tongue

851294 tn?1239015716 Keeping it in the fridge firms it up even more and makes it easier to scoop some up on a tongue depressor and smear it onto his tongue. The best part about it is that honey really never goes bad, so even if you never use it for anything but dog emergencies, you'll probably never need to buy more than the one jar. If it crystalizes, just set the jar in some hot water until it can be stirred around and it goes right back to its proper consistency.
Avatar n tn In Bernese Mountain Dogs, a genetic familial susceptibility to the cancer has been observed. Other dogs that seem predisposed to histiocytic sarcoma include Flat-Coated Retrievers, Golden Retrievers and Rottweilers. Symptoms of canine histiocytic sarcoma include weight loss, low energy, limping and failure to eat. Chemotherapy has been mostly unsuccessful against this form of cancer, and most dogs succumb to the disease within months of diagnosis.
1994268 tn?1329466212 Ginger is correct. No matter what color he is, it is important to have these lumps diagnosed. Lumps nothwithstanding, excessive drinking in and of itself can be a sign of disease. It can signify diabetes or kidney failure so it's VERY important to get him to the vet to have some bloodwork done to get to the bottom of the excessive drinking. At this point, that would be more worrisome to me than the lumps, although they need to be looked into as well.
1529301 tn?1326506785 Enlarged lymph nodes above the collar bone (supraclavicular lymphadenopathy) are always considered to be abnormal. These generally suggest a cancer of or an infection in the region close by. Examples of these may include lung infection, lung cancer, lymphoma in the chest cavity, or breast cancer. Occasionally more distant cancers may seed these lymph nodes, such as genital cancers or colon cancer.
Avatar n tn My Golden Retriever has just recently started to stick her tongue out and in, she does not do in when she she is resting and she does not seem to be in any form of stress. She is normal in every other aspect. I just want to get an answer on why this has started to happen out of the blue?
Avatar f tn I went out front and he told me her tongue was white. She walked to the end of my truck and set down, I got the mail from the mail box and went and opened the door to my bedroom. She walked 2/3 rd of the way there and looked at me like, I can’t get there from here pa. So I went and held her hind 1/4s up and she walked in to my bedroom... she laid on the floor. I laid next to her, about 1/2 an hour later she started panting hard and again her tongue was white as were her gums.
Avatar f tn Also please know that, if she did have cancer, there is nothing you could have done to prevent it. That type of cancer in dogs cannot be prevented, and it cannot be cured. You did everything that could be done for her, and you did it lovingly. You have cause for sadness, but you have no cause for regret. I wish everyone took care of their dogs like you took care of Bunny.
Avatar f tn In doing more research, those cyst do not typically appear at the front of her tongue. I am worried about this because my father has cancer in the base of his tongue cussed by HPV. Does anybody have any insight as to what this can be? I never noticed it until I got sick and it causes pain every time I stick my tongue out or try to eat.

4733442 tn?1358513248 which is more likely in old dogs, not puppies. In old dogs that can also indicate cancer, in my experience with an older Golden Retriever. I think fat pockets are also more prevalent in large dogs.
5049711 tn?1364572195 Its been proven that dogs have a 'sixth sense' actually. All animals do. They know when your sick, pregnant, there's something wrong etc. A lot of women in high risk pregnancies (along with people with cancer/Alzheimer's etc) opt to get dogs and rely on their senses. If your animal isn't being overly protective and watchful of you then there is likely something wrong. You can Google this to learn more about it.
107366 tn?1305680375 Did you think it wasjust a weird slip of the tongue because the person in the present was NOTHING like the person in the past? DId you ever later come to find out that the present friend has some big thing like being an alcoholic or habitual liar or something like that other person had? It is true and if you think about it you can probably think of at least one or two people like that. Maybe part of that 90% is trying to tell you stuff like that.
Avatar n tn You will need dental cleanings every 3 months if you are going to dip. Please google tongue cancer if you want to stop using tobacco, because tobacco against your oral membranes causes tongue cancer more than anything else. You could lose half your face - I kid you not.
Avatar f tn I think for the lump in your throat you should get it checked out by your doctor even if you have to pay. I don't know what it is but if there is a lump it has to be looked at. It may be swollen lymph nodes due to some sort of infection on the tongue. You can lots of other infections. I would be honest with the doctor and tell them what you have been involved in with this guy that cheated and your concerns.
Avatar f tn Generally, tongue pain may occur in diabetic neuropathy, mouth ulcers, iron deficiency anemia, pernicious anemia, B-vitamin deficiencies (glossitis), leukoplakia (or oral cancer) and exposure to irritants such as tobacco/alcohol/hot foods/spices. Usual symptoms could be pain, swelling, and change in appearance of the tongue. Sometimes tongue movement problems also can cause pain and most often caused by nerve damage.
Avatar f tn My researching of ventral under toungue comes up as possible cancer etc as it’s more than three weeks. Would tongue cancer start this way or could I just be an infection.
Avatar f tn m a 31 year old male and about 5 months ago I noticed 2 bump on the side at the very back of my tongue which can only been seen if I stick it out really far, I went to the doctors because I also had a whiteish or yellow patch on the top of my tongue which they thought was due to gerd (acid reflux) they also mentioned mild thrush and put my on Medican for both (the nystatin did nothing for oral thrush) so they concluded it was acid reflux.
Avatar n tn Pet Diet plays a major role in influencing the effectiveness, pet response and ultimate outcome of chemotherapy in dogs and cats diagnosed with cancer. Cancer cells alter your pets body’s ability to metabolize dietary nutrients, including carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The effect of cancer on dog and cat glucose or "blood" sugar metabolism is most dramatic in pets.
1623930 tn?1299175877 After several days it became clear that our dog was going to lose a part of his tongue. His tongue actually split in front so he looked like he had a viper tongue as the healthy tissue separated from the dead (wish I'd taken a picture now but it was too traumatic at the time!). At that point our vet injected him with a spider poison that sped up the process of losing that part of his tongue (he told us they also use this venom for breast cancer treatment!).
691864 tn?1298919197 Today, I was driving with my dogs and my children noticed that our Irish Wolfhound had these ulcers on the very tip of his tongue. It's like a cluster of little white, water blisters about the size of 1/2 dime.It looks like a cold sore on his tongue. He is also drooling more than normal. These were not present earlier this week. He is eating, drinking and behaviorally appears normal. He does not appear lethargic.
