I worked for a prosthodontist for 2 years and we had a patient that had Oral Lichen Planus with a complete upper denture and a lower partial. I am sorry for your situation. I think you should go see an oral surgeon they are very in tune to what is a concern as far as oral cancer and such things. They can probably look at an area and tell you what they think. Or they could always do a swab or even a small biopsy and send it off to be tested. What's the harm?

Usually they can be seen on the tongue, inside the cheeks, under the tongue, and in the back of the throat. I suggest you to get an examination done from your doctor and get a KOH examination of the scrapings done of these white coatings.

Hello, In the absence of any fungal infections and yeast infections,The symptoms are suggestive of lichen dermatosis(lichen simplex/lichen sclerosis/lichen planus)of vulva or psoriasis of vulva. Without clinical examination,pinpointing a diagnosis is tough.So I feel that you should get yur dermatologist and discuss these two possibilities with him as both present with color changes in vagina and intense itching.Treatment is diagnosis specific. the infectious disease doctor thought it was hpv, but the dermatologist thought it was lichen planus. is there any way to tell between the two. would hpv cause redness around the head? i was treated with desonide cream a while back for lichen planus, but it did not help. they said lichen planus can be caused by trauma to the area, but would it take a month or two after the incident for it to show up. i noticed symptoms about 6 weeks after the incident. any input or advice would be appreciated..
