20 years ago, I had a small lump removed from the underside of my tongue toward the back - NOT the front. I lost a bit of feeling in the tongue tip but nothing bad.
Fast forward twenty years, I wake one day to a very sore tongue. It eventually centers in the the tip of my tongue, right below where I had lost feeling. It feels like I have a bubble in there. There is no visible lump and you can not see much more than a raised section when I flex my tongue tip.
My seven year old has a similar growth on the front underside of her tongue. It started out small and looked to be what we as kids called a tast bud sore. Over the course of the past 4 weeks it has grown however from a pin tip size thing to the size of the end of a pen cap. It goes from white to black in color and at times has a reddish tinge in the center. She has complained at times that it hurts.
On the underside of my tongue, there are two very small 1/4" flaps of skin about halfway back that sort of hang down. I saw someone mention below that he had those, and he wondered if they were abnormal, so I guess not everyone has them, but... one of mine seems to be infected somehow. I don't even know how to describe what it is if you don't know what I mean, but it hurts like a canker sore, and it's red, and for as small as it is, it's packing a punch.
It was stiff and I noticed I had a small lump on the UNDERSIDE of the TIP of my tongue on the LEFT side only when I flexed my tongue. If I left it perfectly still, and limp, there was no lump. But, if I move it even slightly, it pops out. If you look at my tongue, it's not symmetrical at all. It started to impact my ability to speak clearly and the area gets very stiff when I talk a lot. To the point it feels like a Charlie horse. Hurts!
Ok. I have a lump on the underside of tongue, kind of like a fliud- filled sac, which is slowly increasing in size. About 1cm long at the moment, cylindrical.
Dentist said he's never seen anything like it.
Does anyone have ideas about what it is that I could suggest to him?
A blocked saliva gland would be nice to know, but are they on the underside of tongue?
I don't know to be honest, hoping it's not cancer or something. 20 year old non-smoker.

Hi, I've had for about 2-3 weeks white patches on the sides of my tongue, on top of it and also on the underside, they seem to appear and dissappear in almost the same place but not always with the same shape, they hardly hurt, except when I eat certain foods, and I get like a tingling or burning sensation, my question is: Could this be geographic tongue?
I also notice that they appear when I am under a lot of stress which I have been lately.
s a white mark with kind of a jagged edge at the top, and is underneath the tongue, like down towards underside of mouth, not on the tongue or lips itself. It's extremely painful to eat or move my tongue around. I'm not sure if it's a canker sore based on the locations and appearance.
Been using Orajel Gel to numb it past two days, but it doesn't do anything, just wears off and is still painful.
there are usually 2 noticeable veins that run down the underside of the tongue. on one of my veins at the tip of the vein, i noticed a small red bump/flap. it lay flat down but you could raise the flap up. It is not painful when i don't move my tongue or touch the bump/flap. but when i do touch of move it, it is very painful. i'm only 15 so do you think this is anything serious?

It went away and then a larger one formed on the back of the roof of my mouth and within a few days I had red spots or blotches all over the roof of my mouth. At the same time the underside of my tongue became sore (no visible sores, but the salivary glands seemed red). Also the floor of my mouth under my tongue seemed to hurt and was slightly swollen (at least felt like it). There was no pain in my lymphnodes, although the ones under my jaw seemed like they might be slightly swollen.
I have a lump that started under my tongue a couple of weeks ago. After about 5 days it was red and sore when I tried to eat. Someone told me to suck on lemon slices (don't laugh). I tried this and the next day it was already alot smaller. After another day of sucking on lemon slices it was almost completely gone. A week and a half later it has appreared again. Sucking on the lemon slices again, and it is growing alot smaller. What in the world can this be?
It lasted only one day. My mouth feels dry and my tongue - especially the underside - is coated, but my throat no longer hurts. No fever, no rash, no muscle aches. Some malaise.
Based on everything I've read, this does not sound like ARS. My symptoms are mild and not multiple. But I read on wikipedia that sometimes symptoms can be mild, so I'm starting to really worry. I'd appreciate any advice. I'm quite scared.
There was tongue involved briefly on the underside of my penis near the base. Also, his saliva was used as lubrication. I did ejaculate and urinated within five minutes of activity. My exposure to other fluids was limited to brief exposure to pre-ejaculate only on hands; no visible scratches or sores on my skin. The other person said that he has no health problems. What are my risks of exposure to an STD? If there is a risk, when should I be tested?

Woke up this morning with a small (less than centimeter in diameter) white, bump on the underside of my tongue- roughly in the centre about an inch back from the tip of my tongue. I am 21 male was a relavtively heavy drinker and a light smoker (apart from a few occasions where I smoked too much in one go i guess).
How did it turn out for you? What has happened to you since you discovered the bump?
