I had oral thrush and I never had just bumps on my tongue. I also had a yellowing coating on my tongue which got quite painful. If you go to the doctors and get a salvia test to check whether is then it could put your mind at rest and show whether you definitely have it or not.

My tongue at the back has the c papillae but it looks like an ulceration over them - not all white but a flat pink coloured bump with like whitish lines across it. Both sides of tongue bumps are symmetrical. The bumps at very back of tongue almost going down throat have ballooned in size. It isn't uncomfortable to eat or swallow yet. A little of a sore throat and lymph node on right been inflamed a little. Also towards where the bumps are is very white like thrush.

I have had bumps way back towards the end of the tongue, for over a month now. I am not sure how long before the first time I noticed them they have been there, maybe it was only a month or so when I felt them. There are three small clustered together on one side and only one on the other side of the tongue. They are of same color as the tongue (pale pink), don't hurt at all and only at time (maybe once a week) may feel as there is something on the tongue.

Are there other causes for these bumps? They do not hurt but when I stick my tongue all the way out like when the Doc. Checks your throat I can see them.

At the back of my tongue I found a lot of bumps at the back of my tongue. They are pink and raised and when I scratched at them I discovered they were attached to my tongue, in a mushroom sort of fashion. I don't feel sick and the bumps don't hurt at all. On the left side, midway up, theres a red, and somewhat dry spot of what seems to be irritated skin and I can see the blood vessels under that spot as well. I assumed it was probably due to some of the friction in the sex as she is a somewhat petite girl. Another one of my concerns is under my tongue. At the base towards the back of my tongue (close to my back molar) is a bump, so immediately I thought some kind of std.

What is painful, however, are the sides of my tongue (foliate papillae?). Both sides are covered in white, translucent bumps that are easily irritated by common activities like eating anything that isn't yogurt. To make matters worse, there seem to be gill-like ridges (with some appearing to be like an open wound) within the bump clusters. That makes me thing these ridges are the "birthplace" of these bumps. Now, I believe I've had this problem since this past December.

Along with the bumps, I will get a bit of a scratchy throat. It does not hurt but like the little bumps, it just feels a bit irritating. Normally, the bumps will flare up and the throat will feel itchy for a few days to a week or so and then they will calm down only to reappear a week or two later. I did go see a few doctors at walk in clinics and they all said it's nothing to worry about but to be honest, I've been feeling really scared as of late because of this.
