Avatar f tn The right side of my tongue is numb. I feel some tingling and burning sensation at the tip of my tongue and bottom also. My tongue on the right side feels very sensitive to hot or spicy food. I also had pain running down my chin to the ear until 2 weeks ago if I had to do lot of speaking continuously. Now that pain seems to be better. But the tongue is still numb. The dentist has asked me to wait and take some B complex vitamins. Anyone who has recovered from this problem?
Avatar n tn The tip of my tongue keeps feeling numb as does the right handside of my bottom lip. Its not totally numb but maybe more tingly. Can you help me figure out what could be causing this?
Avatar f tn I have sensation so its not numb but when I touch it to the roof of my mouth it feels smooth. All of my food taste different ( like they are waxy) and if I don't drink water all day long my mouth gets dry. I don't mean a little dry - I mean like Ive been licking sand dry, so dry its hard for me to talk. Any thoughts out there?
Avatar f tn I had foot surgery a week ago. When I woke up the right side of my tongue was numb, like I had been to a dentist for a filling. Now, it’s just the tip of my tongue that’s effected. It feels like it does when you drink hot coffee & burn it. Why did this happen & how long before it feels normal again? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn I have not been able to taste since the day before she was born. And my tounge has a weird numb feeling but I feel pain and hot and cold. Now I cant smile on the left side, I also can't wink my left eye tho it closes if I blink. I don't have any head aches or pains outside of the aches and soreness from delivery. Should I go to ER or just call my doc in the a.m.?
Avatar f tn I have this weird thing the past cpl days, food has almost literally no taste. On top of that, my tongue feels as if it's numb. Not numb like novocaine feeling, just like I don't feel like I have much sensation on it, or my lips or actually the entire left side of my head.
Avatar m tn Have lingual nerve damage and right side of tongue is numb, burning/tingling...day 13 here...got given Tergretol today. Dentist said could help with burning but have to get levels right, have blood test, keep going in to be monitored re: levels and it has some nasty side effects,,,suicidal ideation and being sleepy which is out of the question with me at work. I don't sleep we'll but will get sleep tabs if need be over these side effects. So is it worth it taking this ?
Avatar f tn Later, I noticed that the tip of tongue was numb. I thought it would resolve itself but 4 days later, but 4 days later it remains numb (just the tip). Also, I recently started taking liquid vitamins and monavie red. Blood pressure is under control with intake of lisinopril. If the cause was from eating hot food, how long will the symptoms persist. It does not hurt, just numb. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn has anyone had tingling around the mouth, inside the bottom lips, it feels numb and as though i am drooling (dont think i am though) Its like having an injection at the dentist thats just wearing off, feels weird numb and a little bit sore jean
Avatar f tn My tongue for almost 2 months feels like it has been stuck in a 9 volt battery. This sensation goes from the tip to the middle of the tongue. It has like a metal feeling? It is really bothersome.

Avatar n tn I had the usually novocaine or whatever it is to numb the right side of my mouth. I never felt any pain from my tongue when the dentist did it like some people say they do, but i still do have a slight tingling sensation on the right side of my tongue. The tip of the tongue and the left side however is normal, and the numbing feeling of the right cheek and right part of the lip went the same day i had the dental work. I just wondered when my tongue will go back to normal?
Avatar f tn I don't know if this is neurological, GI or ENT or something completely different. I'm having a numb throat on the inside I can't tell hot or cold fluids or feel myself swallow. My tongue feels numb also but there are times it's like my mouth and throat are on fire or I'm catching a cold breeze in my mouth. I constantly have a dry mouth no matter how much water I drink. Has this happened to anyone else ever?
Avatar m tn My fingers and feet have been tingling, as has the side of my face. My tongue feels so weird, Not really numb, but almost like when you eat too many sour candies -- kind of raw on the tip. I feel so tired and upset. I feel dizzy and lightheaded, and I'm almost too afraid to see a doctor again.. I get migraines, and eight yrs ago then again 4 years ago I had complete workup for tingling in my body, mostly left sided, and doc said it was migraines.
1640131 tn?1301488894 Hi there. I read both your posts and your symptoms are suggestive of a chronic neurological disorder called multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic demyelinating neurological disorder where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Avatar n tn Of course my face is still swollen, which is to be expected, but my tongue on the left side is still numb. My tongue still feels like is did the day of surgery. Which is scary--how long should I expect this? When will the sensation return to normal? Please reply, getting worried.
Avatar m tn They say there is nothing there that is sharp left over from the filling. At times it feels like the side of my tongue is raw and other times it is a burning feeling. My cheek is also numb to a point. It is from the tip of my tongue to the back on only the one side. I feel like I have to leave my teeth apart as though I just had a procedure done.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been experiencing tongue numbness now for the last couple of weeks, the underneath of my tongue feels numb and tight, sometimes it tingles or is painful to move, it has not prevented me from speaking but it's not pleasant. It feels like the vein bit underneath is affected, but I have also experienced facial numbness and tingling.
Avatar m tn Hi steveo1010, I dont get a numb tongue but i do get face twitching and other numb spots on my face, with this episode i started out with the area surounding my left eye twitching occationally, the cheek tightening until its a rock then it goes numb and the tip of my nose goes tingly and numb like my thumb and fingers do, weird.
Avatar n tn Hi I just had a partial thyroidectomy (Right lobe romoved due to a nodule that they needed to biopsy) on April 16th.Ever since my surgery my left side of my tongue has been numb. I have been getting hot flashes and lightheadedness/dizzyness. I was wondering if this is normal or not. I called my Dr. and the nurse said that this has nothing to do with the surgery. It feels like I have cotton in my throat and I feel like I am choaking. It is worse when I lay down.
4419735 tn?1359725231 All day today my stomach has been numb to the touch. It feels so weird. and its loose, not tight like it has been, also smaller looking. It's weirding me out. I can feel my baby moving, he has the hiccups right now actually. Did this happen to anybody else??
Avatar f tn An average person can burn their tongue or have a reaction to salt n vinegar crisps but their tongue will heal by the next day. Someone with my condition- its feels like small cuts all over the tongue. Really burns, miserable and hurts. It feels really raw and when i first had this condition i lost eight pounds as i really couldn’t eat anything. I slowly started to introduce some foods back and now know my, limit so to speak. Three biscuits will be fine maybe- ten will rip my tongue to shreds!!
