Had burning feeling in tongue over decade, but some five years ago i noticed circular shapes forming on my tongue. They are not always there but sometime they appear, never one, sometimes smaller sometimes they go big. They are anywhere on tongue, but mostly dorsal or sides. The ones that appear on tongue tip can cause burning feeling for some time.
For a week now my tip of tongue is burning really bad. iT's like when you drink something too hot but I di not and it is getting worse. The taste buds at the tip are swollen. I tried warm water with salt, a mouth wash for inflammation, cold drinks but nothing helps. I've got an appointment for my doctor but only next week...

I was told that it was a no risk exposure as no Penetration was involved. But since then, I have had a very sensitive tongue with burning sensation with obvious cuts. I went and saw a doc after two weeks and he prescribed some medicine and he told me that it was either due to a hyper sensitive or a low immune case aroused by extreme stress. I didn't actually take the medicine and became better afterwards but still until now have some burning sesinnsation in my tongue.

None. STIs do not give burning mouth sensation.
On the other hand, anxiety and stress (often caused by fear of getting a STI) often cause burning mouth sensation.
If you only feel discomfort inside your mouth and other symptoms, I would suppose your sensation is transient and will subside soon after you stop thinking about it.
If the stings/burning sensation is acute onset, itis commonly associated with inflammation. Seeing a dentist or ent is advised.
The sides of my tongue has flat linear black patches. Since birth. But there is no pain or any problem.

ve been on Doxycycline for almost 6 weeks now and I did feel a little bit better for a while. However, I still have a couple of symptoms left -- one is this burning pain on my skin. I actually feel it on my tongue sometimes, too. It moves around; hard to explain but it feels almost like a freezer burn would feel. It comes & goes in intensity, and it moves around, but mostly affects my forearms and lower legs. It has not gotten any better since on treatment.
Okay...this is not even mildly humourous anymore. When my tongue first started burning, I thought it was freezer burn from eating ice cream. Obviously, now that weeks more have passed, that's not the case. I kid not..my tongue stings all the time and it is so painful. I hate the litocain. It seems worse to not feel your mouth at all! I have 5 more weeks to go. Is there any chance this tongue thing will go away?

Hello, I have had a mild burning sensation on my tongue now for approx 2 months. It doesn't affect my normal routine or affect my taste when I eat. It comes and goes and is starting to get annoying. I was at the doctors a week and a half ago for my yearly physical and she didn't seem real concerned. I am a 55 year old male. I have been stressed for the last few months and do have some allergies, could it be from all of this?
You symptoms of a burning tongue could be due to vitamin deficiency. It could also be due to trauma or thermal injuries. Sometimes it could be a fungal infection. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime you can try warm salt water gargles and betadine mouth washes. And take a balanced diet rich in plenty of fruits and vegetables.

I am almost certain that I currently have thrush. The coating comes off of my tongue whenever I brush it. My mouth and throat has been burning for three days. I feel nauseated.
