Common Questions and Answers about Tongue bumps reflux

tongue

Started with my wife - she got 3 painful bumps in tongue which later turned into little white spots. Fairly painful. She also complained of the roof of her mouth feeling like it was burning. Doc gave her antibiotics which after taking seemed to help. Then after about a week I got the same thing, only my were accompanied by swelling on left side of face (ear and just below), fever (100.1) and diarrhea for about a day. I have one bump on the tip, one underneath and one on the side.
The most important symptom that has totally left me was that awful burning tongue and acid reflux. Those two were sending me over the top. I think in order to get this uncontrol for you are two things: One, your TSH must get regulated to a normal state with your meds first. The best range to be in should be 1.0-1.5 maybe 2.0 tops. Then while you are trying to stabilize your thyroid TSH you also need to control your PH levels to about a 6.0.
Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! The cough and bumps at the back of the tongue can be due to gastric reflux causing the acid to come up. It could also be due to some food allergy or any other allergy. Hence if you have heart burn or pain in stomach area, the chances of GERD are more. Please discuss this with your PCP. You can also take a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole along with antacid gel and see if it helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
I had the white bumps and yellow tongue also and found out i had a yeast infection in my mouth. I'm not saying that you have the same thing but its something to possibly think about.
No doctors have been able to tell me what it could be, my ear nose throat specialist said it was most likely acid reflux disease, but I don't buy that. Now about three days ago I noticed my tongue is dry and bright orange, like a pumpkin, I think my tongue is detoxing things, it started when I started taking wellness formula and oregano oil. I have stopped the oregano oil since it must be killing off the natural flora. I don't know what to do.
All of a sudden both or our throats are bothering us and i have a sore tongue as well with red bumps on the back of my tongue. Any ideas? I've been tested for eveything because of a blood disorder i have and he just got tested but no results back yet.
then today I purchased an immuno boost product that you put in your drinks , all organic plant extracts, I also take zegerid for severe acid reflux and gastrparisis and when i woke this morning my mouth was dry and while I was cleaning my toungue, I looked underneath and it looked swollen so i took a qtip and touched it and these red lines with small bumps raied like where the vaines go , they are raied up and puffy, what is happening to me????
I have had these white rings near the back of my tongue and one on the tip of my tongue for a few months now. I can scrape them off with a tongue brush but they keep reappearing every morning. They don't change location, they're generally in the same place every time. I thought it might be thrush, but I have had two different doctors run fungal swabs and both came out negative for fungus.
A sore tongue, sleep problems, vaginal bumps are all part of having severe candida. You are probably also more tired than usual, have a shorter temper, a foggy head feeling, lack of libido, slight confusion, sometimes slight dizziness, anal itching. If the above are true then you need to go on a severe candida diet to eliminate the symptoms, doctors are very sceptical about candida and think it is only shown with thrush but I know this not to be true.
I used to always scrape my tongue when brushing my teeth but I can't do that anymore because it irritates the tiny little red bumps on my tongue. Sometimes my tongue is so sore, it hurts to drink water! Thank you for writing back :) I'm going to ask my new doctor about a prescription for diflucan.
So I know this isn't a specific topic to CM but a some of you mentioned that you got thrush on your tongue after the surgery. My tongue has been bothering me for weeks, it's been burning and I've felt like I had dry mouth and just this gross taste in my mouth. Last night, it just drove me nuts so I took a flashlight and looked in there...I can't tell for sure how white it is in the back but there were definitely blisters back there. Plus, my tongue looks swollen to me.
I used 1% hydrocortisone on my lips and that has made the bumps smaller but my tongue condition seems to be getting worse. What can it be? And who should I visit: doctor or dentist? Someone told me it could be an infection trying to get out of my body. Could that be true? Could it be a vitamin deficiency? What can it be related to? I'm an otherwise healthy 25 year old that eats right and exercises. Thanks for your help!!!
Just about 2 months ago I began developing strange allergic reactions. They have occurred on my feet, hands, back of knee, upper thigh, lip and now tongue. I have gone to the doctor before and they said it was contact dermatitis. I have not figured out what I'm allergic to yet and am still waiting for a call back from the allergy department. Last night, I woke up at about 3am with a swollen tongue. It really freaked me out.
i have white little bumps at the end of my tounge an it hurts really bad and also feel really sick idk what it is
Suggested I might try OTC allergy or even acid reflux meds. Imagine my relief. Well, I got no relief. I scheduled an appt for a physical. Three weeks later still having problems...GP says he sees nothing. I note that I do have a slightly enlarged but non-tender lymph node. Still biggest complaint (besides fear) is throat and minor ear pain...all left sided. He suggests more acid reducers.
Hi.. I had a real bad acid reflux attack the other night.. throat burned really bad, stomache near rib cage was bloated and hurt.... It seemed they both happened at the same time.. the throat and the stomache burning.. ok.. well.. I know have these blister like things on the back of my tongue and I was wondering if those blisters, swollen glands could be from that bad attack.
The swelling in my tongue went away however, now on the right side of my tongue I have white bumps that are somewhat painful and seem to be causing a chalky aspirin like taste in my mouth.
Please help me..... One moning in March I woke up with huge white bumps at the back of my tongue. They were so uncomfortable. I went to the doctor and he gave me a rinse, but it didnt work. Went back to the doctor and he gave me an antibiotic and it didnt work. Went to the clinic and they gave me a yellow rinse (said I had inflamed taste buds). It helped for a couple of days then back to normal.
I've had these little white bumps under my tongue, on the roof of my mouth towards the back and on the inside of my lower lip for about a year and a half. They do not hurt. They are uncomfortable as my mouth feels rough using my tongue. They just appeared one day. I have been going to many specialist in Vancouver over the past year and a half and have stumped them all so far.
It wasn't due to reflux. He said probably a virus. After that it went back to my normal cracked tongue. I have had the daily B6 shots....when I was pregnant...didn't help the tongue. Anybody have any other ideas???
I examined my throat in the mirror (something I've never really done before) and noticed that the back of my throat had various sized fleshy bumps (by fleshy I mean the same color as a healthy throat). Directly behind my uvula was a bump slightly larger than the others but similar in color. They are scattered over the back of my throat and clearly visible when I shine a light into my mouth and yawn. I also feel slighty sick...
I had bumps on my throat and back of my tongue with the white coating on the back of the tongue. My doctor said it was acid reflux. The acid reflux is caused by a hiatal hernia (you can look that up). So I take 2 anti acid pills a day. No problems since.
I'm a 31 year old male and about 5 months ago I noticed 2 bump on the side at the very back of my tongue which can only been seen if I stick it out really far, I went to the doctors because I also had a whiteish or yellow patch on the top of my tongue which they thought was due to gerd (acid reflux) they also mentioned mild thrush and put my on Medican for both (the nystatin did nothing for oral thrush) so they concluded it was acid reflux.
On the same day evening i got some small bumps on my tip of the tongue . On the next day i got white tongue with fever of 99degree .I went to general doctor and got treatment . I was prescribed some medicine and mouth wash for 1 week. My fever was there for 4days with same 99degree on my undergoing treatment. My tongue also didnt get better . After closely to 2 weeks my white tongue increased .I have sore throat from day 15 to till date. After three weeks i went to STD SPECIALIST .
Thanks for the comment, but I guess I wasn't clear on the area that I'm having the problem with. Its right in the middle of my tongue, my dentist told me that that the circumvallate papilla are further back, and showed me them. They were red and sort of raised but flat. These are more skinny, sharp, moveable, and seem to be increasing in number.
Red spots or bumps on your tongue could be caused by acid reflux. That's what I had. And I never have had heartburn, just acid reflux so it was difficult to figure out what it was causing the bumps. Maybe not what you've got going on, but figured I'd mention.
