Tongue hurts tonsils

Common Questions and Answers about Tongue hurts tonsils

tongue

Avatar m tn I think the latter is connected to the cause for the chronic coughing, since I noticed my tongue clears within a few days after the coughing stops. Besides having white/red patches, my tongue also sometimes hurts and there were ulcers under my tongue and in my throat. The constant coughing causes trouble sleeping and malaise. Before all of this I was a healthy person, never had tonsillitis nor a geographic tongue nor a chronic cough.

Avatar n tn Today I noticed 3 fairly large bumps on the back of my tongue that dont hurt. they are on both sides by my tonsils. Just wondering what this could be!
Avatar m tn If using your dental device helps, this means that you have to address your tongue in addition to palate/tonsil surgery if you want good results. It's been shown that the UPPP procedure (palate and tonsil removal) works to cure sleep apnea in only 40% of the time. Most of these failures were because of untreated tongue issues. If you have any degree of nasal congestion, that should be addressed as well. As for the the pain involved with palate surgery, it is painful.

Avatar f tn Normally I go to my dentist every six months for a regular check up. I'm about midway now, and noticed a little bump inside the roof of my mouth. It's stuck to the bone in the middle of the roof of my mouth. I can't see what color it is, but it's covered with skin. It's quite minor, but when my tongue touches it, then it hurts in a minor way. I first noticed the sensitivity a few days ago. How long should I wait to see the dentist? Thank you. From wasp27.
Avatar n tn Since October 2017 I've had issues with my tonsils. I first noticed I had a foul taste in my mouth, one that no matter how many mints I ate or mint water I drank it was still overwhelmingly there, a nasty sore throat and white patches on my tonsils. I just left it, and didn't go to the doctor at first, yet while the white patches started to go, the tonsils got bigger. The taste buds on the back of my mouth became huge.
Avatar m tn I just read the symptoms can come back in the future. I have NOT had my tonsils taken out. Anyway since that day I have had to NON stop clear the phlegm out of my throat. I keep a cup next to my bed at night to spit in it's that bad. I have had oral sex with guys who are pretty trustworthy that they don't have any STDs but I am worrying now if it is possible that I could have something, or if I need my tonsils removed or what!
Avatar f tn I have a skin coloured bump that has been on the tongue for over a month.
1442846 tn?1284654177 I am a 19 year old female. The past couple of days, it hurts to swallow and on both sides of my neck, the glands are achy. I have no clue why my body is doing this but, i really hate it. And i kind of think it has something to do with me getting my tongue pierced. One day after i got this done, is when i started to feel this way. I would very much appreciate it if you can reply to me. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi I took my 4yr old Son to the doctors again yesterday with a fever, huge tonsils and breath that smelt. The doctore gave antibiotics for an infection to the tonsils and he thought the adenoids were also infected. This has been the third lot of antibiotics in the past three months for tonsil infections. Basically the doctor askd how attached he was to his tonsils because he was going to refer him to ENT at the hospital.
Avatar n tn The area in question is on the very back of tongue just as it starts to go down into the throat and is located on the very side of the tongue. If I stick out my tongue all the way and to the left, I can see what looks like foliate papillae (sp) that are enlarged and red. The opposite side of my tongue (where there is no pain) does not look the same, in that there is no swelling or redness.
Avatar m tn I have had pain in one specific spot (back of the left side of the throat, near the back of the tongue, it seems) on and off for about seven years. About five years ago, I was treated for hyperthyroidism using 6 mcu of radioactive iodine--a successful treatment which brought thyroid hormone levels into the normal range. At that time, I asked the doctor who treated me about this pain, and he said it was "nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Not necessarily oozing. Your tonsils are located posterior to your tongue, on either side of the throat. They generally look a little irregular, a little lumpy; about the size of a walnut.
Avatar f tn my throat has red bumps that has gotten better . i also have bumps on back of tongue with a white tongue. I can whipe the white stuff from my tounge but the white tongue comes back in the matter of minutes . wired thing about it is that ive barely felt any pain at all . im a heavy pot smoker that smoke tobaco wraps with the weed .
2073709 tn?1331643878 Hi, do you have any pus in your throat or tonsils now? do you have a white tongue that looks like cottage cheese? Do you have a fever? It may be a small cut from scraping too hard or something else. It depends on other symptoms. I agree with the other post don't scream. It is not good for your throat and vocal cords.
Avatar n tn Hi. When I was looking at the back of my throat I noticed what looked like white lines running down both the left and right sides of my throat. They're only visible when I stick my tongue out really far and my tonsils "move forward". They're located behind my tonsils and go under them. They're thin lines. They go down at least as far as where the top of the epiglottis can be seen. I don't have a fever and I don't feel bad or anything. I do have allergies.
Avatar n tn I had white spots on my tonsils which disappeared after about 4 or 5 days of being on the antibiotics, but then I lost 3 pills in the sink (when opening the bottle) and I got another white spot on the back of my mouth where my tongue meets my tonsils. I am very concerned, however, because my throat (beyond the tonsils) still looks extremely infected and there are craters on my tonsils.
1632125 tn?1299863788 If it's under your tongue its probably a clogged salivary gland, or even simply a swollen lymph node (there are tons in our mouth, not just tonsils).
Avatar n tn So i had strep thoat and finished taking my course of pencillin vk about a week ago, and my tonsils still havent gone down, and my lymphnodes are still swollen, admittedly i have been putting my finger in my throat to feel my tonsils and they are still pretty big, the white stuffs gone off them but they're still big. When can i expect them to go cause this is driving me nuts, also my tongue sometimes has a thin layer of whiteish colored stuff that brushes off, is this normal?
Avatar f tn 1), achy, chills, loss of appetite, runny nose, swollen tonsils, white spots of the tonsils, and grey-ish tongue (tried brushing my tongue for awhile and it doesn't change colors). I get strep often and I have antibiotics on hand but after I looked at my tonsils in the mirror with a flashlight it looks nothing like the strep I've had before.
Avatar m tn Went to out of hours dr following day who gave me 10 days penicillin V and told me to get blood test for glandular fever which I did and was negative, my full blood count showed only a slightly high eosinophil count (i have eczema which may explain this) However I started getting small blisterlike sores on soft palate and tonsils which were difficult to see but can be felt with tongue and are patchy red and feel like burning and make it difficult to swallow.
Avatar m tn jpg Large bumps on side of tongue in back on both sides (I believe are lingual tonsils? as I mentioned before my other tonsils are almost always enlarged) http://imageshack.us/a/img163/6995/wp000564w.
Avatar f tn now its a whole month and a half later and i noticed my swollen tonsils, red in the back of throat, bumps on back of tongue, dark blue bein under tongue with fluid filled looking bumps . come and go, throat isnt really in pain. im just scared. idk anymore. im constantly researching information and scaring myself. ive had two dreams of having hiv. so idk if thats a sign?
Avatar f tn It's been three weeks since I've had strep, and the red spots at the top of my mouth have not gone away even though I was given a stronger antibiotic. I still see faint "lines" of white on my tonsils. I've also noticed that there is a yellow color under the skin of my tonsils, and I know it's not tonsil stones. My tongue has white tastebuds on it, and some of the tastebuds have started to come off. I don't feel sick at all though, which confuses me.
Avatar f tn I also work in ENT, no its not related to coldsores or geographic tongue, I first got tonsil stones two years ago I could feel something on back of tongue when I stuck my tongue out I could see what looked like teeth! I was grossed out, wowed and also worried as naturally working in ENT I thought it looked like cancer, I showed the doc at work!
