Common Questions and Answers about Toddler sleep problems crying

sleep

Avatar f tn Its been a crazy day! I'm 39 weeks 2 days. I had contractions ALL night which is pretty typical for me except last night they were a lot more intense. Then as I'm trying to get my 2 yr old out the door for daycare & work he throws up. Spend the next hour cleaning vomit & finding sub's for work. Then after another very sad hour we finally settle down. Lunchtime comes & my toddler asks for crackers & cheese.
349463 tn?1333571576 The question is where should the baby sleep?? My son and toddler both have their own room. We have an extra smaller room off the family room that we use as an office. My son also stays at his dad's house about 4 nights every other week. Right now he has the biggest room. There is room for a crib in his room, the office (if we move out the office furniture) or we have room in my daughter's room. Another thing to consider is that my husband works from home and needs his office.
Avatar f tn 30pm and she falls asleep (no tears/no crying). After falling to sleep she then tends to wake-up around 11pm and the tantrums range from 30 minutes to 4 hours. During the tantrum she’s screaming (at the top of her lungs), crying and at times she’ll run around her room. While having the tantrum she also tends to make demands asking that I give her certain stuffed animals/toys, demands water, demands this/that and then goes back to screaming/crying.
Avatar f tn Now, at bedtime we walk hand in hand and he climbs in his toddler bed and goes right to sleep. After we mastered nights we moved to nap time. If you do decide to do it stick to your guns because if you give in it will be ten times harder. Good luck!
Avatar f tn With my first, I never had problems with her wanting to sleep with me or with her not wanting to sleep on her bed. Now with my 18-month old, that's a different story. She was always good at sleeping in her crib, but now that I changed her to her "big girl" bed in a seperate room she runs to my bed and wants to sleep in my bed with me and my hubby.
Avatar f tn I didn't get sleep last night and it's making me very emotional today and cry about all my problems and I can't control it. My 3 month old never cries and today she is crying with me. Like every time a new tear comes she starts crying. Somehow she's sensing my sadness and it's making me feel horrible I'd what to do.
Avatar f tn My DD has always been a good sleeper & has always preferred putting herself to sleep without anyone around, all of a sudden a week ago she is refusing to go to sleep, crying, hysterical & now refusing to stay in her room at all, continuously coming out. It got so bad night 2 that after 4 hours of this it was mid., & i told her that I would lay w/ her but it would have to be in her new room we were preparing for her bc there is a twin bed in there, and I am 7 mo preg.
Avatar n tn Is he sick, is his crying from pain or just from not wanting to go to sleep. What time are giving nap and bedtime. Try not givng him a nap.
11248659 tn?1469915817 I have a toddler myself as well. She goes to bed at 8:00 pm and sleeps until 8:00 am.
Avatar f tn I was crying and laughing all day yesterday. Went from pissed to excited in mere seconds! Ugh anybody else feeling like this?
Avatar f tn I am 33 weeks tomorrow and so far have had a relatively smooth pregnancy, last few weeks I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping as my hips are really sore (pgp flaring up) and I can't get comfortable, to top it off my 19 month old has decided to be the devil incarnate at bed time lately and is frequently waking throughout the night! Is it possible to survive on average 2-3 hours sleep a night?
Avatar f tn My baby will be 6 weeks old on Saturday. Her sleeping & nap times used to be easy. The last couple of days though she hasnt slept much. She'll sleep if either my husband or myself hold her but starts crying when we put her down. We've tried her bed, our bed, her swing & rocker but nothing works. My oldest daughter wasnt this way so i am losing my marbles & dont know what to do.
557490 tn?1326793583 Babies process what they have learned throughout the day during sleep. They also grow in their sleep. Sleep is VERY important for the ENTIRE family. If the doctor is not compassionate about your situation, look for another one.
Avatar f tn A dramatic terrible 2 toddler, I have my moments of being super emotional and crying at stupid things, but more so the lack if sleep, my body aches, I feel miserable, my pubic bone hurts like heck! and I am so uncomfortable. My belly feels like she's trying to rip it open. But there is end in site, and this doesn't last forever. Thank God! I remember saying no more about this time with my daughter.
Avatar m tn Now however when he wakes up he finds it very hard to go back to sleep even in our bed after trying for 30-45 mins he gives up and starts crying. We have a small apartment and his crib is in the same room as ours. I have tried sleep training him a few times but he just howls endlessly and feels like he gets really scared rather than soothing himself to sleep. My pediatrician doesnt seem to be given any meaningful ideas and I would really appreciate help.
Avatar n tn For about a month and a half now my 22 month old daughter wakes up during the night about every hour or so. She wakes up crying and thrashing her body about. And I it takes me about 30 min each time to get her calm again. This happens every night. Pediatrician mentioned night terrors but that's been rules out. She gets an hour and a half nap at 12:30 everyday and goes to bed at 9:30 at night. She falls asleep easily on her own. This all started when we moved from crib to toddler bed.
1194973 tn?1385503904 So i would just force myself to be firm and let her cry herself to sleep or whatever it take to get her to sleep in her crib. If that is what you want her to do of course.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, your child seems to have circardium related sleep disorder. It starts in childhood, onset of sleep problems tend to be associated with stress, anxiety, or circadian rhythm sleep disorders. They may also be associated with sleep disorders (eg, sleep apnea, periodic limb movements), medical conditions that cause pain, psychiatric diseases (eg, anxiety, depression).

Avatar f tn I feel like sleeping just isnt an option between being unfomfortable, getting up every couple hours to pee, and getting our toddler back to sleep in the middle of the night. Not only do my pregnancy hormones make it worse, I break down crying alot. Lack of sleep doesnt help either. Does anyone else feel this way? Any opinions on what I can do to make things more managable?
Avatar f tn I'm going through the same thing. I've been crying myself to sleep almost every night because nothing I do for him pleases him. Good luck dear.
7758733 tn?1402589420 My question is, his did you deal with both in the middle of the night? With her crying every 2 hours, is my son going to get any sleep? What should I prepare for/expect? How did you juggle the needs of both in the middle of the night?
Avatar n tn He will be sleeping soundly and he will suddenly wake up screaming and crying. Tonight when I went in his room, which was about five to ten seconds after he started to cry, he was squatting in his crib crying. When I picked him up he was shaking from side to side. After I picked him up he was shaking for approximately 10 to 15 seconds, and he calmed down he went back to sleep in my arms. The first time this happened I had went to pick him up and he was crying but he was standing up in his crib.
