Avatar n tn Is it common to have tongue numbness and lips numbness with fibro? It also seems i every day i get a new symptom is this normal also?
Avatar f tn This symptom of strange sensation on the tongue can be part of a number of conditions. It could be a demyelinating condition. Demyelination is when the protective myelin sheath of the neurons is damaged and removed. This could also be due to certain vitamin deficiencies. Specifically Vitamin B12 is implicated. Only an MRI will not be helpful. You should do routine blood investigations to start with. Consult a Neurologist if the sensation persists.
Avatar n tn Hi there. Numbness or tingling in the tongue also known as paresthesia, occur most commonly due to damage to the nervous system. Damage to the lingual nerve supplying the tongue as a complication of dental procedures like wisdom tooth extraction, implants or root canal procedures. Other conditions could be stroke. Sometimes these can involve the lips or jaw. Calcium and vitamin B complex deficiency needs to be addressed. Consult an oral surgeon for assessment of possibilities. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn THIS NUMBNESS WAS ALWAYS VARIABLE. IT WAS NEVER THE SAME. IT ALWAYS CHANGED. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE NEXT TO NOTHING WHILE AN HOUR LATER I COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. At the moment, my right lip and left side of my tongue are seemingly permanently numb, while recently (probably two to three days ago), parts of my right leg have started to get numb randomly. If I stretch it during the night, by the morning the numbness is usually gone. The numbness comes when I'm lying down.

Avatar f tn Hello, For the past few months I have been having some issues regarding my chin, under my tongue and even lips. Off and on throughout the day my chin will get a numbness sensation and will also be under my tongue and sometimes make my lips numb. My face will get flush and I become very hot. At times I thought that maybe I should eat something but this only seems to help the problem temporarily and then it comes back. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn m aware it is suggestive of a peripheral nerve issue eg nerve is inflamed, trapped, or injured by trauma but there are lots of medical conditions that have associated peripheral nerve issues eg diabetes, thyroid conditions, alcoholism, Lyme etc etc The list would have to be a lot smaller with the addition of facial and oral numbness, off the top of my head both could be caused by hyperventilation syndrome, medical side effects, allergy, there's probably a lot of other possible causes but t

920958 tn?1477577593 My Neurologist stated that because the second LP came back with 0-bands that MS was ruled out, however with medication some of the symptoms are better but now I have chronice joint pain in my fingers/hands, lower back, feet, knees and ankles. I also have numbness, tingling in my toes, legs, hands, lips and tongue. A very new symptom is rash and severe itching above my ankles covering about 4 to 5 inches on both legs. Could this be MS? If so, I need to get further evaluation Asap!

Avatar n tn This is accompanied by simultaneous ipsilateral (same side) numbness of the tongue. This numbness is caused by compression of the second cervical root (C2) in the atlantoaxial space. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor (both dentist and orthopedic specialist) and get yourself examined. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

At least I had to sign paper that if they remove it I will not go to court to them, they said that nerve was damaged and it could heal or it could be permanent. I think it is called paresthesia. Avatar n tn I, too, had my wisdom removed and am now suffering from tongue numbness. My doctor says that it will probably take a couple of weeks for the feeling to return. It has only been one week and I am already higly frustrated. After reading the comments and doing research, I believe that my doctor is lying to me to make himself feel better for what has happended. As a teacher, the need for clear and quick articulation is essential.

Avatar n tn I just experienced blurred/spotted vision, followed by numbness in left hand, immediately followed by numbness on my lip and nose (left side), then was pounded with an awful headache. Miserable, but I think that could be it.
Avatar n tn After the dentist gave me an injection of novacaine, I have no feeling in the tip of my tongue and along the right side of my tongue. I am afraid I will never regain the sensation in my tongue again. Can you tell me if this is normal, and if so, how long it will take for the feeling to return? I'm thinking my dentist did something wrong to cause this, although he is adamant that he did not. I have more dental work that needs to be done, but am afraid to continue.
