oh yeah dont have any white patches in mouth just coating on tongue so can you tell me what might be going on with my tongue?Do you think this is a sign of disease such as Hiv if not what are other possibilities.One more thing i have been guilty of overusing listerine mouthwash as a replacement for brushing teeth in the past.I was tesetd for diabetes but test came back negative.
Sorry to bother you again but i forgot to mention that i do have allergy and sinus problems would this have anyhing to do with white tongue coating? Also would like to know if it has anything to do with hiv? I have been browsing the forums and i see that some responses have to do with drinking alcohol or smoking.What about drinking beer? They also say it can come from garden variety cold or diet.
My tongue has a rough white coating all over it with raised red and white bumps in the middle towards the back of the tongue, also, my tongue burns once in a while, I assume what I have is oral thrush, it appears to be only on my tongue nowhere else in my mouth. I have had this for a long time now (at least 2+ years) and I cannot get rid of this problem at all.
I rushed to my ENT to find out what was wrong. I was afraid I had cancer of the tongue because i was a smoker. he looked at my tongue and told me that the lumps are normal. As you age, the lumps on your tongue become more prominent. he told me that they had always been there but were just smaller. He told me to stop looking at my tongue so much and making myself worry over every little thing. He kind of laughed at me.
I trust this doctor. I've been seeing him for over 20 years.
Hello, I have had a mild burning sensation on my tongue now for approx 2 months. It doesn't affect my normal routine or affect my taste when I eat. It comes and goes and is starting to get annoying. I was at the doctors a week and a half ago for my yearly physical and she didn't seem real concerned. I am a 55 year old male. I have been stressed for the last few months and do have some allergies, could it be from all of this?
Just to check in I went to the ENT on the 28th, she said is appears to be some form of tongue ulcer. She cauturized (sp) them with this acid ball thing, kinda hurt, and my tongue look as if i had cancer for the next three days. its almost as if she burned a layer of my tongue off. She then prescribed me a swish and spit. 3x a day.
Im almost done wiht my medicine. and its been great, Then tonight what do i see another one coming back. Damn just when i thought it was beat.
some positives were that cancer almost never grows on the top of tongue, and that it doesnt go away and come back. The negitive things I read was that I man had a small white growth that spread and became cancer and he had to have half his tongue removed. I m letting these fears consume my life and I am writing on here hoping to get some comfort. Has anyone ever had a pimple on the top of tongue that gets smaller and then pops up again. I am not even sure if it ever really goes away.
My researching of ventral under toungue comes up as possible cancer etc as it’s more than three weeks. Would tongue cancer start this way or could I just be an infection.

In november I started having this feeling like my tongue was burning also like something was pinching me inside my tongue it also felt as if tiny pieces of rocks were in my tongue but it was only the left side of my tongue the right side felt find I went back to the ENT the doctor prescribe (Pantoprazole) the doctor said maybe I was having some type of reflux problem but like the other medications I was still in pain and back at the beginning.
m a 31 year old male and about 5 months ago I noticed 2 bump on the side at the very back of my tongue which can only been seen if I stick it out really far, I went to the doctors because I also had a whiteish or yellow patch on the top of my tongue which they thought was due to gerd (acid reflux) they also mentioned mild thrush and put my on Medican for both (the nystatin did nothing for oral thrush) so they concluded it was acid reflux.

Twice in the past few days my labrador has stopped eating his dinner midway through and just stood there looking concerned and sticking his tongue out or looking like he is having issues with his tongue, After a few minutes of standing with him reassuring him he's ok he seems to go back to normal, and finishes his tea. I can't find any possible reasons for this on the net, never seen this before, haven't changed his food or anything and he's fine apart from this.

Last December my husband noticed some round spots on the left lateral border of his tongue. They seemed to go away then a few days later the spots came back. He saw his dentist which thought it was geographic tongue and also an ent. The ent didn't think it looked like geographic tongue And was leaning more towards lichen planus. The spots come and go, get larger, disappear and then reappear the next day in the same side of his tongue.
Don't know if your reading this stil but I went to ent he looked at it and said this little thing didnt seem to concerned about it and I explained i was worried about oral cancer he said he didn't think it was cancer cause of size and etc but did a biopsy dang that hurt he didn't freeze it he numbed it and used some huge clipper tong things and pulled it out then saturized it ouch i get results in a week still a little worried but he really didn't think it was cancer which helps
I have had these white rings near the back of my tongue and one on the tip of my tongue for a few months now. I can scrape them off with a tongue brush but they keep reappearing every morning. They don't change location, they're generally in the same place every time. I thought it might be thrush, but I have had two different doctors run fungal swabs and both came out negative for fungus.
Its not raised or anything but just white. My tongue is also white (towards the front) and greenish (towards the back) and kinda furry looking with my papillae on the tip of my tongue visible. Ive also been experiencing a tingling sensation on the side of my tongue, which goes away quickly. A couple of weeks ago I had sores on the sides of my tongue, 1 on 1 side which went away a day later and another on the other side which went away a day later.
in the menatime, i was wondering if you can address my tongue problems. is stress causing some chemical imbalance that is resulting in cut on my tongue or is this a sign of something serious? my worry is that its not healing up as quickly as i would have wanted/imagined. today, i bought some mouthwash and rinsed my mouth. strangely, even the cuts dint hurt. i dont have any pain in the cut but just a strange sensation which sometimes is OK and sometimes its worse.
