Avatar m tn Yea...I mean, it's only my tongue that's the problem...some days my tongue looks dry...and the lesions seem to be going down..and then few days down the road they come back. The only reason I think the herpes is related to the lesions in my mouth is because I didn't have this problem before I need to go and have another test. Thanks everyone.
Avatar m tn It grew and spread to the other side of the tongue. It is always painless, unless picked at. The lesions present as flattened white wrinkly patches, that can be rubber off with a paper towel exposing a red base underneath, that sometimes bleeds. I am quite certain it is not thrush, as my mother is a pediatric nurse practitioner and assures me it couldn't be this. I have not been on any antibiotics for years and don't have a problem with being sick in general.
Avatar m tn http://www.studydroid.com/imageCards/0b/87/card-11803657-front.jpg I was treated with Nystatin but it did not cure me. A week later, my tongue looked better, but still not cured. The night sweats went away after the third week but I began to experience fatigue and my CBC results began to show irregularities (please see chart): http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/265672 After six weeks, my tongue is still tingling and numb and ulcerated.
Avatar f tn My main concern and question is would geograohic tongue only appear on this one spot on the tongue? The lesions do change in size and shape and they are red in the center with the whitish yellow border. They do seem to grow every day, then disappear only to reappear the very next day on the same spot and location on his tongue. I am a little anxious that this could be something more worrisome like cancer. Is this normal behavior for gt to only pop up in one area of the tongue?
Avatar m tn hello, I feel sometimes my tongue is getting bigger, and it pushes my teeth so my tongue getting shape inside of my teeth, it gives pain and in afew days some mouth lesions occurs, what can I use for this ?
Avatar n tn ve seen them in the soft tissue under and around my tongue as well as at the back\top of my throat. Never have they been painful. They rarely last more than a day or two, and when they do go away, there is at times a residual raised area of tissue that sometimes takes a bit longer to clear. In some cases, I've had them disappear after eating (meaning they seem to be prone to breaking open and releasing whatever the fluid is inside them).
Avatar m tn So if I'm only get small lesions less than 1/2inch and around 2-3 on my tongue....what does that sound like to you?
Avatar f tn I also had burning/ just weird sensations in my back, thighs, toes, and face. I then got lesions on my tongue! I went to a walk in clinic, was told it was thrush. I went to my family doctor, he said it wasn't thrush and could be herpes. He gave me Acyclovir for a week. It didn't help. Oh, I also had discharge in my eyes and my eye doctor said my ducts were blocked up and it could be an allergic reaction.
338416 tn?1420045702 t reveal any spinal lesions, though my neurological exam says I have lesions on my spine (according to my neuro). He says they're just too small to see, and he doesn't care how infinitesimally small they are, they're still there. I wonder if they'll grow over time and become more visible? Great pics, Jen!
Avatar m tn ---My dry mouth came down a little ---And PAINFUL LYMPH NODES WERE NOT PRESENT ANYMORE ---After 2 weeks I noticed again 2 lesions (Smaller but 2 of them) this time ON THE SIDE OF MY TONGUE the same process after a few days they went away again no pain but this led me to believe it was more conclusive like HAIRY LEUKOPLAKIA because i have had total of 2 more lesions again on side of the tongue (total of 4 on side and only 1 on top of the tongue overall) although when I searched for Hairy leuk
Avatar f tn Oral thrush causes creamy white lesions, usually on your tongue or inner cheeks. The lesions can be painful and may bleed slightly when you scrape them. Sometimes oral thrush may spread to the roof of your mouth, your gums, tonsils or the back of your throat. Although oral thrush can affect anyone, it's more likely to occur in babies and people who wear dentures, use inhaled corticosteroids or have compromised immune systems.
Avatar n tn because I have no visible lesions or anything. However; my lips and tongue are burning...and I know that if u do have symptoms, then the blood test will be accurate more likely. Is the tongue and lips burning/stinging/tingling enough of a symptom for the results to be accurate?

Avatar m tn I am 76 years of age. I have had various episodes of lesions on my tongue for about 15 years, many doctors have said it was either cold sores or canker and prescribed zovirax. I have been living with and having both oral and natural sex for 5 years with one sex partner, she never had a problem, we no longer live together. Prior to that time I lived with several women...no problem. Since February I have been living with my latest friend (which should be the last)..
Avatar n tn 1)At the back of my tongue, on one side, there are 3-4 small growths (about where the tongue attaches to the back of the mouth), which I have to believe the dentist saw and must have dismissed as normal anatomy. 2) Also in the same general area, but more up where my tonsil use to be, still the same side, there also appears to be a growth, little more red. Any thougths? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Did the doctor say it could be burning tongue syndrome? Anyone can get mouth sores so you might be connecting some unrelated events to the tingling.
Avatar m tn [The top side of the tongue is covered in small protrusions called papillae. In a tongue affected by geographic tongue, there are red patches on the surface of the tongue bordered by grayish white. The papillae are missing from the reddish areas and overcrowded in the grayish white borders. Whitish/yellow discolouration of the tongue is frequently due to a yeast infection. The small patches may disappear and reappear in a short period of time (hours or days), and change in shape or size.
Avatar f tn prerty confident in the test other than the fact human error does occur, and I find it strange I have which appears to be the chancre on the back of my tongue and the truth symtpoms....
Avatar m tn Turns out to be geographic tongue, the recurring lesions are pink with yellowish to white borders and recur in different places on the the tongue. This is a harmless condition, but is very alarming to look at. Also there is no cure for this condition. I think I have been cursed.
Avatar n tn While I brushed my teeth and gently brushed my tongue I noticed lesions on my tongue when I spit, even with clear water, it has a hint of bright red (blood) in it. The lesions on my tongue, by this third day, are almost 1/2 deep as my tongue is thick. I thought perhaps I wasn't drinking enough water, and dehydration was the cause, but this does not not really appear to be the problem. I have a multitude of allergies, but if this is a result is it a new one.
Avatar f tn When I went for re evaluation on Wednesday Doctor noticed small lesions on my tongue. She sent me right to oral surgeon and told me to come back and see her on Monday march 28. Surgeon took X-ray and it looked fine. He told me he thought I had shingles and prescribed me prednisone for five days. In the next five days the pain in my face subsided and the sores on my tongue got worse.
Avatar m tn A day or two before Christmas I have casual sex with a female. I did use a condom but I'm not sure if it was on properly or all the way. The day after, I have really bad pain while swallowing (which only lasted two hours after waking up, then disappeared), swollen lymph nodes, a lot of mucous, stuffed nosed and a cough. The pain was more around the back of my mouth/tonsils and not my throat going down into my stomach.
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago my husband noticed some spots on the side and top of his tongue. They seemed to have gone away then the one on top came back just a few days later pretty much in the same spot. Yesterday another one poped up on the border of his tongue. It seemed to get big fast. It looks like a bare spot with a white border but it not as red as the top spot. Could this be geographical tongue or something more serious like tongue cancer? He did visit the dentist and they feel it's GT.
2118271 tn?1337463104 Ever since I finished a round of Flagyl (due to C. Diff) I have had this white "thrush" going on on the very back of my tongue. Most of it scrapes off when I brush or use a tongue scraper, but after scraping my tongue still has a white coating on it, especially in the back of my tongue. I should note that before the C. Diff episode I was on a number of antibiotics from frequently picking up infections from the day care I used to work at.
Avatar m tn Would Thrush lesions stain or change color after eating something with color, red cinnamon candy or a slurpee? Coffee also stains my tongue yellowish brown. Does this sound like Thrush? I didn't swallow the Nystatin for the first few days, would this affect the treatment? If I rub glycerin on my tongue it turns pink then turns back to the original color a few minutes later.
