Avatar m tn A few days ago I had my ICD turned off. Have had it in place for four years and have hated every second. Am now looking into having the control unit removed. Does anyone know how difficult this is to have done. My Dr. does not want me to have it removed and even wants me to turn it back on. It has gone off once, bit my tongue almost off and broke a tooth. Enough already.
Avatar f tn And ever since it’s been on the inside of my mouth. I have nothing on my tongue just these weird lesions that grow on the inside of my cheeks and both lips. They bloom randomly so sometimes I have more and sometimes less and that’s like a one week period so I don’t go longer periods with less, just a few days. I do believe I have some acid reflux. My mouth is almost always sour tasting. I’m not sick much otherwise so my immune system seems fine.
3072999 tn?1356414732 Hi Tink, I am actually a medical coder for a hospital -the ICD-10 code would be G93.5. The ICD-9 code is 384.4. Since ICD-9 is not very specific they may have put a I after to show it is a Chiari Malformation type 1. In ICD-10 it is more specific - G93.5 states Chiari Malformation 1. So I am assuming since the ICD-9 code of 384.4 just states compression of brain they had to add a 1 so it was more specific for their notes.
Avatar m tn It grew and spread to the other side of the tongue. It is always painless, unless picked at. The lesions present as flattened white wrinkly patches, that can be rubber off with a paper towel exposing a red base underneath, that sometimes bleeds. I am quite certain it is not thrush, as my mother is a pediatric nurse practitioner and assures me it couldn't be this. I have not been on any antibiotics for years and don't have a problem with being sick in general.
Avatar m tn Yea...I mean, it's only my tongue that's the problem...some days my tongue looks dry...and the lesions seem to be going down..and then few days down the road they come back. The only reason I think the herpes is related to the lesions in my mouth is because I didn't have this problem before I need to go and have another test. Thanks everyone.
Avatar n tn I think it is similar to the laser sheaths used in the removal of chronically implanted pacemaker and ICD leads, only smaller. They remove the excess tissue causing the restenosis. As far as I know it is not widely used at most places or even at our institution.
Avatar f tn I have an ejection fraction rate of 30-35%. It has remained this for years. I am on coreg and altace. Should I have a ICD placed to be a backup in case something happens. I am becoming increasingly concerened since I had my 10 month old how long I will be around for him. Any opinions before I see my physician. I would like other feedback besides his.
Avatar m tn - I had thrush (never seen in my life like that) on my tongue and sore throat on the next morning all of a sudden (both are not painful) and its like metallic taste , but i can able to taste all food .. On 5 & 6th day :- i feel chilli mouth (burning) - thrush & sore throat is still present (not painful). and feeling sharp pains (comes and goes) at both ends and sides of back rib cage and left front side rib cage and pain in chest part also.
Avatar m tn The later ICDs are more sophisticated and do a better of of identifying V-tach correctly and attempt to pace me out of V-tach before shocking. In the course of replacing tone ICD, I got an infection and the ICD and leads had to be removed and placed on the right side. Through all of this, I continued to exercise, but gave up competitive racing. In the last couple years, the V-tach returned about 1 or 2 times per month.
Avatar f tn All the nerves from the brain go through a very small area called the brainstem and cranial nerves 9, 10, 11 and 12 start there as well (controlling the tongue, some neck muscles, your gag reflex and can impact speech ..., basically the lower parts of your head/neck). 60% of people start out with a spibnal cord syndrome (like tingling or weakness or the MS "hug").
Avatar m tn I have white tongue with lesions on it at back side ... I am cleaning my tongue 2 times a day but white spots are not going away..again seeing some rash on penis...also stomach upset (Gastric behavior) and headache... Now I am planning to have another test for HIV antibodies in 1st week of August from good lab (might be from Labcorp). I am very tensed... My questions are as below: 1. Do I have herpes or hiv or both? 2. What are chances of coming HIV positive 3.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected cunnilingus for about 2 minutes with a CSW 9 days ago. No sign of lesions on her and she said she had no problem..She did have lube on her vagina. Yesterday at 9am I noticed a singular puffiness in my bottom lip on the dry outer part of my mouth just before the line of mucous interior. Upon examination I saw that it had a white head and I popped it. Only a white pus column emerged- just like a pimple followed by very little clear fluid.
Avatar f tn The last time I had a mommo was about 9 months ago.. The said there were some clusters, but not to worry about them. Would this still be part of the Lymph Node?
Avatar m tn I forgot to mention that I have a geographic tongue, and I had it the time of kissing, basically a few lesions in the side and under my tongue. will this increase my risk. I always think of HIV anytime I kiss anyone, so usually I stop within a minute or two. I believe I developed HIV phobia, I cant study or concentrate very well, and am always searching the internet and reading about the topic Whats your advice?
2034625 tn?1392643292 Hi all... I had a good long chat with the local ms neuro yesterday. She said that they need 9 lesions to make a diagnosis. Isn't this true only in the case of no clinical attack and on the 2005 McDonald criteria? Reading the 2010 revised criteria it would seem that I don't need the LP to confirm what's already visible on other exam findings and that many less lesions are required to dx CDMS. In fact, the more I look into this the more interesting I find the whole thing.
Avatar f tn Anyone have input on this? My lesions are in brain and cervical spine is a mess with lesions. Arms n hands are awful. Have had the hugs as well. And the almighty "zapper", the elect current that runs through torso and hits you in the pelvic area. This disease is quite difficult to keep up with. Here then there then another area...
Avatar f tn 426.9 conduction disorder, unspecified what does that mean? dangerous?
