Common Questions and Answers about Tongue bumps cancer

tongue

I just tonight found several bumps that are aligned up on the back of my tongue. I have had a scratchy throat, and have been suffering from allergies lately, but have never noticed having these on my tongue in the past. Also, I couldn't find anything like it online. I'm wondering what it would or could be from, and if I should get it looked at?
i have had tiny painless flesh colored bumps under my tongue for as long as i can remember. i was wondering what they were or if they were even normal so ive been searching online and i havent found anything but oral cancer and hpv. does everyone have these bumps or is there something wrong with me?
A few days ago I noticed severral bumps on my tongue spreading all the way back through my throat. They are slightly elevated and soft. It does not hurt to eat, however, the appearance is awful and I want them to disappear. I went to see the nurse practitioner and she said she's never seen anything like it before and that it might go away on its own. I didnt find this information overlly helpful, and was wondering if anyone had any idea what it could be.
This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
there are STD's that cause bumps on the tongue and what not, HIV is one not trying to say thats what you have, i also had the bumps on my tongue and had the HIV test but nothing showed up, the doctor said it was the toothpaste i was using and told me to get some certain kins which i didn't listen because most times i don't think doctors have any clue what's going on, but if you really want to know i can get that info for you.....
I have a few small bumps on the tip of my tongue and some larger bumps on the back. My tongue is hurting and burning. What might this be?

I have these painful tongue bumps for over a month. They have been coming and going all over the front end of my tongue. They are a constant pain nothing I do seems to help. I've been to the doctor and all she said was that it could just "be a badly compounded viral infection." I have attached a picture of what my tongue looks like with the bumps and sores. I have looked all over the internet for solutions for what the condition could be.
They start out as very small white dots on both sides of my tongue and gradually erupt into large sores with many swollen little red bumps on the edges and a grayish color in the center. My doctor is chalking it up to stress. What's odd is that they will disappear for a short while and then come back in the exact same two spots again and again. Is it possible I'm biting my tongue in my sleep all of a sudden and that's what is causing these? Any other suggestions?
Nothing really worked for me and I had the tongue bumps pretty bad. The great piece of news is not even two weeks after my last interferon shot it just magically up and went away! So have hope.........you will make it even though it's a major pain in the neck (haha right) My thyroid went about week 24 or so.......first went extremely hyper then extremely hypo (this is a very common thing to happen).
-White tongue -Bumps in the tongue (front part) I have been diagnosed with oral thrush :( Have you had an oral swab to confirm if you have oral thrush or not?
The couging has subsided, but there's still phelm in my throat. Yesterday I noticed that my tongue was coated in an yellowy/orange color!! I scraped it, and brushed it, but to no avail. Is this a common ailment? Anybody??? Thanks.
is it possible for me to develop this cancer in 2 years? the red bumps at the back of my tongue are little bit bigger together with white tongue.
I awoke the next morning with painless white bumps toward the back of my tongue. I dont think I have herpes on my penis b/c it never really stings although the top of my foreskin gets irritating sometimes and it just takes a quick fix to calm it down (this has been going on for a long time but these bumps are new). I would like to get someone's opinion on this please. could it be thrush? cancer? herpes? HIV? HPV? Please I am not one to have this stuff happen.

So, I went to the restroom to check it out and I see white bumps on the back of my tongue. Now, I know there are normal bumps on the tongue and they are bigger in the rear, but these are abnormal. Two are pretty large, about the size of pencil erasers and the others are just scattered and smaller. They are only in the rear. I'm thinking this is all related and hoping it is an infection that will just pass, but I need some advice.
I did start noticing a large mass below my tongue on the right side, when I stick my tongue out it sort of lifts over my teeth and it's easy to see. Maybe related? I had a cancer screening about 6 months ago and it was fine, no cancer. It was more of a general screening though, also, would cancer suddenly appear in a 6 month period like this? I was always under the impression that it's a slow thing that happens over time.
Have small bump on inside of the left side of my tongue....is a tiny bit painful. Feels like something growing inside the tongue, is just a small "thing" and there's no color changes can't see anything. I've lived a very healthy life being vegan, practice healthy living, rest, fresh air, no stress. Should this be checked out any further than have already have.... or am I just paranoid?
My question is could this all be because of acid reflux or could it be oral cancer or is they bumps normal for that area? I'm going to the doctors again soon to get pills for gerd, I also just got tested for life insurance and my blood and urine test came back clear and they even have my a lower rate. It really does not look like anything I have seen on the Internet for oral cancer but I'm still worried.
RInse with antibacterial gargle and avoid further manipulation. There are many things that can cause tongue bumps to form, including: trauma, smoking, canker sores, enlarged papillae, cancer and certain medical conditions including diabetes and anemia. If it comes back or if other symptoms occur, it would be best to have this evaluated further for proper diagnosis and management. It is important to determine the underlying cause and to rule out other causes. Take care and regards.
I have noticed bumps on my tongue. There are only one or two at a time. They are like little clear sacs of fluid. They are very small and I have tried popping them. They come back however. It is quite annoying.
Its hard for me to not be paranoid being that I have lost three family members to cancer, two from breast cancer and one from colon cancer. I thought maybe it could be cancer with losing all the weight, but then i calmed down and though about it and realized that I didn't eat anything, drink anything, or swallow my own mucous for five days which caused me to lose fifteen pounds. I feel a lot better, and gained weight back, and have been very active.
I've had similar symptoms of pain in the tip of my tongue for several months. While I have NO white bumps, and have suffered no burns, the tip of my tongue has a different appearance from the rest of it- it appears darkened, redder, visibly different. For about a month the sensitivity went away and my tongue was normal. Just recently the pain has returned. I can't blame it on any specific foods, drinks, toothpaste or mouthwash, nor can I explain its temporary absence and re-emergence.
I had only a little bit of white coating early in tx, but have always gotten a very sore tongue, with horribly painful bumps, from the interferon/ribavirin aspect of tx. Try to drink even more water, and carry water with you at all times. My dentist advised using Biotene mouthwash and it helps a LOT. In some stores they also carry Biotene chewing gum, which is great to have with you when you are away from home (but be sure to carry your water bottle too). Good luck!
I have 2 prominent bumps on the side of my tongue. Even when I gargle with listerine it burns my tongue and certain parts of my mouth. When I feel around my neck I can feel a lump inside my throat it feels like a little ball. I felt it a month ago and I noticed it becoming bigger. I understand now that it takes a few years to develop the cancerous part of hpv but do you think I could have hpv on my tongue and in my throat?
I used 1% hydrocortisone on my lips and that has made the bumps smaller but my tongue condition seems to be getting worse. What can it be? And who should I visit: doctor or dentist? Someone told me it could be an infection trying to get out of my body. Could that be true? Could it be a vitamin deficiency? What can it be related to? I'm an otherwise healthy 25 year old that eats right and exercises. Thanks for your help!!!
Immune disorders can also cause tongue bumps. Mouth cancer can cause a lump or area of thickened skin on the side of your tongue. A clinical examination is must. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Seek second opinion if the symptoms are severe or persistent. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Just about 2 months ago I began developing strange allergic reactions. They have occurred on my feet, hands, back of knee, upper thigh, lip and now tongue. I have gone to the doctor before and they said it was contact dermatitis. I have not figured out what I'm allergic to yet and am still waiting for a call back from the allergy department. Last night, I woke up at about 3am with a swollen tongue. It really freaked me out.
Also I have the ruff area in the back of my tongue and it comes and goes depending on the acid flow. They look like little bumps in the back of my tongue and it fills ruff when I swallow. What are the symptoms of throat cancer? What do I have to look for?
