchy and red, the tip of my nose was numb, my lips and tongue started to feel huge.  Then the fun began.....I couldn't breathe as my chest was tight, however I obviously could still talk and breathe.  It felt like I was about to pass out and everything got bright and very far away.  My co-workers called 911 who came and said I was fine.  My husband picked me up shortly after and the symptoms started to come back.
Avatar n tn I have started traction, but after the first session it seemed to make my clumsy hands worse. More recently I have now been having left sided numbness in my lip and tongue..not complete numbness, but a burning, numbing feeling. My question is...first is traction usually effective for disc rupture, when it involves the cord. Second...can my numbness in the lip and tongue be caused by the cervical disc rupture?
Avatar n tn I, too, had my wisdom removed and am now suffering from tongue numbness. My doctor says that it will probably take a couple of weeks for the feeling to return. It has only been one week and I am already higly frustrated. After reading the comments and doing research, I believe that my doctor is lying to me to make himself feel better for what has happended. As a teacher, the need for clear and quick articulation is essential.
Avatar f tn My throat and sinuses are inflamed, at night I can only sleep on my back if o try laying on the side my nose completely closes and I can’t breathe. In the morning my tongue is cover with white (or grey) debris, it also accumulated through out the day but not as much as at night. This makes my breath horrible. I went to the doctor but he didn’t listen and didn’t pay any attention and gave me allergy pills which didn’t solve anything.
620048 tn?1358018235 Has your dentist ever looked at your tongue? I have a geographic tongue and also, I have had a very sore tongue due to low........ (Well, phooey!!!!!!! I can't remember the name of it) Pregnant women need it so they don't have a baby with spina bifida. I'm sorry, I just can't remember things. You might want to get it checked.

Avatar n tn Hi there. Numbness or tingling in the tongue also known as paresthesia, occur most commonly due to damage to the nervous system. Damage to the lingual nerve supplying the tongue as a complication of dental procedures like wisdom tooth extraction, implants or root canal procedures. Other conditions could be stroke. Sometimes these can involve the lips or jaw. Calcium and vitamin B complex deficiency needs to be addressed. Consult an oral surgeon for assessment of possibilities. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I just experienced blurred/spotted vision, followed by numbness in left hand, immediately followed by numbness on my lip and nose (left side), then was pounded with an awful headache. Miserable, but I think that could be it.
Avatar n tn After the dentist gave me an injection of novacaine, I have no feeling in the tip of my tongue and along the right side of my tongue. I am afraid I will never regain the sensation in my tongue again. Can you tell me if this is normal, and if so, how long it will take for the feeling to return? I'm thinking my dentist did something wrong to cause this, although he is adamant that he did not. I have more dental work that needs to be done, but am afraid to continue.
