Common Questions and Answers about Tongue bumps in back of tongue

tongue

Avatar n tn I have had bumps way back towards the end of the tongue, for over a month now. I am not sure how long before the first time I noticed them they have been there, maybe it was only a month or so when I felt them. There are three small clustered together on one side and only one on the other side of the tongue. They are of same color as the tongue (pale pink), don't hurt at all and only at time (maybe once a week) may feel as there is something on the tongue.
Avatar n tn At first I thought it was just a blister, but when I looked in the mirror this morning, I found multiple bumps of all different sizes covering the back of my tongue. I know for a fact that I have never had any bumps like this before. What are all the possibilitys of what this could be, where it came from, and how it could be taken care of?
Avatar f tn At the back of my tongue I found a lot of bumps at the back of my tongue. They are pink and raised and when I scratched at them I discovered they were attached to my tongue, in a mushroom sort of fashion. I don't feel sick and the bumps don't hurt at all. I only noticed them after I stuck my tongue out after eating a slushie, but I eat slushies (and candy) a lot and this has never happened before.
Avatar f tn I noticed a cluster of bumps on the very back of my tongue. I only see them when i stick my tongue out very far. They are behind the "v" of papillae and just above the epiglottis (the thing that closes over the trachea. i dont know if thats the right term). Any ways, they dont hurt at all, but i just noticed them recently.... Anyone know what these are?

I have never had this and I know you say not to worry ,but that is hard to do.If their is anything I can do to make it go away I would be happy to get any tips...!! 1855970 tn?1325823613 The past few days I've noticed bumps on the back of my tongue... they were just visible if I stuck my tongue out far and didnt hurt or anything. But today, one of the bumps toward the left side just feels annoying. Like when a popcorn kernel gets stuck on the back of your tongue... thats what it feels like. I tried using a toothbrush to kind of 'brush' it away, and it didnt work.
Avatar n tn I have uncomfortable bumps on the sides of my tongue towards the back. It's kind of hard to eat becuase they hurt. Would acidic food do this? I've had them for about 2 days. Is there anything that would make them go away or feel better? salt water or mouthwash?
Avatar f tn Now I notice few small red bumps back of my tongue. is this normal and has one experience the same thing. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn m pretty sure I read that these cough drops can cause the canker sores. My main issue is now I have this painful bump in the back of my throat/mouth/tongue. I've had this pain for about a week now and seems to be getting worse. I've googled what it could be but with no luck. I can't see this bump but i can feel it and it seems like its where the tongue connects to the back side of my mouth near the tonsil on the right side of my mouth.
Avatar n tn And now I looked in the mirror and saw some white in the back of my tongue. Its a small thin layer of white in the back of my tongue with fissures going down the center. The fissures aren't very deep. I am worried about this. I don't want it to be anything serious. I am scared to try brushing it off. The picture isn't my tongue but it is very similar to it. Except the white isn't in the front. It's in the back on the top of my tongue. Its minor though. Please help!!
Avatar n tn I have a patch of raised white bumps in the back center of my tongue that appeared about three days ago and are still there. They do not hurt unless I pick at them but they are raised so they are irritating. I have been rinsing with a medical oral wash but it has not seemed to help. I burnt my tongue several days ago but I have burnt it before and this has never happen. Do you have any idea what this might be?
214105 tn?1265935159 I noticed that I was getting spots on the tongue where the papillae (small bumps on the tongue) were missing resulting in smooth patches on the tongue. I went to the doctor and he seemed more interested in explaining why it was called geographic tongue - because the patches look like countries.
Avatar m tn ve just noticed that there are bumps near the back of my tongue (and seemingly moving up towards the front) that look like they might be sores. There is absolutely no pain in my mouth from this and no sore throat (therefore doesn't seem like thrush). I also think my tongue might be swollen because there are teeth marks on the sides of it. Below is a picture for reference, thanks for ANY help!!
Avatar n tn About 3 days ago, I found a canker sore on my lip. Yesterday bumps appeared on the back of my tongue. They do not hurt, but are quite annoying. All i want to do is swallow them. I heard that the bumps on the back of the tongue are a part of normally anatomy, but i can't help but think that they are inflamed or infected. Is there anything I can do at home? If they don't go down in a couple of days, I plan on seeing a dentist. Heres my background: I'm a college student.
Avatar f tn The bumps on my tongue have a different pain than the spots on the roof of my mouth. And they aren’t any risen or anything like the ones on my tongue were bumps but the spots on the roof of my mouth are kinda just like there. I’ve only had stuff on the tip and sides of my tongue then on the roof of my mouth, nothing on my gums, inside of my cheeks, or lips.
Avatar f tn I also have some on the back sides of my tongue, one cluster on each side, right where the tongue meets the back molars. There's a large patch on the back of my tongue, and I can feel a patch in my throat when I cough. Four days ago, I visited the doctor about my still-sore throat. He said I had herpangina, a non-STD virus. However, everything I've read about herpangina says that it clears up within a week max.
Avatar m tn OK, I have kissed and performed oral sex on about 3 women in the past 2 months. I now have a bunch of small bumps on my lingual frenulum (the part under my tongue where the spit glands are). They look like a bunch of spider eyes. They are painless and most of them are the color of my mouth. They were a bit red yesterday, but not firetruck red. They haven't secreted anything, yet. I'm not sure if they ever will secrete anything.
Avatar m tn Originally I posted this in an STD forum, but I believe (hope) it may be better suited here. A month ago I brushed my tongue for the 1st time. A day or so later I noticed what looked like some bumps in the middle of my tongue. Concerned, I've bought a tounge brush and have been brushing once to five times a week. Now it seems that the bumps look more elongated, are harder, and theres more of them. They are towards the back of my tongue.
Avatar n tn I felt a presence on the back back part of my tongue where the tongue curls down to the throat beginning tract. I don't feel any pain or sores. I just feel something there alittle. I reached with my fingers down in my mouth towards the area I just mentioned and felt small bumps there, what does this mean? Is it normal? I was giving my partner oral and about 3 days ago I started feeling this thing in the back of my tongue where it curls down to my throat. Can anyone help me?
Avatar f tn So, I occasionally get these weird flesh colored bumps on the sides of my tongue but not on my tongue just the back gum area, and lately I feel like I constantly have a hair in my mouth but it’s cause I have this bump near my uvula and idk what it is! It’s the same type of bump that’s on the sides of my tongue. My doctor didn’t even look at it and just prescribed me antibiotics, and I got tested for Covid and was negative!
Avatar f tn Hi I'm a 29 yr. Old female I noticed red bumbs at the back of my throat. I know HIV is one cause. But I have been tested from June - Dec. I have had to inconclusive results rich and retested where they were sent to the hospital both came back negative. During that time I noticed the bumps. The last test I took was 6mos. After I had a one night stand with a woman. Are there other causes for these bumps? They do not hurt but when I stick my tongue all the way out like when the Doc.
Avatar f tn In the last few years I have had tiny white bumps appear on the tip of my tongue and my tongue appears swollen. In the past I have taken benadryl and that has taken care of it. They seem to come more often now. I keep up on my teeth cleanings and fillings if needed. I also suffer now from hypothyroidism due to the irradation of my thyroid due to hyperthyroidism. Could that be the cause? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn I would like to know what can cause small hard painful bumps on the back of the tongue?
Avatar f tn White bumps on the interior of the lips are completely normal! White tongue is from diet. Stay hydrated. It sounds like an overgrowth in your natural flora. Could be from sugary drinks or a diet high in starches (yeast). These two things are not hsv.
