I have recently discovered what seem to be a few small, almost tiny cyst like bumps under the skin in my lower lip on the inside of my mouth. I can feel them when I run my tongue or fingers over them. What are these? Should I be worried. I have used chewing tobacco for only about the past six months.

In doing more research, those cyst do not typically appear at the front of her tongue. I am worried about this because my father has cancer in the base of his tongue cussed by HPV. Does anybody have any insight as to what this can be? I never noticed it until I got sick and it causes pain every time I stick my tongue out or try to eat.

m pretty sure I read that these cough drops can cause the canker sores. My main issue is now I have this painful bump in the back of my throat/mouth/tongue. If you have been diagnosed with HSV 1 on the tongue (intraoral herpetic ulcers on tongue), is this something that will continue to reoccur throughout your life as a cold sore would on the lip? Is there anywhere that has info about this as well? Thanks!

It will heal in time without stitches. I've bitten my tongue through and my lip and have no scars (no stitches). Just be careful eating salty foods - that may sting a bit!!

I have had no further blisters but in August I had two small, red flat areas on my tongue and the inside of my lower lip gets bumpy on occasion but no sores. Nothing is ever painful or even tender. In addition, I have noticed on two occasions my tongue has gotten red and burns a little and my mouth and lips feel dry but don't appear dry. One more thing, I have noted nonraised red areas on my cheeks on a couple occasions. They show up for a couple weeks, then lighten up but do not disappear.
